I'd be willing to talk 'some about how voting on the site might be increased.

1, Let people know there is a vote solicitation thread,

I thought it was kind of fun on DebateArt, to tag someone when I passed them on the voting leaderboard.

I feel a bit burnt out of voting,

A big part of why I did it in the past was the leaderboard, but it's kind of frustrating to lose 2 websites worth of effort.

I'm still in the top 10 on DebateCraft though.

I can imagine that would be frustrating. I think one of the issues you run into on these sites is you run into a lot of bad actors. And so voting seems like a waste, eventually. I'm absolutely disfigured, I would say something, and it would populate in people's minds.If we talked about it....you up for a debate? Or know anyone who has some spirit in them?

I think it's a positive action to talk about voting on this site,

Maybe it will encourage people to vote more.

Ultrarated debates need some votes. Go to your profile > badges > then take the quiz to be able to earn vote badges, then click earn vote badge to be assigned a debate to vote on.

Maybe things have changed, but the voting requirements used to be ridiculously demanding and contentious...Making the effort to read through debates and vote, only to have the vote removed by moderators...So I stopped wasting my time.

Voting needs to be simplified, without the need for a lengthy accompanying explanation...Time is precious.

True, it can also be frustrating to have to apply to other people's standards,

Especially if their standards seem too high or seem needlessly complex.

Best solution I think,

Would be an option for creating debates with no 'required Reason for Decision. Or 'low Reason for Decision.

Let people get what they ask for or are willing to accept.

Course on another hand, if we create more types of debates, does that fracture the community?

Same way having multiple versions of WoW might fracture Community?

Poorly written votes mean debaters need to do more debates in order to get an accurate elo. Which takes more time than if voters write out their reasoning in the first place. I think the current system largely accounts for this by having high standards mainly for UltraRated and requiring people to vote themselves before debating.

Also the current voting quiz/rubric hopefully makes the standards easier to understand.
