I'll admit that I didn't even know who she was untill my wife dragged me to see Wicked", but I read a news story titled "Ariana Grande has a question for American voters", and it's a damn good question: The singer reposted a list of questions to her 373 million Instagram followers first posted by podcast host and makeup artist Matt Bernstein.

Since Trump had now been in office for 250 days, the question was: following ICE raids on immigrants, anti-trans commentary, and attacks on free speech, would Trump voters say their life had improved?

Has life got any better since Donald Trump was returned to the White House?

“Have your groceries gotten cheaper? Has your health insurance premium gone down?”

“Has the widespread suffering of others paid off for you in the way he promised it would, or are you still waiting?”

Do any Trump voters have an answer?

Ask Charlie Kirk if his life has gotten any better.

Too soon?

I seriously doubt a multimillionaire singer really gives a crap about the lives of the peasants beneath her.

It's all pretend and games to increase her following.

Typical Reptilian MAGA distraction BS, you don't like the question, attack the person asking it. One thing is certain; Trump voters will not actually answer the question.

The only thing MAGA people are smart enough to do is express contempt, the only question they know how to answer is about who they hate.

I sincerely apologize for slandering Charlie Kirk, and sorry I struck a personal nerve. I suppose your voters will decide if being richer is a pressing issue or staying alive and violence free is a priority, assuming you can't have both.

I sincerely apologize for slandering Charlie Kirk,

No you aren't, it was never "too soon" for MAGA, it took Trump about an hour to start exploiting and monetizing it, hell, he still has the erection it gave him in terms of spreading hatred against the left and raising money.

and sorry I struck a personal nerve.

You didn't, I've been consistent in saying what I said, since long before you came around.

I suppose your voters will decide if being richer is a pressing issue or staying alive and violence free is a priority, assuming you can't have both.

Only the billionaires are getting richer, under this fascist regime, we can't have either.

Well, you added to the wealth of Ariana Grande by joining her followers. So I am sure she appreciates that concession on your part. I apologize when I insinuated that she didn't really care about you.

Trump’s second term will be the worst presidential term ever.

Tragically, the president's second term is already more lawless and more authoritarian than any in US history.

@Debby

Your government requires the executive branch to have authority. The alternative is lawlessness with nobody having the power or authority to execute your laws. Although it's possible some 4th branch agencies might have the authority to do what your president refuses to do. Without that, you don’t get some utopian “less authoritarian” government, you get paralysis and chaos because no one can carry out the laws your Congress passes.

Nope, I saw it on the news, that's a thing we have down here in the states, you probably wouldn't understand.

Oh please, if you start apologizing for stupidity you won't have time for anything else. You don't need to say it; everyone is already sorry you are stupid.

H.L Mencken predicted a moron in the White House.

Rex Tillerson's alleged comment that President Trump was “a moron” (G2, 12 October) brings to reality the words of HL Mencken in the Baltimore Sun.

But a billionaire real estate tycoon does?

I suppose your voters will decide if being richer is a pressing issue or staying alive and violence free is a priority, assuming you can't have both.

If US voters want to calm down the dangerous escalation of political violence, the first thing we would do is impeach and remove the moron in the Oval Office. We won’t though, because that’s not what the right wants. What they want is an excuse to escalate the violence because that’s all they have. MAGA is nothing more than a hate filled grievance driven movement, so they chose the guy they believed would impose retribution on the rest of the country. They’re the ones choosing this, and people like you are why it works.

A sentiment I’ve expressed many times before. During the campaign Kamala showed us the best of who she was, America didn’t believe her and assumed the worst. Meanwhile Trump showed us the worst of who he was, America didn’t believe him and assumed the best.

A country this dumb deserves what it gets. It’s just unfortunate that so many who didn’t vote for this have to live with it.

Ignoring the commentary, which is typical. blather, your four [not one] questions:

...would Trump voters say their life had improved?

Why ask what Trump would say? That's just feeding the lion in the cage with you. Don't you want to know if mat life has improved? Yes, it has.

I own [no mortgage] my largest home, my largest property, and highest elevation property, and sold my rental property in CA in 2019 at 17x its original value when purchased 40 years ago, and purchased a 40' sloop in 2019, cash, berthed in Newport Beach, where we generally spewed winter months. My gold is 10x its value, and my silver 3x its value when. they were purchased. I am happier, wealthier than I've ever been.

Has life got any better since Donald Trump was returned to the White House?

See above. Yes.

Have your groceries gotten cheaper? Has your health insurance premium gone down?

I purchase less food and grow more myself. Yes. Being healthier than I was ten yearns ago, yes.

Has the widespread suffering of others paid off for you in the way he promised it would, or are you still waiting?

Misery is generally self-caused. But I do take time to carer for others where I can help, donating roughly 20% of my increase and about 10 hours per week.

If you felt the same, you wouldn't ask the questions... Nor would Ariana. As I said - Misery is generally self-caused.

LOL, I'm sorry, but I am not Ariana Grande, try reading slowly for comprehension.

...would Trump voters say their life had improved?

Why ask what Trump would say?

OK, try that read slow for comprehension thing again, maybe have somebody read it to you out loud, maybe then you will recognize that nobody asked what Trump would say.

Don't you want to know if mat life has improved? Yes, it has.

Since that was actually the question, please do tell, how has your life improved.

Far out man, all that shit happened in just 250 days, gee whiz, don't tell me, let me guess, before January 20th, you were living under a bridge and eating squirrel, right? No fucking wonder you are such a fanatic Trumper, fascism has really been good to you.

LOL, your reading comprehension problem is yuge, you misunderstand what you read bigly.

Has life got any better since Donald Trump was returned to the White House?

See above. Yes.

just so you know, Trump returned to the white house on January 20th, 2025, roughly 8 months ago.

Have your groceries gotten cheaper? Has your health insurance premium gone down?

I purchase less food and grow more myself. Yes. Being healthier than I was ten yearns ago, yes.

OK, again, the post you didn't comprehend, was about "since Trump returned to the White House", eight months, not ten years, but hey, I'm proud of you for being healthier, good job man. Whatever you do, don't take Tylenol, you could end up autistic.

Has the widespread suffering of others paid off for you in the way he promised it would, or are you still waiting?

Misery is generally self-caused. But I do take time to carer for others where I can help, donating roughly 20% of my increase and about 10 hours per week.

Uh huh, and aren't you an astronaut too?

If you felt the same, you wouldn't ask the questions... Nor would Ariana. As I said - Misery is generally self-caused.

Well, if I ever feel miserable, I'll take a big glass of fascism, that will cure me I'm sure LOL.

I guess Trump's rapid cognitive decline is contagious, you have descended into total incoherence in just 8 months.

Hey, you forgot to tell us about your big brain, lay some IQ on us man, and use the best words.

If bragging on social media is what it takes to make you happy, you have a long way to go to find true happiness. People who brag on social media are doing so because they lack purpose, meaning, and happiness, you are desperate to get something from strangers that you aren’t getting from the people who know you and your situation in real life. If you have to brag about all of the material things in your life, it's because there isn’t much more to it.

“Bragging is often merely a ladder we build for ourselves out of words when we are afraid we are not tall enough in the eyes of the world. It is an unwitting confession to low self-esteem.” - P. M. Forni

Try writing, then, with comprehension. You said Ariana had a question, then said she had four questions, then quoted questions, but left one un- quoted, so I, too, was vague, just following your lead, so cut the shit, shinoila, and let's just try to get along.

If you must know, my politics is officially stated in my State as "Independent," and unofficially as a Sermonist. You figure it out, so I'll appreciate you cease and desist of calling me MAGFA or fascist. I am neither. I voted for Trump in both three electins because I absolutely opposed Hillaryous Balloon Girl, Joe Biden and Joe Biden-less-Biden, and not because I was so thrrille with Donald Trump. Get it? One can vote against, you know.

LOL means "frightened little girl."

And in 8 months, yes, my gold and silver have increased in value substantially, ok? And my home & land value, as well. And my sloop. Sorry if your situation has not i proved as well, but I have naught to do with that.

I did not mention any medication, did I? if that is a problem to you, that's on you, my friend.

No, I am not an astronaut; just have an old autonomy merit badge, and continue that interest.

If I am so incoherent to you why do you keep replying? Fixted? Take a Tylenol

Yes. 10000%. Especially when the alternative was a Harris presidency. Or 4 more years of Biden.

I do notice gas has gotten cheaper where I live; groceries, not really.

Not having as much woke shit crammed down my throat is nice. Having less worry about cultural erosion due to endless migration is nice.

But all this ignores something more important: Principles. Even if the knowledge of deportations didn’t make me happier, it doesn’t change the fact that we shouldn’t have people who refuse to follow our laws in our country.

It doesn’t change the fact that allowing for endless migrants to enter the country is a bad idea. It doesn’t change the fact that transgenderism is a mental illness and normalizing it is a bad idea.

So, when you get down to it, even if these things didn’t make me feel any happier, they would still be good.

The question really isn’t a good question- it’s just emotional manipulation which can be easily dismissed.

I do notice gas has gotten cheaper where I live; groceries, not really.

That's because the economy is slowing down due to Trump's ridiculous tariff wars.

Not having as much woke shit crammed down my throat is nice.

It's not the government cramming it down your throat, it's businesses, entertainment, and academia. So by voting for Trump because of this and by celebrating his infiltration of all of these institutions to "kill wokeness", you are saying that you are very happy with government so big it infiltrates every part of your life. That doesn't make it wrong, but it is interesting as it is a complete 180 from everything we heard from republicans for decades.

it doesn’t change the fact that we shouldn’t have people who refuse to follow our laws in our country.

Then with are you ok with ICE deporting people right out of their immigration hearings? You do know those hearings are part of the legal process, which means the people showing up for them are following the law, right?

It doesn’t change the fact that allowing for endless migrants to enter the country is a bad idea.

Then why did Trump stop the bipartisan border deal last year?

It doesn’t change the fact that transgenderism is a mental illness and normalizing it is a bad idea.

Do you think demonizing and ridiculing the people experiencing gender dysphoria is better?

So, when you get down to it, even if these things didn’t make me feel any happier, they would still be good.

So to summarize, your life is better because of things that are almost entirely imaginary and/or have no tangible impact on your life, but make you feel better despite (or perhaps because of) the suffering of the people you are effectively scapegoating.

If I am misunderstanding you I am happy to be corrected. I would be pleased to learn that there is more to MAGA than a grievance and hate filled movement hell bent on who cares about nothing but purifying the country to their (mostly white nationalist) utopia. I just find it unlikely

He said even if those things did NOT make him feel happy, they would still be good (for your country I assume).

If I am misunderstanding you I am happy to be corrected.

I hope you feel happy then.

On your other points, knocking down your strawmans is super easy and barely an inconvenience.

1) Gas prices are always seasonal, so low prices in the fall compared to summer doesn't mean a recession is happening like your strawman suggests.

2) Your president literally outlawed racial quotas and declared an end to the special considerations for fringe lifestyles.

3) Your strawman saying ripping people out of courts and deporting them ignores the fact that deportation itself is an act of due process.

4) Your strawman about fighting "the border bill" ignores the fact that the bill itself was full of things that would make your existing laws harder to enforce and very costly to your American citizens.

5) Your strawman insisting the dysphoria problem your country has is a binary problem purposely ignores the obvious take of providing proper mental help instead of affirming or castigating them.

Additionally, the premise of the OP is ridiculous, claiming your president is causing "widespread suffering," which more likely is typical American partisan hyperbole than an actionable offense. Answering those "how long have you been beating your wife" type questions with faulty premises is clearly a sign of arguing in bad faith. But you shouldn't be putting faith in detached people anyway like the OP suggested we should. To me, the OP reads like a loaded list of grievances dressed up as a “gotcha.” It assumes all Trump voters only measure success by others’ supposed suffering, which is insulting, dehumanizing, oversimplifying, and logically broken.

During the campaign Kamala showed us the best of who she was, America didn’t believe her and assumed the worst.

I'd argue the opposite happened. She recently released a book I think it was titled 107 days. She addressed a lot of real things that happened during her campaign that were self-inflicted by her own admission. The tipping point event occurred when she could not come up with an answer to the question if she would do anything different than Biden. That wasn't even a gotcha question, more of a softball question. In her book she admitted she messed that up and likely cost her the election. She called it "pulling the pin on a hand grenade." So the problem isn't that voters didn't believe her. It's that her loyal supporters didn't want to believe she performed poorly during the 107 day campaign as she freely admitted in her own book. The undecided voters fully believed her though, judged her performance on the merits, and chose accordingly. In her own book, Kamala Harris freely admits to her own campaign mistakes, so an intellectually honest approach is to take her at her word rather than to defend an idealized version of her candidacy she herself says never existed. It's actually her die-hard supporters that refuse to believe Kamala, and assume the best.

Translation: These things DO make him happy, so I don't know what point you think you're making.

"Good" is entirely subjective, and he already gave us enough to deduce why he feels that way.

On your other points, knocking down your strawmans is super easy and barely an inconvenience.

Oh yeah, this will be good *yawn*

1) Gas prices are always seasonal, so low prices in the fall compared to summer doesn't mean a recession is happening like your strawman suggests.

I'm just going to turn this over to Google AI:

are tariffs resulting in low gas prices

AI Overview

Yes, recent tariffs have contributed to lower gas prices through a combination of reduced demand and lower crude oil costs, although the relationship is complex and not the sole factor. The tariffs can decrease consumer spending power on other goods, leading to less driving and lower demand for gasoline. Additionally, tariffs and the resulting economic uncertainty have pushed down the global price of crude oil, the main ingredient in gasoline, which has a significant impact on pump prices.

2) Your president literally outlawed racial quotas and declared an end to the special considerations for fringe lifestyles.

No, he didn't.

First of all, this isn't how American governance works, the president cannot "outlaw" anything.

Second, all he did was attack "DEI" which is just his latest paranoid delusion he managed to turn into a political boogeyman. DEI is nothing more than set of ideas aimed at improving awareness of what different people experience in the workplace. The point is to ensure we all understand the challenges people face in an effort to ensure equal treatment and opportunity. Nothing about that requires a "racial quota", that's affirmative action, which is an entirely different thing.

The right wing obsession with DEI is just the latest example of how these people love to be overtly racist without just admitting it.

3) Your strawman saying ripping people out of courts and deporting them ignores the fact that deportation itself is an act of due process.

First of all, you clearly do not even know what a strawman is.

Second, no one said anything about due process.

If you're going to claim that you love what Trump is doing by deporting all these people, and justify that by claiming these people are not following the law, then you need to address the fact that Trump is literally deporting people for following the law. That's what it means to target people for the crime of showing up to their own immigration hearings.

4) Your strawman about fighting "the border bill" ignores the fact that the bill itself was full of things that would make your existing laws harder to enforce and very costly to your American citizens.

Firstly, again, you don't know what a strawman is.

Second, nothing in the border bill made existing laws harder to enforce, that's just an egregiously stupid lie the right keeps peddling because they're a cult who cannot offend the dear leader.

The thing they love to pretend was the biggest issue is that the bill says the border can be shut down if the illegal crossings hit something like 5k a day. They frame it as if this is "allowing" 5k a day which is a lie. The bill sets a cap which grants the president the authority to shut down the border at that point, something that does not exist within current law.

5) Your strawman insisting the dysphoria problem your country has is a binary problem purposely ignores the obvious take of providing proper mental help instead of affirming or castigating them.

Still do not know what a strawman is.

I said nothing about a "binary problem", that my friend is what a strawman actually looks like.

"Proper help" is the very thing being debated so you haven't made a single point here.
