In the bowl of the sky, the sun and moon are the lamps;

The stars in the constellations are the pearls.

The fragrance of sandalwood is the incense, the wind is the fan,

And all the plants of the forest are the flowers in offering.

What a wondrous Aarti this is, O Destroyer of fear, this is Your Aarti.

Your worship service

The unstruck melody of the Shabad (Divine Word) resounds like the beat of drums.

You have thousands of eyes, yet You have no eyes.

You have thousands of forms, yet You are One.

You have thousands of lotus feet, yet You have no feet.

You are without nose, yet Your fragrance fills the air and enchants me.

The Light is in all beings, and all beings are in that Light.

By the Guru's teachings, this Light is revealed.

As it pleases You, so is the Aarti performed.

My mind is enticed by the nectar of Your lotus feet;

Night and day, I thirst for You.

Grant Your Grace, O Lord, to Nanak, the thirsty songbird,

So that he may dwell in the abode of Your Name.

Your light service

Your Name is my Aarti and my ablution, O Lord.

Without the Lord's Name, all other rituals are false.

Your Name is my seat, Your Name is my bed;

Your Name is my musk and saffron that I apply.

Your Name is my incense, Your Name is my sandalwood;

I grind it and chant Your Name, offering it to You.

Your Name is my lamp, Your Name is my wick;

Your Name is the oil I pour into it.

I light the lamp with the Light of Your Name,

And the entire world is illuminated.

Your Name is my sacred thread, Your Name is my garland of flowers;

I offer this at Your door with all eighteen loads of the world.

What You have created, I offer back to You;

Your Name itself is the fan that waves over You.

The ten directions, the eight celestial realms, the elemental powers, and the four sources of creation โ€”

All these serve in the universe.

Says Ravidas: Your Name is my Aarti;

The True Name is the true offering to the Lord.

Incense, lamps, and clarified butter are prepared for the Aarti;

I am a sacrifice to the Lord of Lakshmi (the lotus-eyed One).

Hail, hail! All is auspicious, the Lord is ever auspicious!

Ever auspicious is the King, the Lord.

The supreme lamp, the pure wick โ€”

You Yourself are the immaculate Lord of Lakshmi.

The devotee of Ram (Ramanand) knows the Lord;

He describes the Lord as the Perfect, Supreme Bliss.

The enchanting form of the Lord, the Fearless Govind โ€”

Sain says: Worship the Supreme Blissful Lord.

Listen to the evening prayer, O God of gods,

The Formless, the Primal Being.

Even the Siddhas in deep meditation could not find Your limit;

They remain in Your sanctuary.

Accept this Aarti, O Pristine, Formless Lord;

Worship the True Guru, O brothers.

Brahma stands and contemplates the Vedas,

Yet the Unseen Lord cannot be seen.

With the oil of the essence (of reality) and the wick of the Name,

The lamp of the body is lit, illuminating all.

The Lord of the Universe lights this lamp;

Only the one who understands, understands.

The five primal sounds of the unstruck melody resound,

Along with the Lord holding the bow (Sarangpani).

Kabir, Your servant, performs this Aarti

To the Formless, the Liberated One.

O Gopal, this is Your Aarti.

O Merciful One, this is Your Aarti.
