just completed artwork I've been working on for about a month, depicting the ancients Egyptian funerary rite called "Weighing of the Heart," which is a trial of sort for the spirit of the dead to gain eternal life with the gods for living an unsullied life. The final judgment is the weighing of the deceased;s heart against a feather. The weighing is overseen by the god, Horus [the jackel] and recorded by the god, Thoth [the ibis].

Nice. I really like Ancient Egypt and their religion was amazing! I can completely understand worship of Sun God, and I usually extend it to worship of fire which provides warmth like the Sun.
Egyptian art "at its best" includes masterpieces from the New Kingdom (1570-1070 BCE), such as the golden mask of Tutankhamun, the bust of Nefertiti, and the temple of Abu Simbel, known for their extravagant designs and advanced techniques. Other key works and examples of "best" include the sculptures of the Old Kingdom, like the Diorite statue of Khafre and the Seated Scribe, as well as detailed paintings found in the Book of the Dead of Ani.

They don’t look like modern Egyptians.
They're actually my grandchildren, who represent Tutankhamun and his young bride, Akhenesamun, the daughter of Akhenatun and Nefertiri, rated to be one of the mist beautiful of ancient Egyptian women. They both have blond hair, and that was likely not typical for Egyptians, but I stuck with their hair as is and liked the result.

Culturally yes, quite different, and, yes, they are American. However, by blood, modern Egyptians have a good deal of European in them, too, with Greek and Roman origins, as well.

I did not say modern Egyptians are "mostly" European; you did. I said "a good deal," which is an unqualified sum, and maybe not as much or more than half.
