What's your take on violent protests?

The world is getting into violent times so some experts foresee more people protesting violently.

Protests is very common worlwide. Most of them are peaceful, but some are violent. I don't know very well how the American law adresses violent protests but in Europe the authorities are not so tough repressing violent protests, specially in France where police are disarmed and french people feel free to destroy whatever they want with impunity.

So, do you think violent protests are people's right or a crime? Lefties think it's people right to set fire on their country if they are unsatisfied with the work of their authorities. What do you think?

Violence is cool until I am the one it is used on. If population was smart, they wouldnt need violence. Apes have big muscles, but small brain.

What good is strength, when the brain is small?

Dont get me wrong, almost all people love violence. they crave it. this is why we cannot have peace.

But people without brain cannot achieve anything, even with violence. A monkey can punch something, he will still be a monkey.

The concept of "big muscles, small brain" is generally framed in terms of

energy trade-offs and specific survival advantages in nature. In evolutionary biology, larger brain mass requires a massive amount of energy (calories), so some species have evolved a physiology that prioritizes muscle mass and strength over brain size to suit their environment and survival strategy.

Yeah, that's because it pays so well.

We also like to torture puppies, kill babies, and lick cupcakes when nobody is looking.

Still waiting for the part where you substantiate this ridiculous claim.

Remind me who pardoned the January 6th rioters who beat up 140 Capitol police officers?

You have a terrible memory, pelado, That was Trump, your president.

I'm not denying there's always a political bias when addressing a protest. However, it's very common to hear from the left that the goverment shouldn't criminalize the violent protests. In Europe it's very common that violent protesters get cleared of charges after having destroyed public property. You can find the same figure in South America which is a bad copy of Europe.

I noticed that too. Something USA has in common with Europe is the censorship of critiques of left-wing violence. Meanwhile, there's endless annual rehashing of the old story of the Jan6 entrapment theater sting operation carried out by the Fedsurrection vs people asking questions and demanding answers. I'm surprised it's not a USA holiday at this point like Guy Fawkes Day in the UK. When powerful people censor, that means they want left-wing violence to happen. And it is indeed happening all over the world, not just the USA.

Isn't that something Jesus would say? if so, then Trump IS a true Christian!

I thought you enjoyed violence against those people, Christians, and little children. Are you from Nigeria? That would explain your violence.

I'm a bit doubtful that Leftists in general think that violent protests are fine.

Arguably some protests turn violent due to police intentionally or unintentionally provoking nonviolent protests.

Arguably other protests are depicted as violent, when they are not, or mostly are not.

. . .

Though I think some protests have been more violent that some people admit.

(However I lack reliable sources and statistics, for clear and certain viewpoint)

Course, once violence occurs at a certain degree, not quite a 'protest anymore, so much as a riot?

. . .

Political violence was one of the recent DebateCraft video topics.

Violent protest is not legal,

as the right to assembly is protected only for peaceful gatherings. Violence, including threats, assault, and destruction of property, is not protected and can lead to arrest. Police can intervene to stop a protest that becomes violent or endangers public safety.

  1. Right to peaceful assembly: Legal rights to protest, assembly, and expression protect peaceful activities only.
  2. Unlawful acts: Acts like physically impeding lawful activities, physical violence, threats, and destroying property are not protected and are illegal.
  3. Police intervention: Police have the authority to intervene when a protest becomes violent or poses a danger to public safety, and to ensure public safety.
  4. Legal consequences: Individuals participating in violent acts can be subject to arrest and charges. For example, charges like mischief can result in fines or imprisonment, depending on the circumstances.
  5. International law: Violence during protests is not protected by international human rights law, according to a UN expert.
