I think it'd be better to do just a slideshow of pictures, related to whatever is being mentioned every few seconds or minute.
But admittedly such would probably take more time.

I suspect some videos do better 'with relevant pictures though.
I'd imagine various video game clips were chosen because videos with black blank screen do worse than video game clip.
