"I can tell that Mal is very obsessed with words, which brings a question."
Scripture say the ear tries WORDS as the mouth tries meat.
Scriptures says let the WORDS of my mouth.
Book of scriptures say to wholesome WORDS.
The scriptures teaches over and over about words.
The volume of the book whom Jesus says he's of, himself he taught you don't live by bread alone but by every WORD.
SO ALREADY THE OPPOSING SIDE IS OFF TO THE WRONG ATTITUDE.
The person is not on bible order. See, in a scriptural discussion, words are very very very very crucial. You don't throw words around and use them any ole kind a way.
Scripture teaches about using empty words. When God says his ways are not yours, which is the world's, using empty words, using them any kind of way in a vain, profane fashion and LOGIC, you are afar off and have gone out of the way.
Scripture teaches by your WORDS you are justified and by your WORDS you are condemned. So don't think you can just use any word you want as it seems right unto you as it leads to your destruction because you were condemned by them.
All this is bible . If the opposing side has to point this out , the opposite side is off to a badddddd start already.
Now we see why they justify adding to the bible where it's false. Changing what God established, adding on different denominations and christianity.
Rearranging and inventing schemes according to Ecclesiastes 7, making up all these organizations after what was made simple from God , see .
I digress. Let's see what WORDS the opposite side uses to justify the opposing case with. Better be scriptural.
"Con seems to be hinting that maybe God did not even condone the use of the word “Christian” since it’s merely said that they were called this in a matter of fact without saying whether this was a good thing."
What the opposing side is doing is reaching far beyond what is there which is the very words used.
You don't go by "hinting" or "implications". You go by exact words used because it is by them I'm either justified or condemned.
I didn't say anything about "condone", so it shouldn't be in this exchange. I didn't say anything about "good thing" . I didn't say anything about anything else but the topic asking Did God established christianity?
Yes or no, then you support your yes or no. No more no less no reaching.
Don't strain at a gnat, and swallow a camel. Don't go for reaching , making it more than what it is which is simple enough to not complicate.
"The kind of logic con uses leads to chaos. In Scripture, it’s clear that God gives humans the ability to name things and accepts these names"
Oh...is the opposite side admitting "christianity" and the label was named and invented by man?
"In Acts, Christianity was called “the Way.” (See Acts 9:2, 19:9 & 23, 24:14 & 22.) This term comes directly from Jesus; “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No man cometh to the Father, but by me.”
Con doesn’t even have a definition of what Christianity is. This is con’s strategy. If we can’t define Christianity, then how can we say Jesus invented it?"
I don't see any scripture that said christianity came from Jesus. If there is, why doesn't the opposing side quote it?
Scripture say this wasn't done in a corner. Bring it out in the open. The opposite side most likely knows this scripture doesn't say these things which makes it a lie.
I just exposed this for what it was . Scripture say expose them .
Jesus didn't say upon this rock, I build christianity. He didn't even call the people of God christians so don't lie and say he did.
What did he call the people of God?
"Blessed are the peacemakers,
for they will be called children of God"
That's according to Matthew 5.
"Merriam-Webster dictionary defines it as: the religion derived from Jesus Christ, based on the Bible as sacred scripture, and professed by Eastern, Roman Catholic, and Protestant bodies
I’m not sure if you consider yourself Christian or not. If you don’t, can you explain how this definition doesn’t fit your beliefs."
We need bible. This is a scriptural discussion. It's not on my opinion, my thoughts, my definitions or logic. It is totally scriptural.
If you don't have scripture , concede.
You must be in a faith that is a hybrid of using the doctrine of Christ and man.
I just give scripture. According to 1 John 3 , it teaches about the children of God.
Not children of christianity.
So being born of God you cannot sin. You are servants of righteousness, you were the servants of sin. That's what holiness is .
That's what God established or predestined and he came in the flesh to show the way.
The way of christianity, no. We can't read that but we can read he is the way .
What way?
And an highway shall be there, and a way, and it shall be called The way of holiness according to Isaiah 35.
Why doesn't anyone typically identify as a child of God, identify as holy?
It's everything else but. According to Ecclesiastes 7 , they invent schemes making it complicated after God made it.
Not just with sin but with exchanging the truth for a lie saying the term "christianity" came from Jesus.
It came from man and it's been ingrained in society so long, no distinction is actually recognized.
"Perhaps con believes Jesus did not establish organized Christianity, but this is purely false:
And I say to thee: That thou art Peter; and upon this rock I will build my church, and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it. (Matthew 16:18 DRB)
For thus saith the Lord: There shall not be cut off from David a man to sit upon the throne of the house of Israel. Neither shall there be cut off from the priests and Levites a man before my face… (Jeremiah 33:17-18 DRB)
The throne will never be empty, and the priesthood will not end.
To take the place of this ministry and apostleship, from which Judas hath by transgression fallen, that he might go to his own place. And they gave them lots, and the lot fell upon Matthias, and he was numbered with the eleven apostles. (Acts 1:25-26 DRB)
Since Judas abandoned Christ, the Apostles selected a man to replace his role."
Notice we don't read the word "christianity" anywhere in the passages provided. We can read the "way of holiness".
So people that say they're are holy which seems to be a rarity, we know it's actually out of scripture.
People that say that know who they are .
According to 1 John 5:19
"We know that we are of God"
God is holy, he communicated be that for he is that.
So God's people of a nation is a holy nation.
People say "christian nation". They say "this is a christian nation". Why don't they say "holy nation"? That's what the scripture refers to the people of God as.
It's because man invented the title christian and has built a whole organized denomination after it like the baptists, penecostals and etc.
Christ didn't even say upon this rock he will build a christian church.
I ran out of time but I don't think I need but one round for the opposing side.
I won't prolong this out any further.
I'm finished.
