I would start off with a recommendation of three song: Sabbat pt1 and la Rue by cortex and bitches brew by miles Davis.

funky jazz is the child of every form of "imperfection": it is underground, the majority of the time it is rough, it has a rough but very fine tone and not less important: it is a form of rebellion, rebellion from schematic music, from sheet music, extremely technical and virtuosos music, it is free, not by chance, one of the most influenced genres by funk fusion is old school hip hop.

it's also a launch pad for all of the electronic music we have, it's goated, diverse and it should be more acclaimed even outside the underground

The music can be really intricate, which might make it tough for some folks to enjoy listening to.

Many of those tunes don't stick in your head the way pop songs do, so we're all gonna forget them easily.

Musicians sometimes go on and on with solos, which can feel too much for some listeners.

Mixing different styles can sound messy instead of creative.

You really have to focus to enjoy it, which isn't great for just chilling out.

It usually appeals to a smaller crowd and it doesn’t get much mainstream love.

Jazz purists often say it strays too far from the classic version of jazz.

The extreme, excess, and unnecessary use of all those electric instruments may feel less "real" to some "fans".

Sometimes it sounds too produced, missing that raw vibe that jazz lovers crave.

So, while funky fusion jazz has its fans, these points can make it a lot less appealing to others!
