People who support trump dont usually consider him rapist at the same time.
And most people who are catholic definitely dont consider Catholic church a rapist organization.
Now, do "liberal women" think catholic church is a rapist organization? I am not sure if there is even survey on that issue.
they usually say catholic church has issues with some of its members being rapists, which isnt even exclusive to church, all organizations which are big enough have rapists in them. But people dont think whole church is a rapist organization. So if your definition of "rapist organization" is "organization which has rapists in it", then virtually all bigger organizations on Earth are rapist organizations.
Teacher rapists get arrested; not priest rapists.
Again, by same logic, you could call Japan rapist organization because most rape doesnt even get reported, and almost any other country too because there is probably no country where every rapist gets punished.
The Catholic Church was different, in that the priests raped little children.
Because that's the woman's problem for not reporting. Japanese women are submissive.
Its not a problem exclusive to Japan, women, or any country or organization. Rape happens everywhere, and unreported rape happens everywhere too. And covering up rape happens everywhere too (not reporting rape is basically covering up rape).
So again, its not something exclusive to catholic church. While I do agree that catholic church has somewhat bad history, its not like history is bright in other places.
Teacher rapists get arrested; not priest rapists.
there is a lot of sexual abuse which happens at schools and gets covered up. Students abusing students happens in almost every school in some way every day. And many other places have plenty of abuse: prisons, workplaces, homes... do we call all these rapist organizations too? Why is it just the church which gets this special label?
churches are intended as centers for morality, providing teachings, scriptures, and community to guide ethical behavior, emphasizing virtues like love, compassion, and justice, but whether they succeed is complex, as individuals interpret teachings differently and historical instances show the Church isn't infallible, with some arguing morality exists outside religion and others finding their core compass within church values.
Yeah you keep saying this and it's still a bullshit comparison. This is supporting a rapist vs supporting a global church that had a minority of rapists serving in it. This is "the rot is at the core" vs "the rot is at the extremities." This is "MAGA is a cult of personality built around Trump, who is a rapist" vs "the Catholic Church is a cult of personality built around Jesus, who was not a rapist."
Add to this that the priests in question have been defrocked by the Church, and the Church has at least put new policies in place for reporting sexual assault by clergy as well as a new zero-tolerance policy where any credible accusation now results in defrocking. They did it much too late, and damnably their first impulse was to cover it up, but at least they did it. Meanwhile there has been zero movement within MAGA to recognize, denounce, or prevent Trump's sexual trespasses.
Also lol wtf is up with "hate neither" as if hating both is not also a consistent option. Lots of liberals pick that one.
Zero tolerance policy in the U.S. started in 2002, but I think it was Pope Francis who implemented the church-wide mandatory reporting system, so that wouldn't have happened until more recently. Google says it was 2019. But this all only happened after a public backlash, which is why I say "too late". Prior to that churches just discreetly moved the pedophiles to a different diocese.
The Catholic Church, under Pope Francis, has declared a "zero tolerance" policy for child sexual abuse, aiming for immediate action, victim support, cooperation with law enforcement, and permanent removal from ministry for abusers, but critics argue the implementation is weak, lacking universal canonical laws for dismissal and often prioritizing appearance (bella figura) over truth, leading survivors and advocates to push for concrete, legally binding policies, greater transparency, and accountability for negligent bishops
