There has been some controversy in recent debates on how AI is used in debates. The question is what should be the default rules for AI in debates? Default meaning that the use of AI is not specified in the description or title.
Question 1: What should be the default rules for AI in Debate Arguments?
Option 1: Blanket prohibition
Prohibited for any reason, including research, argument reviews, source finding, etc.
Option 2: Blanket permission
Permitted for any reason, including permission to copy and paste directly from AI.
Option 3: A middle ground
Prohibited from copying and pasting directly, but permitted to research, review, find sources, simulate rebuttals, etc.
Question 2: What should be the punishment for violating AI rules?
Option 1: No punishment
No warning or bans and let the voters punish them with a L.
Option 2: Progressive punishment
Frist offense warning; second offense 3 day ban; fourth offense 30 day ban; 5th offense 6 month ban, etc.
Question 3: How should we moderate AI VOTES
This is a more serious category as some voters may use AI in writing their RFD or allowing them to think for them.
Option 1: Complete prohibition
Option 2: Partial permission (please discuss)
Option 3: Complete permission
Question 3 How should we punish voting violation?
Option 1: No punishment
