Are guns or people the issue?
If we remove all guns, are we safer or in the same condition?
Is any one less dangerous without a firearm?
Why is there a misconception of gun violence?
What could be an improvement of gun ownership or guns themselves?

People are temperamental and they are more likely to kill someone is all they have to do is push a button
The science that supports this idea is clear and not really debatable

You can tell this is a gun problem, not just a bad person problem as the gun lobby says, also by comparing non-gun homicides of similar countries as the USA, and then adding guns to the mix: non-gun homicides are slightly on the higher side but within normal range, while gun homicides go wildly higher. If this was a bad person problem at its core, there would be a wildly higher amount of non-gun homicides as well, but that's not the case. Included is an article describing this phenomenon and a link with a picture.

Are guns or people the issue?
I think what the issue is can vary, though in a ‘sense I think ’people are always the issue, it can be easier to remove the guns, than the people.
I remember when they ‘suicide proofed’ all the rooms of the barracks I was living in.
Removed any hooks, bars, and fastenings from the walls.
Probably some BS project by someone trying to claim they were doing something, so they could up their performance review paper.
Or maybe just wasting some money to not have extra money in the budget, then have that money taken away.
. . . I mean 'technically, more opportunities, means more deaths, I think.
But people have a 'glut of opportunities in life.
. . .
Some more obvious than others though, maybe.
When one has a hammer, one wants to use it sometimes.
I imagine removing guns in Tombstone, Arizona might have been effective.
Don't really have the 'time to change the people drifting through town.
And though there may be violence, ideally it'd be with less deadly force.
Though if people still carried knives, could still be a bit dangerous.
I'd 'imagine some people find it easier to shoot a gun, than to struggle in melee with a knife.
Though maybe knives make a person more desperate and hot headed when 'in such a fight. Panicked.
. . . . . . . .
I find a lot of knife laws pretty annoying though,
Such as no switchblades, 'bah, I can still open my folding knife one handed with a flick of my wrist.
Blasted over regulation.
If we remove all guns, are we safer or in the same condition?
In a some places, safer I'd imagine.
In some other places, maybe less safe.
Condition one ends up depends on the place maybe.
I think guns were 'most useful in frontier cities, defending against bank robbers and raiders.
Being able to hunt easier, and defend against wild animals.
They've seen 'some use defending stores against riots.
I wonder if thieves and house invaders are not more bold when citizens are less armed.
. . .
And then there's the weapon itself, I ‘really don’t see guns as 'that dangerous, when thinking of murderers and such.
'Lot of ways to kill individuals and masses of people, lot of ways that would be hard to regulate.
‘I think guns have a sort of pop culture phenomenon, and maybe just the most ‘currently ’obvious option to the deranged.
Is any one less dangerous without a firearm?
Well, I wouldn't want an idiot holding one around me.
‘Could shoot me by accident if they don’t practice gun safety.
And there 'is something to be said for when one has a hammer. Can be easier to act.
Same reason someone trying to quit a vice, might not keep the vice in their house.
Why is there a misconception of gun violence?
Because it can be a useful bogeyman,
People like having something to rail against.
. . . Or something to rail 'for I suppose.
Statistics in general though, I think are just difficult.
What could be an improvement of gun ownership or guns themselves?
Implementing a number of laws as they 'currently stand.
Social awareness, community activity, participating and reaching out in a friendly way, that gun owners take part and pride in their guns and safe and responsible use of them.
Local gun club maybe, with expectations and rules.
. . .
It's odd in a way, to look at guns going the way of swords, though I suppose the frontier era is long past.
And so too the small arms war era,
And the worry of frequent foreign invasions and local war.
. . America anyhow.
At least 11 people were stabbed at a Walmart in Traverse City, Mich. on Saturday — with six in critical condition — in what the sheriff said appeared to be a random act. A suspect was in custody, authorities said.
People are temperamental and they are more likely to kill someone is all they have to do is push a button
People are also less likely to attack me if all I have to do to kill them is push a button.
From the Atlantic article
'As for Friedman’s claim that keeping a gun out of someone’s hands won’t disincline them to commit murder, Cukier said, “The evidence doesn’t support that. Look at the numbers.” She went on to analyze homicide statistics from 2016: “If you look at the rate of murders not caused by guns and you compare Canada, the U.S., the U.K., and Australia, what you see is that it’s roughly the same in all four countries, although the U.S. rate is slightly higher,” Cukier said. In other words, in a scenario without guns, the four populations exhibit roughly similar rates of homicidal behavior.
That changes when you look at the rate of murders that were caused by guns. “As soon as you add guns into the mix, you see that the U.S. has six times the rate of gun murders as Canada has. And Canada has 15 times the rate of gun murders as the U.K., and four times the rate of Australia. It’s very clear that the difference in the murder rates between those countries is a function of the availability of firearms, period.”
Considering that a spoon can kill, used for that purpose, the problem is people, not the tool. The tool [gun or knife, or...] harms no one on its own. There must be a hand and a brain for use of any tool to cause harm.

did you just ignore the science that i posted? it clearly shows people are more likely to kill when they have guns versus other weapons.

People with guns are the issue.
I actually did a debate on guns recently,
https://www.debateart.com/debates/6315-gun-rights-in-the-usa
This speculative. Guns are prevalent so likelihood of them being in use is clear.
Thank you reporter FLRW, now back to me....in other news folks .... let's go to ....weather person SatanLucy.... what's in the forecast...and the chance of rain ..
It's not very speculative. If guns are not a major driver of murder rates then non gin murders should be wildly out of proportion with the rest of the world especially the English world. The fact Canada is right next to the usa and has an overflow of guns and gun violence while not as bad as usa helps support the idea. The fact gun presence and lack of gun control corresponds with murder is also very illustrative. That weebly link is pretty overwhelmingly damning against the gun nut crowd. Basically the overall picture that gun science paints, is that the presence of guns causes problems than if there weren't as many

Ok it's not "very" speculative, just speculative.
The cholesterol, trans fat will kill me before any gun.
There is treatment for your condition.
I ignored no science. It’s just fact that guns are used more as weapons than are guns. I’m merely suggesting a spoon can be a weapon and that banning guns will do nothing to stop one from killing another if it is their desire to do so.

Without actually having a larger-caliber gun, the typical .22 or .38 caliber gun may actuary do less damage than a knife can, if death is not the resulting consequence. Of course, the larger caliber must also come with the smile of Jesus on one's face, according to "Dirty Hairy" [Clint Eastwood].

Weapons are dangerous in general. Guns can hurt more people at a time and more mortally. But obviously knives kill people pretty well too.
Hmmmm, let's ask Charlie Kirk.
Can't.
