It's been a long time I don't take drugs to treat illnesses. I prefer to use natural supplements or herbal products to recover, also known as traditional medicine. The recovery is not so quick as it is with drugs but I'm better without the secondary effects.

Some doctors, counted on the fingers of one hand, told me that it's not good to take too much drugs. There are not so many doctors that can talk like that, most of them are so short sighted, they can't think out of what they learnt in the medicine school. Either way, these brave doctors that trust in mother nature are very careful to not prescribe only natural products because some patients can sue them.

So, what about you? Do you still trust in modern medicine? I don't.

Well, the reason that there are 8.1 billion of us, and that life expectancy has increased significantly, is solely down to modern medicine and surgery.

Though if you are young and fit, eat sensibly and luck is on your side, then you should not require any medical assistance.

But certainly, there are doctors who will throw pills at persistently sickly people instead of addressing the underlying causes.

Not really. In past, there were constant wars, food shortages and theft, as well as labor which was far more intensive than labor today. And population growth today is actually lower in countries with more modern medicine.

Magic + herbs = perfect.

Modern medicine, especially countless pills which barely have any use, are trash.

You can actually see that pills dont work well to treat mental illnesses in many cases, and they also dont treat much of anything. Even pain reducing pills are questionable because they could harm recovery.

Traditional medicine, usually has no any side effects. Willow tree leaves reduce pain, yet have no side effects which come from the pills which are also made from willow tree leaves.

So the point is, what people today dont get: pills are actually in many cases made from ingredients from herbs. The only difference is proccessing where more things are added.

Kinda like with vaccines. Vaccine in its essence can be easily replicated by exposing yourself to much weaker version of virus than the one you want to defend from. This is usually done by exposing one's self to environments filled with viruses, such as mother nature where viruses are everywhere.

Forest is actually a natural cure for many diseases, especially pine tree forest which can cure many diseases modern medicine cant.

I'm not sure what you mean by traditional medicine.

I've heard some Asian cultures refer to food as medicine.

Lot of modern doctors recommend certain diets to people, or recommend they eat enough vegetables or fruits.

I imagine that there 'are various pills that are useful in managing blood pressure and various other conditions.

Course exercise and what one eats is good too.

But doctors 'encourage exercise, and weight management. They don't 'only encourage drugs, I imagine.

I have no objection to surgery but to drugs. Drugs just mask the real problem and even create more problems, for example gastritis.

Besides, everything indicates that the pharmaceutical industry is not concerned about our health but about making more money. There's sth obscure about it and it's not a conspiracy theory.

Well, human social and intellectual development is such that pharmaceutical companies will undoubtedly need to profit from their endeavours.

And should you get an infected tooth abscess for example, you will be grateful that they do.

And should you develop hypertension, a heart condition or cancer in later life you will also be very grateful.

Life's fine when you young and fit, and it's easy to criticise from a healthy standpoint, but just remember that not so very long ago I in 5 of your school friends would have inevitably succumbed to TB, and the chances of making it past 35 years of age would have been very slim indeed.

For sure living standards and social empathy has improved greatly.

And their are undoubtedly non-processed remedies available which can be used to treat mild ailments.

WW1 accounted for approximately 22 million immediate deaths.

At the same time, Spanish flu accounted for approximately 50 million...And that was but one prevalent contagion or infectious pathogen.

Flu still kills people today. Covid killed millions too. But again, people want to trust modern medicine, even tho there are more illnesses now than ever.

This is exactly what people should point to. To me Asians seem to be healthier and live more than any other ethnicity in the world, while the average American eats industrialized garbage and take pills to mask the problems that this factory food causes.

There might be doctors who suggest hollistic treatments like excersises and diet change, but they are very few. Most doctors prescribe drugs as the panacea and that's all. This is a short sighted way to address an illness imho.

Besides, I was referring to doctors who prescribe alternative medicine or treatments that don't involve drugs. For example, vitamin C superdosage, I've never heard about it during the Covid pandemic. Also, some people with cancer avoid chemotherapy because it sucks, instead they look for natural alternatives like mistletoe extract. You'll never see doctors teaching alternative medicine in the medicine schools.

And I tell you, if I ever get cancer I will never choose chemotherapy but natural products. I'll let nature flow as it should, so if I have to die that's the way it should be.

There are obviously conditions where you need to see a doctor. But hospitals are figuring out there are alternative medicines that actually help people. If in no other way, stress and anxiety. For instance, I don't bother going to the hospital for a kidney stone unless I have severe pain or a fever. They often give me something for the pain. Make sure there's no blockage, and then send you home to pass it. In those circumstances, I find apple cider vinegar and dandelion tea to be a godsend.

Drugs are synthesized chemical compounds that typically target specific symptoms, while traditional medicine often involves natural remedies like herbs or other practices (such as massage, diet, or fasting) aimed at supporting the body's overall healing process

. Both can be used for healing, but their approaches differ: drugs offer precise symptom management, whereas traditional medicine focuses on a holistic and gentle restoration of balance. Some modern pharmaceuticals, like aspirin, were developed from traditional sources, and many people use both conventional and traditional methods concurrently

Keep up the Borgnine regime.

And eat healthily and exercise regularly.

Just this week an old cycling friend hard a cardiac arrest and died aged 77.

That's the way to go.

A Zedku doesn't demand rhyming necessity.

Rhymes are for the under tens.

A Limerick for Debby

A symmetrical Canadian female.

Said to be perfect in every detail.

Though only online

Did everything seem fine

For she was actually the size of a whale.
