I finally started my re sale business.

I realized that I have a lot of things I dont need, and selling them would earn money.

One such thing was an old guitar I never played.

I did a lot of AI research on how to do sale and re sale online.

I didnt really think I would succeed in selling. But I realized that when it comes to online sales, people look at 3 things: Price, quality, and reputation of seller.

So I realized that any buyer looking to buy a cheap guitar would likely be most attracted to cheapest price among offers. So I looked at other prices, and set my price below those prices, so my offer seems like a better deal compared to those.

there are some important rules in re sale.

First important rule is to set cheap price when selling.

Second important rule is that when buying, you are looking for cheapest price of same product.

Because profit isnt made when selling, but when buying. If you buy for lower price, profit increases when selling later.

Of course, my old guitar wasnt an investment. I just needed to sell it, because I realized I have no use from it, but would have use from money earned by selling it.

I could have set a higher price, but then I probably wouldnt succeed in selling.

Writing a book on selling might be more profitable. More people want to learn to sell for profit than be buyers.

Good suggestion, Debby. I still do some freelance writing for clients. Two good online clearinghouses for writing projects are freelance.com and upwork.com. You got to set up an "about me" page with links to writing samples and a bio and such, which the clearinghouses then make available to writing-needs clients, but it's worth the effort. Clients generally pay on time and the work drives a lot of research, but, hey, you end up learning a ton in the process. Write g projects are anything from articles to books. You don't get credit on either unless the client is willing to do that, so you're really ghostwriting, but it's still added income if sufficient skill is there. Edit - always edit for spelling, grammar, and such. Clients do not like errors and sloppy writing, so it is a learned skill.

I make notes, and have plenty of notes saved both on phone and in real notebooks. But I never really made them into a book to publish it. Mainly because books dont really sell that great.

But when it comes to my notes on business and investments, I cant say its anything super enough, just being a very simple guide for safe investments and sales, for my personal use, which I update a lot.

tho as far as I know, most people lose money in investments, because they focus on short term investments, which is usually how you lose money easily. Most of trading apps which show "buy now, sell 5 minutes later" or something like that are really only scamming their users. You generally dont make money in investments in 5 minutes.

I don't think selling your stuff is considered a job.

Well...I suppose for prostitutes it is.

Buying and selling seems reasonable way to make money,

Some garage sales, estate sales have stuff they sell really cheap.

Sometimes at the end of the sale or next day.

Some library booksales have really cheap books.

I suppose I'd worry about taxes and storage space.

Buying and selling is. thats how all stores and traders work. But to be honest, I didnt expect to be able to sell even 1 thing.

Yes, the main goal is to buy cheapest possible, but in good condition, good quality, desirable item. For example, there is also clothes bought per kilogram, which then means that one piece of clothes costs like 1 dollar when you buy it.

I dont worry about taxes or storage space. I have enough storage space, and I keep my businesses small enough so I dont have to pay taxes. My chicken business is actually small enough so it doesnt have to legally register as business. And my online buying and selling likely wont be big enough to have to pay taxes. Maybe if I see good money in sales and trade, I will expand, register and pay taxes. But there is no point in paying taxes on 50$ monthly income profit, and the government generally doesnt require registration and taxes from such small business.

With a monthly profit that low, it isn’t even worth to mention it here. Try writing a book about selling. It might have a wider audience.

Profit depends on scale of sale. If I increase sales greatly, sure, I can have higher profit. But then I have to register business and pay taxes, or risk fines.

I am sure your parents could easily compensate you the $50 so you wouldn’t get into trouble.

Not annual, but anyway.

He missed your $50 monthly income profit in your post #8. What advice do you have for his parents considering his turnover is 34$?

It took me like only few days to sell guitar. I might have skill in sales.

I build my resale business on 3 grounds: reputation, quality, cheap price.

In simple terms, I sell high quality for cheaper price.

Are you saying your parents got a good deal and why they continue to give you money?
