In a story that will surprise no one who has been paying attention, Trump actually told Norwegian leadership that him not getting the Nobel peace prize is a big contributing factor to his decision to threaten military action to take Greenland.

“According to both Bloomberg and Reuters, in his letter to the Norwegian leader, Trump wrote: “Considering your Country decided not to give me the Nobel Peace Prize for having stopped 8 wars PLUS, I no longer feel an obligation to think purely of Peace.”

Trump suggested peace “will always be predominant,” but added he “can now think about what is good and proper for the United States of America,” according to the letter.

I know it’s futile to expect anything better of Trump supporters, but seriously, are you guys still going to pretend this moron is who we need leading our country?

Trump is hoping to have the same outcome as Venezuela where he will attacked Venezuela and got Maria Corina Machado to give him her Nobel Peace prize. Norway has not hinted it will do the same.

Okay, now I support invading Greenland. This is kino.

Americans don’t know the value of Greenland, but when they hear it cost Trump a Nobel Peace prize they agree with Trump. Even Pence agrees Greenland should belong to America after hearing Trump’s argument.

I believed that was the case, but I never thought he would actually admit it. I also believe he attacked Venezuela because they gave it to María Corina Machado.

I didn't believe that racism runs deep enough in this country to elect a psychopath President, I was naive on that account..

Here’s the most complete version of the letter text that’s been reported (originally sent to Norway’s Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Støre and then shared with other European governments):

“Dear Jonas:
Considering your Country decided not to give me the Nobel Peace Prize for having stopped 8 Wars PLUS, I no longer feel an obligation to think purely of Peace, although it will always be predominant, but can now think about what is good and proper for the United States of America. Denmark cannot protect that land from Russia or China, and why do they even have ownership in the first place? There are no written documents, only that a boat landed there hundreds of years ago, but our boats also landed there, also. I have done more for NATO than any other person since its founding, and now NATO should do something for the United States. The World is not secure unless we have Complete and Total Control of Greenland.
Thank you!
President DJT”**

This is a great example of material from a second-hand source, no doubt taken up by news agencies as "verified by an expert"

Very familiar with sarcasm, and absolutely nothing about Trump’s words, delivery, or context suggests that’s what this was. That’s just MAGA cultist mindless defense.

Problem is, Iran thought Trump was being sarcastic.

Any evidence for that claim? No, of course not. And even if you did, how exactly does sarcasm help resolve tense international conflicts? I suspect no answer to that either.

Got to know how to read the man.

Yeah, my personal favorite. It’s not the responsibility of the President of the United States to speak clearly, it’s everyone else’s responsibility to figure out how to decode him.

And when other nations misread him, whatever conflict ensues is their fault.

When businesses misread him, whatever havoc is wreaked upon the stock market is their fault.

When US agencies misread him, whatever misconduct they engage in is their fault.

When pissed off supporters misread him, whatever damage they cause to the US Capitol and whoever dies as a result is their fault.

You say you’re not a MAGA cultist but you engage in all the classic nonsensical BS to defend him that they do. There is no excuse for allowing a narcissistic petulant child who has now put in writing for entire world that US foreign policy under him will be dictated by whether other countries sufficiently kiss his ass by giving him little prizes, to remain in office. And you’re absolutely pathetic for even pretending to not see that.

What part in particular makes you consider Trump a bad leader or a child?

This isn't sarcasm

. . . But arguments can be made for them being reasonable actions.

Even if they are not actions I support.

. . . . . . Trump has long been a showman, a celebrity, a drama queen.

One 'can make jokes to world leaders, claim petty reasons.

Why? Because they are not special.

(Still not something I support)

I doubt Trump truly wants Greenland because he didn't receive a noble peace prize,

It is just sarcasm, meanness, deflection, perhaps attempt at confusing, bamboozling.

Trump is a showman,

Seemingly a follower of the Nixon Madman Theory,

Has frequently made it a cornerstone of his policy to be absurd with high demands and actions, then walk it back to something smaller.

. . .

I recall reading in the Rise and Fall of the Third Reich,

How Hitler and his subordinates bullied Czechoslovak President Emil Hacha into accepting the terms Germany demanded.

https://ww2db.com/battle_spec.php?battle_id=88

Childish in a way, is a state of mind.

I don't think a woman wearing pants makes her manly,

I don't think old people playing video games makes them childish.

I 'do think Trump is childish,

But on another hand, he behaves as 'some adults do in social situations.

Or at least of how I 'think some do.

Apocryphal

"A lady came up to me one day and said 'Sir! You are drunk', to which I replied 'I am drunk today madam, and tomorrow I shall be sober but you will still be ugly.”

― Winston Churchill

It seems childish to resort to violence, but duels were once common in America.

I 'see Trumps behavior as childish, but that's only from 'certain perspective and culture.

. . .

When you say child, I get the feeling what you really mean is incapable, without plan.

But I can't tell if Trump has a plan of not.

Lot of people screamed about 2025 Thinktanks, so are there plans or not?

If something is childish but 'works, then in a way it was not childish.

(I do not support military invasion of Greenland)

There was some Chinese guy in antiquity who pretended to be crazy for years until he escaped.

It seems more 'manly to not act a dolt,

But by acting a dolt he was not executed, escaped, returned to power.

Perspective.

. . .

I don't know what Trump wants.

What he expects.

I see online comments claiming he's playing 4d chess, trying to get us kicked out of NATO, as he cannot leave it himself easily.

And various other theoreticals.

. . .

Bad Leader,

(Well I didn't vote for him)

But I think America 'would be stronger if we took Greenland,

(I don't support a military takeover of Greenland)

. . . Childish. . .

Presidents are people, and there are various stories and recordings of them acting so in private, crude jokes or prejudiced true views of situations.

A difference of Trump is that he is more open.

This appeals to some people I suspect,

They think what is so great about being a liar? (Being polite I mean, or not stating true thoughts, being diplomatic)

(Never mind all the other lies Trump tells)

Most Americans are not smarter than a 5th grader. That goes for all voters, not one tribe or another.

The uncomfortable part is realizing this isn’t fixable with “more facts” or shaming. It’s about incentives. If thinking carefully had the same payoff as yelling, virtue signalling, or violence, we’d see a very different electorate. Instead, AI is incentivizing even more skill atrophy among the electorate. You don’t get smarter by outsourcing judgment to AI or "experts" any more than you get stronger by watching someone else lift.

So when one is flippantly accusing others of having a childlike mindset, they likely don't know that the source of it comes from the bottom of the tree, not the top. It’s a learned adaptation across the entire population, allowing individuals to adjust to a modernized society that penalizes depth of thought and systematically rewards noise and chaos.

What part in particular makes you consider Trump a bad leader or a child?

The fact that he has nicknames for all of his political opponents, the fact that he speaks with the vocabulary of a third grader, the fact that he attacks reporters by calling them stupid every time he gets asked a tough question, the fact that he will say someone is a wonderful person then immediately do a 180 the moment they say something about him he didn’t like, the fact that he can’t ever admit to losing anything, the fact that he cannot tell the difference between someone disagreeing with him and someone rejecting him as a person, the fact that he sits up all night on social media throwing temper tantrums…

Is that enough?

I can't tell if Trump has a plan of not.

If you can’t tell, then he has clearly given no reason to believe he has one and every reason to believe he doesn’t. So why do you frame it like it’s a toss up? That defies logic and common sense.

I doubt Trump truly wants Greenland because he didn't receive a noble peace prize, It is just sarcasm, meanness, deflection, perhaps attempt at confusing, bamboozling.

Again, this is all just made up. Trump has been obsessing over the Nobel Peace prize for years, expressed clear frustration at Greenland after he didn’t win it, and has now said in writing that this is a contributing factor to why he’s taken the position he has towards acquiring it. To claim he’s just being sarcastic or that this is some grand strategy isn’t rational thinking, you’re just inventing reasons out of thin air to avoid taking any reasonable position.

Reply to your post #16;

And why wouldn't I respond that your claim above isn't just woke cultist mindless defense? Well, maybe because neither argument really expresses a direct rebuttal, but rather, is merely personal attack, and that is a losing argument. I have said this before and I tire of the repetition.

Any evidence for that claim? No, of course not.

Citation from the Institute for Science and International Security, dated 11/21/2025:

https://isis-online.org/isis-reports/comprehensive-updated-assessment-of-iranian-nuclear-sites-five-months-after-the-12-day-war

and a quote from the cited reference: "Overall, satellite imagery indicates that Iran's uranium enrichment program remains significantly set back. At present, Iran does not appear able to enrich uranium in any significant manner or make gas centrifuges in significant numbers. Iran’s key nuclear enrichment facilities, its facility to produce uranium hexafluoride (UF6) and its centrifuge manufacturing and research and development facilities remain severely damaged or destroyed." [bold and italic added for emphasis]

This is the long view off the effect of the US attack on Iran's nuke enrichment facilities, not a pathetic 6-day assessment offered by Iran, or yours, even 7 months later, apparently.

it’s everyone else’s responsibility to figure out how to decode him.

That's about the only true statement in your entire post, up to then.

When US agencies misread him, whatever misconduct they engage in is their fault. When businesses misread him, whatever havoc is wreaked upon the stock market is their fault. When US agencies misread him, whatever misconduct they engage in is their fault. When pissed off supporters misread him, whatever damage they cause to the US Capitol and whoever dies as a result is their fault.

Those are also true statements. Yes, understanding what any other person says is our responsibility to interpret correctly, if we bother to understand at all. Would understanding belong to no one? That seems to be your sarcastic intent.

The difference between you and I is that my insults are attached to actual substance. Yours, like your post 15, lacks a single thought worthy of utilizing any brain power to contemplate.

quote from the cited reference:

Yeah, nice try. Your claim wasn’t that Iran’s development facilities were destroyed, it was that the Iranian government believed Trump was exaggerating, implying that Trump’s chaotic style of foreign relations is some kind of strength. Total nonsense and of course you would have nothing to back it up.

Those are also true statements. Yes

Then you’re just an idiot and fundamentally unserious. Everything is everyone else’s fault but Trump’s. Ok bud, nothing MAGA cultish about that.

understanding what any other person says is our responsibility to interpret correctly, if we bother to understand at all. Would understanding belong to no one?

Understanding is a responsibility of everyone involved, but it always begins with the speaker, and when assessing how clearly the speaker communicates includes looking at their track record. With Trump even his own supporters can’t agree on what he’s saying, and they certainly cannot point to any consistent standard to figure it out. With him everything is rhetoric, until it is not. Joking, until it is not. Serious talk, until it’s not. The only standard with him is to judge his words in retrospect after he does or doesn’t do what he says, that’s how we find out for sure, and it’s the opposite of a clear communicator.

Why do you find joy in causing suffering? Seems like some sort of mental disconnect, it's really not normal. At some point you might want to ask yourself why provoking people is the only way you seem to regulate your dopamine.

the fact that he attacks reporters by calling them stupid every time he gets asked a tough question

I would like to see some examples of these so-called "tough questions."

Are they questions designed to clarify information, or a regurgitation of recycled talking points framed with faulty premises? Perhaps questions designed to shut down clarification? Is that what a "tough question" is?

Or are they designed to shut down all discussion entirely as though deflection and censorship are somehow components of journalism, and that’s why you’re using the word “tough”?

If so, that’s not journalism. That’s performative chaos masquerading as information-seeking.
