Greetings, just so we have a substance filled discussion.

This is a scriptural topic . Everything will strictly rely on written biblical scripture to validate a point.

Keyword "written" . Strictly important to note.

The topic is regarding those born of God, born of the spirit, having received the spirit, the eternal life.

So we're clear, I have said it.

Do you believe or was taught that saved people of God in Christ can and will continue to wage war to sin falling in sin?

Despite still being a Calvinist, I gave up sola scriptura years ago. It contradicts itself and no one actually follows it.

The original church fell into apostasy (I think we both agree on this point). I'll even admit I have problems with the Trinity myself. The rule to use the scriptures alone has been nullified since the church rejected it. If the church won't listen to the bible, no one will. The bible didn't work and we need a new option. This is why we have pentecostalism to reboot private revelation and signs of faith.

No one is perfect, we all sin, brother in Christ. The bible says calling yourself sinless makes God a liar. The bible has been nullified because God is now a liar. God chose to nullify his word. Look for him somewhere in this world and he will reveal hidden knowledge.

Johnny was just joking when he said those born of God are unable to sin. Call it hyperbole, exaggeration, poetic, anything to keep the bible infallible.

John fell into sin and worshipped an angel even tho he was supposedly born of God. Simon Magus was baptized, believed but fell into the sin of simony. Judas was chosen by Jesus, yet committed suicide and is likely in hell as we speak. Adam and Eve were in perfect paradise and still sinned against God.

My brother in Christ, sola scriptura was indeed something God gave his people for a certain amount of time (such as in Deuteronomy, in some of Paul's letters, in Revelation) but it was in no way meant to last forever. Why force this debate into a "strictly scriptura" debate when there are very few passages of scripture that once commanded sola scriptura in the first place? It's no longer binding either. God commanded it for practical reasons, not doctrinal ones.

The Bible has tons of examples of people who were supposedly born of God yet fell into sins, including major ones, not simply minor sins.

The Bible assumes its readers will continue to sin, which is why it commands them to forgive and ask forgiveness. Paul says he does what he hates. Peter denied Christ. John committed idolatry. The list goes on and on, like how God goes on forever. The infinite power of God.

I'm going to give you three witnesses from scripture since you say "The Bible assumes".

The bible says out of the mouth of three witnesses let every word be established.

First Peter 1

"14 As obedient children, do not conform to the evil desires you had when you lived in ignorance"

First Peter 4

"4 Therefore, since Christ suffered in his body, arm yourselves also with the same attitude, because whoever suffers in the body is done with sin. 2 As a result, they do not live the rest of their earthly lives for evil human desires, but rather for the will of God"

And this one , Romans 6, this seals the deal.

" What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound?

2 God forbid. How shall we, that are dead to sin, live any longer therein?"

Scripture say God forbid and God who is Christ Holy thing Holy God wants his people to be holy as he is and arm themselves the same so that they're done with sin that they continue no longer there in.

The first example you gave only showed what the ideal standard is. It never said we will never sin. It only sets the bar too high for us to achieve, meaning only faith alone can save us and nothing else.

There's also a difference between living in sin and sinning. Living in sin is an entire lifestyle of sin. Everyone sins every once in a while, but the special chosen by God will not die to their sins.

God gives free will, I think.

I know what the bar is, being Santa. No one on the nice list ever is perfect, my friend.

The bible says clearly that if we say we are without sin, we make God a liar. The bible is no longer relevant. God lied. The bible is not infallible, which is why John was joking when he said we would not sin.
