Should young adults (13-17) be allowed to have a voice in matters that affect them

A lot of people would disagree that young adults should not have an opinion when it comes to involving their lives because they are not mature enough to make that decision, but I would have to disagree. I do think that they are mature enough at least to be involved to decide whether or not if it’s gonna involve their life or not if they want to be a part of it sometimes they’re shut out and not allowed to make a decision like that and things happen that could’ve been avoided in the first place like they’re very unhappy or physically, it ends up harming them when in reality if they had a voice, they may have never been put in that situation, but I think they have the ability to let someone know if they’re comfortable with the situation or if they feel safe in a situation or if they disagree and think that it would be a bad outcome for them. I do think a lot of things that happen could be avoided if they were allowed to give their voice and opinion on it.

Yes, I strongly understand the point that you’re coming from how you feel that under the age of 18 shouldn’t be allowed to elect government officials or put anyone in office, but I do disagree with the use of constitution amendments because there has been numerous times where officials have lied or either violated those constitutional amendments and yes it does say that you’re protected under the first amendment for free speech and protest but how many times over and over has a young adult either been involved or lost their lives in that particular situation because they stood up to speak of what they believe. I do believe that young adults have a right to what happens in this country and how it’s handled maybe not be allowed to literally vote, but their voice and opinion should matter and be heard. They should be allowed to go and speak in front of the supreme or federal courts if they disagree or if it impacted their lives, it should be heard and acknowledged so many countless times I’ve watched over and over of their voice being ignored and had they been heard the outcome could’ve been completely different and that child’s life could’ve been completely different. How many children do we have to lose or them get hurt before our government and our people give a voice and hear the cries of our young adults like I said they’re gonna be the ones running our government one day their voice matters

I want to thank my contender for joining the argument and going up against me as an opponent with their side of an arguement . This was a great first debate for me. Thank you for the chance to allow me to give my insight on something I really strongly believe in and thanks to the people and everyone that’s involved in the debate craft website you guys are amazing.
