Because snap or ebt or supplemental income is gonna tank, millions are gonna miss their monthly ebt.
Moms and dads will try to steal from stores to feed their kids.
What can we do to help prevent the dependency on snap/ebt and lower the risk of theft?
Should there be another tax bracket or 2 to get more taxes to help offset the cost?
Should there be higher standards or in person interviews?

One guy lived illegally in north carolina for 4 years and got an individual tax identification number and was able to get snap benefits.
You don't pay off people not to steal. To paraphrase an old quote, "Billions for defense but not a single penny for tribute."

fun fact: Churches have been fined for trying to help the homeless before. Not specifically for helping the homeless, but for helping them in ways the state doesn’t like.
two incidents I vaguely remember:
—a church fined for letting the homeless sleep in the building (in LA iirc)
— a church fined for feeding the homeless without a vendor’s permit (or something like that)
Why is this relevant? less red tape/legal risk for charities and churches would result in a completely privatized social safety net… this would be great for the poor, and society as a whole. The government will obstruct such efforts because they want the poor to be dependent upon them… thus making them “votercattle.”
