In recovery of my recent knee surgery, I have been prescribed oxycodone to address the occasional pain I am suffering since the knee requires aggressive physical therapy more so than almost any other joint than the hips, which are in virtual constant use, as well. Oxy is a great pain reliever, but one of its severe side-effects is the easy ability it causes to become addicted to its use - a terrible demon. My fear of addiction is extreme, and to counter that potential, I spread the dosage rate - sometimes too severely, causing greater pain than if I took the prescribed dosage rate. Damned if you do, damned if you don't. I never take an over-dose for fear of addiction more easily. One of its other side-effects is excessive stupidity, at least for me. I know it's side-effects vary among users; this is mine I abhor the feeling of a blank head, and with the amount of reading that I do, a blank head is a curse I also abhor.

Any other stories from users?

Natural pain reliever are willow leaves. Pain pills are made from them.

Supernatural pain reliever is repeating prayer words over and over, then having no thoughts or focus for few minutes, then repeat prayer.

I heard of the turmeric to treat pain, it's natural so it doesn't have side effects. From what I heard it works for joint pain, specially for elders.

I can't say I remember any 'long bouts of pain I've ever had.

Whacked my knee running down a mountain once as a kid, knee was swollen for some days, unpleasant.

Ganglion Cyst on my left wrist, get's irritating sometimes, but not usually noticeable.

Went with local anesthesia when my wisdom teeth got removed, though I 'was a bit curious about what it'd be like to get knocked out or awake but sleepy drugs. Easier just to get the local, rather than get another person to help me home.

Felt gross when the wisdom teeth got removed though.

Have a bottle of Tylenol, if I ever have pains, but luckily have no long term pains yet.

And small pains pass quickly enough not to bother with Tylenol.

Long term pain looks like it can wear on people, their happiness and temper.

Two shoulder replacements and oxycodone each time. After the initial start of pain on 2nd day after surgery, that was the most. On this most replacement I did 5 wholes in that day. Then realized I didnt take correct amount of anti-constipation med { seanna } and or Magesium Citrate.

Shoulder doctor told me they had done studies on why people who had both shoulders replaced, felt the 2nd was so much worse than first.

I got the things to stick in my butt hole, that induce bowel movement from below instead of ingestion. Wow, was amazed at how well that worked. Thank God, cause I never ever want to be so constipated again, that, I have to sit on toilitet straining, nearly fainting and picking out feces with my finger. Arrgh!!!!

So the first week I maybe did whole pill each day, or even a half. As with my first shoulder, Im two months past the 12 weeks outs of work and still have 6 whole pills remaining. I break my pills into quarters. That is my standard minimum along with typlenol and naproxen.

Over the years same with hydrcodone and tramdol. { break in half as quartes to small to make } After iniitial severe pain, Im very careful. So been using all three at various times for various injuriess and was in pain manamgement for 8 years, cause of the opiod scare across the country.

Now Im back to family doctor for pain meds. Hope it goes as well with their as it did in pan managment officed/doctore

That is what Jesus did because he thought he was in deep pain. But he was being crucified.
