Liberals got their panties in a wad, as they always do in knee jerk reaction to trump, and oppose this. But they need treatment and are causing harm to society. I work with homeless people as a social cause, and am always pushing affordable housing policies, so I'm part of the pro homeless cause. Yet they need what's good for them and everyone else. They don't like it? F*** em. Said with love

No, you dont own people, and you dont own homeless people. No force can be used on a person just because you think there is some statistical harm from the group, as force itself is harm which then contradicts your goal.

The addicts? Round them up, put them to work, let them clean up, then tag and release. Shoot the drug dealers in the head.

In a best case scenario, where the homeless don't commit crimes or otherwise intimidate the surrounding population, they still have to use the bathroom somewhere. If the city furnishes them with public toilets, then you have a situation where taxpayers are on the hook because of the mere presence of the homeless. And if the city doesn't, then suddenly the streets are awash with human urine and feces.

Either way, it's wrong to suggest that the homeless are truly “just there”. Maybe this is true of a certain group of episodically homeless, who are on the streets for a week or two, work day jobs, shower at the gym, live out of their cars, and then resume normal lives once their next paycheck has come in. But the chronically homeless are a different story.

If your existence poses intrinsic costs for the local community, this rationally entitles them to exercise a degree of heightened control over you that wouldn't be acceptable for a net contributing citizen. At least with this EO they have somewhere to lodge instead of just being told to leave town with no backup options.

The funny thing about 20th century de-instutionalization is that everyone seemed to agree it was a good idea at the time (those places had a horrible reputation), but now both sides at the aisle like to point fingers at the other and blame them for the decision. I guess it really is as JFK said: “Victory has a thousand fathers but defeat is an orphan.”

Looks like the pendulum is swinging back in that direction now. Until its reputation eventually sours again, upon which we'll go back to where we are now.

No, this is false claim. In case such control does more harm than good, or doesnt do much good, such control cannot be justified. Also, claim is false by logical universality. Existence of my country poses a cost for me, but that doesnt mean I can own my entire country. Likewise, for homeless people, in many cases, your community took more from them than it gave, so now they own your community.

Do you honestly think Trump is going to help end homelessness?  An easy way to deal with homelessness is to house a bunch of homeless people at Maro Lago.

He is all talk, no action.

That's why all restaurant bathrooms should be free whether or not you are a paying customer.

Trumps plan to force homeless into rehabilitation?

This?

https://www.pbs.org/newshour/show/what-trumps-order-on-clearing-encampments-forced-hospitalization-means-for-the-unhoused

Well, I imagine most people don't like the homeless laying around on their sidewalks and street corners,

Leaving trash and needles everywhere,

Tarps and tents.

Situation get's ‘really bad in some cities I’ve heard.

. . . I suppose an 'ideal, could be a homeless shelter, or maybe boarding houses, , ,

But I imagine some homeless individuals feel 'more uncomfortable in some homeless shelters.

Lack of freedom of movement, being 'forced around some other homeless individuals they might know better to avoid. Some homeless ‘can be unpleasant, crazy, or thieves. (I’m not saying all or even a majority)

Course, homeless shelter/boarding house would 'ideally be optional I suppose.

Could have facilities such as running water, showers, laundry, maybe a kitchen?

Internet? Mail?

. . . Course then, it becomes in a sense a ‘pushing away of homeless from the ’normal community into a ghetto, kind of.

Laundry mat from my home town, owner gives the homeless individuals free tokens to do their laundry there.

. . .

There's also a difference between the temporarily homeless, the lifestyle homeless, and the crazy.

Some homeless shelters might work better as 'temporary living locations, based around getting the individual back to regular housing.

Some homeless (Crazy) just won't ‘work well with a homeless shelter, same way they don’t work with regular society. Can't 'trust them with some amenities maybe.

. . . . . . . . . . . . . . .

I'm also not sure the plan works without limits and/or everyone enacting it.

Some 'cities become known as friendly to the homeless, become overrun, as other places unfriendly to the homeless force the homeless out.

But even ‘welcoming cities can only handle ’so ‘many people, before they’d have to say get out. Thus the 'everyone thought.

And you do the same; you get your boxer shorts down always getting ready to jerk off to an old guy with blond hair while saying you aren't a queer.

You're too stale.
