This should be a hilarious debate with a lot of poor reasoning from trump supporters

It was like choosing between piss or shit. Would rather go with piss.
I think the identity of the democratic party has gone completely downhill. Atheists fall too far down the Atheism --> Nihilism route that allows them to feel no empathy or sympathy for any basic human functions, and the Democratic Party is just one step closer to those insane leftist-leaning priorities. It is not even like the left has bad policies, I just think that the values that the left has, when you go farther and farther down the aisle. Nihilism will ultimately be the destruction of this country. Even when you look at what Nihilism throughout history, all you have to do is look at the Pitesti Prison, etc. That is what the nihilism ideology and experiments do, and I think the left is closer to that than the right
Both sides suck, both parties are shit. But I'd rather align myself with the side has still closely holds the values of family, empathy, etc, than a party that is slower moving closer to insane Nihilism
Kick logic to the curb and do the impossible!
Actually, the GOP has descended into Nihilism. It would be easy to dismiss the continuing stream of lies emanating from Republican Party leaders, on grounds of both their obvious emptiness and their soul-wearying character. But doing so would be a grave mistake, as millions of individuals embracing the GOP have shown themselves willing to accept all manner of absurdity to assuage their perceived persecution at the hands of alleged elites who are purportedly practicing what their party’s leaders call “radical socialism.” Those citizens and officials have accepted President Donald Trump’s thought-numbing descent lockstep into demagoguery and anti-democratic claims, with the major share embracing his Big Lie that the November 2020 election was “stolen” from him.
It's just baffling why more people didn't vote for Kamala. Wasn't she supposed to make America great? (no really)

Do you normally copy and paste articles on this site?

I suppose that's the marker of unoriginal thought, along with your unoriginal fetish for cheering on assassinations. I will give you my original take on your bullshit copied article. In that essay, it boldly labels institutions such as government, courts, academia, media as sacred objects. If you question or distrust them, suddenly you’re “descending into nihilism," whatever that garbage spin is supposed to mean.
Ok, Ok, you win, you're unfriended.
I'd need more analysis on specific policy points to even consider your argument as correct. I'd agree on the family values point Republicans r doing it better. I'd disagree on empathy. I think Republicans are winning the culture wars and democrats are often ridiculous on that front. Im an old school economic populist with a moderately liberal bias and democrats seem to be doing better here. Economics and rights, democrats. Conservatives act like they are they economic party but really all they care about is their donors and they also run up the deficit to do so. Democrats are more likely the party of responsible governance and Republicans are currently dysfunction and tearing the whole thing down. Theyre best fit to be the opposition party and party of Saying No to the majority... but when it comes time to actually govern, its a shit storm
Ok, Ok, you win, you're unfriended
Thanks, that was my mistake when I joined this site, thinking you guys were respectable enough to not cheer at the death of someone you disagreed with.
I know DoubleR said people like this are "extremely rare" but you have proven that to be a false statement.
I wouldn't defend him but for the sake of the world he's much better than old Joe or Kamala.
I didn't see enough of Kamala's speeches or see her questioned enough to know much about her, so I was sincere when asking why you Amercians didn't think she would make a good president.
I'm not a yankee but from what I could make out, Kamala was like a furniture, she did nothing in the government. Nobody knew she was the vice president of the US, until Biden stepped out of the presidential election.

I mean, kind of ironic on a debate site to be someone mocking a debater for being killed. That's like...half the site FLRW would cheer the killing of. And then who would be left for him to argue with? Much as I have disagreements with both Charlie and the people mocking him, it's all free speech. Killing over it is stupid.
It's just baffling why more people didn't vote for Kamala. Wasn't she supposed to make America great? (no really)
Oh pulease, we both know the answer to that. Kamala is black and a woman, the majority of this country are too racist and/or misogynist to vote for a black woman, it's as simple as that.
Maga, Trump, the move towards fascism and away from democracy, it's all just the blowback reaction to our first black president. This country revealed who we really are, and I'm just disgusted by it all.
In less than two decades, I've gone from being ashamed to be a republican, to ashamed to be white, to ashamed to be an American. I changed political parties, can't really change the other two.
Agreed, I would not want to associate with those people for sure.
What are you talking about, man? I'm not an American but I can notice Kamala was chosen just to fill the racial quota, no matter how incompetent she is.
This is the way lefties manage the government, and that's the reason why Trump was elected again.
I wonder at what moment the Democrats turned into what they are now, a socialist party.
To call the democrats a socialist party is like calling the republicans libertarians. There's some of each in both parties but neither define the parties. And in fact most democrats r pretty moderate. Looking at the developed world, they r conservative and republicans r very conservative and in My opinion dysfunctional when it comes to governing
Are most American socialists, like you, this problematic when formatting a post in English?
I voted Libertarian in 2020 and 2024, not because I am a libertarian or want them in office, just because it's the closest thing I can think of to a way to tell the system to go fuck itself.
Forum signatures are bullshit. Nobody wants to waste their time and bandwidth reading something they have read 29,998,559,671,349 times before.
"Kamala is black and a woman, the majority of this country are too racist and/or misogynist to vote for a black woman, it's as simple as that." #15
Oh I don't know, depends on the Black woman.
Condoleezza Rice could be electable.
George W Bush voted for Condoleezza Rice I hear.
And if she and Harris ran at the same time, I 'really doubt a third party would be elected.
. . .
Besides, Harris 'could have won, there were other factors that her sex and race.
Entered the race late, not too visible vice presidency, economy at the time, claimed she would do everything the same as Biden, wasn't particularly charismatic I thought.
The popular vote was about 51 to 49.
The trouble was that neither possessed the ability to string a reasonably intellectual sentence together.
I think that Trump got it for being the most entertaining.
Such is the shallow collective intellect of the American masses...Or so it seems.
So as it stands, Trump represents about half the U.S. populace...Which is exactly how he plays it...Such is Statesmanship.
But your states, or mini-tribes as I like to think of them. Well their chiefs all got together and talked to their people and they decided Kamala just wasn't right.
Why was that? What entertainers did Kamala need to convince? Why did most of the tribes think Kamala would not take care of the other half of the tribes?
Generally speaking as elections go, it looks like Trump made most of your 50 tribes calm on election day, while Kamala must have made them anxious or afraid or angry or something less than calm. And calm, or calmer, usually wins at the end of election day among the undecided. Our politicians in Canada are always calm across the board.
Out of curiosity, do you think of Canadian provinces and territories as mini-tribes?
America, I think after the Civil War, individual States lost a lot of power and identity, in favor of the greater Union.
. . .
I think some states do tend towards certain demographics and politics, but even then, I think they are very mixed.
To me they seem too 'porous,
Tribes and Nations to my thinking, require deeper 'roots for such titles. Laws, Identity, Crystalized and Solid Ingroup.
Most Americans 'easily relocate I think, The 'American Tribe 'far outweighing the State Tribe.
. . . Course 'some people are very State minded, but even in places such as Texas, I don't 'think they are majorities in their states.
. . .
Israel had a number of Tribes as I recall. All under the Greater state of Israel, but the Israel Tribes were more solid, than Modern American tribes I'd assume.
. . .
American States, eh, even Utah and the Mormons, my assumption is they see themselves as Mormons more than the people of Utah, Americans, more than the people of Utah,
Though maybe they think of Utah as theirs, lot of Mormons there. Maybe half the state is Mormon, which 'is a lot, but when half 'isn't Mormon, the idea of Utah as a single Tribe loses out for me.
Out of curiosity, do you think of Canadian provinces and territories as mini-tribes?
Quebec and Alberta are vastly different provinces from Ontario across the board, from language to laws to culture to economics. Your states have far more in common, relatively speaking.
Well for a start, I live in Wales U.K.
The U.S. generally presents as three tribes...Staunch republican, staunch democrat and moderates.
The moderates generally decide outcomes, which is why governments fluctuate over time.
Previously Donald was replaced by Joe and prior to that Obama was replaced by Donald.
So there was nothing particularly unusual about this terms election result.
As I stated, there was no big swing in popularity towards a Republican President, even though the contrived U.S. voting system might suggest otherwise.
So next time will be fun to watch, and will depend upon three factors:
A. How much this Republican administration pisses people off.
B. The credibility of a Democratic alternative.
C. The integrity of the American people.
So like me, you don't quite understand the US tribal election system where 50 tribes have to agree on who is the best. Nor do you have anything to teach about why those 50 tribes found Kamala the less than calm choice.
Well Kamala was a woman with a dark complexion and wasn't particularly eloquent.
Trump was a light skinned guy, also not at all eloquent, but what he did say resonated with the tribal instincts of insular Americans.
And at the end of the day it was 51 - 49 in favour of the light guy in the red hat.
And for sure I have had the system explained several times and it still doesn't make sense.
One would assume that the President is the global representative head of state of the entire nation, and not of 50 separate nations.
I thought that States elected their own representatives.
