Most people won't be transphobic, as the utilisation of the suffix is inappropriate.

It's like saying that someone who prefers not to eat bananas is bananaphobic.

If a bloke wants to cut off his dick, grow some breasts and call himself Marjorie, then the surgical and medical facilities exist, and I am not the least bit fearful.

I will never abandon support for trans people. They are precious and need to be protected 🏳️‍⚧️🏳️‍⚧️🏳️‍⚧️🏳️‍⚧️

What does it mean to be transphobic?  Because I thought it was anyone who wasn't an identarian absolutist (ie, your gender is solely how you identify).

If that is the definition you want to work with, then most people are already transphobic.  If you want to make the definition more strict, then present me your definition of a transphobe.

A transphobe is someone fearful of transsexuals. Obviously

  1. Is Matt Walsh fearful of transsexuals?
  2. If someone says, “XX=Female, XY=Male”, then are they afraid of transsexuals?  If not, then they aren't transphobic by your definition.

If you were in a room with a transsexual would you be irrationally fearful.

If not, then you are not transphobic.

And you would perhaps have simply decided to be discriminatory.

I wouldn't be fearful, but I wouldn't believe they are a woman just because they say they are.  Does this make me transphobic?

No, that is not a phobia.

That is a rational viewpoint.

As far as I see it:

Gender is dictated by chromosomes and reproductive status acquired at birth. Which isn't to say that transsexualism isn't to some extent an evolved human condition. Though I am apt to think that transsexualism is an evolved socio-psychological condition.

Negative discrimination and/or tolerance are also evolved socio-psychological strategies, that develop relative to circumstance and conditioning.

What does it mean when employers don't hire trans people out of fear or repulse?

To me this is transphobia and most people suffer from it.

Employers don't hire certain people for certain reasons.

Most economic decisions will be based upon reliability and therefore profitability, and certain other staffing considerations will also be taken into account.

And I'm guessing that your claim is an assumption based upon second hand information.

Though outright prejudice and discrimination is still not a phobia.

Nonetheless, I think that an employer is also entitled to make their own personal decisions. To say otherwise is equally as discriminatory.

Transphobia is simply a modern compound abbreviation generally used for dramatic effect.

Alright; we both agree on identarian absolutism, but we disagree on if it classifies as tranphobia.  I have no problem with adopting a scary (but accurate) label for myself.

Within limits.

If a trans person says something retarted, then they should be called out for it.  But if they say something good, then credit where it's due.

"Identarian" as in far right pan-European ideologue.

Not really my sort of label.

I'm more of a globalist, who holds certain viewpoints and respects the right of others to hold a different viewpoint.

This paper critically analyses three main neurobiological hypotheses on trans* identities: the neurobiological theory about the origin of gender dysphoria, the neurodevelopmental cortical hypothesis, and the alternative hypothesis of self-referential thinking and body perception.

No, trans people are just people with their own issues, just like everyone is. I dont think there exists flawless human, so calling trans a flaw is both insulting and highly double standards.

Identitarianism with the trans stuff is, “Anyone who identifies as a woman is a woman”.

@RemyBrown

You aren't Transphobic, you choose not to be a willfully indoctrinated clodpoll.

“A woman is anyone that identifies as a woman.” This is the most willfully moronic response to “what is a woman”. It poses not a single descriptor. Its no different than saying a dog is anyone who identifies as a dog. It is utterly preposterous and moronic. Anyone who is even the slightest bit intellectually honest would agree.

@sadolite

To the left, I'm transphobic.

My thought process:

Right wing says XX=Female, XY=Male, no exceptions.

Left wing calls this transphobia.

The right denies being transphobic.

The argument then becomes, “Is the right transphobic?”

The left believes saying XX=Female, XY=Male is transphobic; but if the right accepts the label, then the debate can be about, “Is transphobia good?” instead of, “Is the right transphobic?”

Why be scared of a legal and common label?

I'm transphobic.  Nothing wrong with it.

“To the left, I'm transphobic.” Who gives a fuck, they contribute nothing to society but absurd willful stupidity. My opinion of course. The left the right they can all suck shit out of your ass. Figuratively speaking. They are just two sides of the same coin. Unless you aren't hating your fellow man neither side is doing its job.

Nope. There is a lot of research about it.

Though outright prejudice and discrimination is still not a phobia.

How is that? Maybe we're using different dictionaries. Transphobia is the “dislike of or strong prejudice against transgender people.” according to the brits of Oxford.

But supposing you're right, we'd come to the same conclusion anyway because transphobia leads to labour discrimination. If you feel repulsion or aversion to trans, you'll try to keep them away by all means.

Nonetheless, I think that an employer is also entitled to make their own personal decisions. To say otherwise is equally as discriminatory.

Of course, they are. All the same, the employer is just reacting to what his transphobic clients prefer. So, the transphobia of people force the business to be discriminatory. It's an action-reaction dynamic. Can you see it now?

@Misterio

As I stated Transphobia is a recently created compound word used for dramatic effect, wherein “phobia” has a corrupted definition.

An arachnophobe is simply someone who is assumed to unfairly discriminate against spiders.

And it's reasonable for any employer to assume that a person who clearly displays specific types of physiological issues, is likely to be unreliable and overdemanding.

And “trans” as in the modern trend, seeks to prioritise the irrational behaviour of the few over the rationale of the majority. Why is this not regarded as heterophobia?

Edit post

@SergeantLynch

And it's reasonable for any employer to assume that a person who clearly displays specific types of physiological issues, is likely to be unreliable and overdemanding.

Well, trans people can display some issues but it's not because of their disphoria, it's very likely something related to the disgust people feel towards them. I can imagine how much they have to put up with.

It's like porn actresses, people think porn stars end up in drugs and eventually killing themselves because of their job but the truth is that these women receive too much negative feedback and hate from certain people, as if they were hookers. If people were more tolerant, specially the religious ones, this world would be a bit better.

Edit post

#26 •••
@Misterio

For sure, each to their own.

And if all people were tolerant, perhaps the world would be a better place.

Though I'm thinking that reprogramming society is an impossible task.
