The government subsidizes farm animal food such that most of our crops are for farm animals. Meat is already a social ill in terms of efficiency and environmental effects. Why prop it up? If meat gets even more expensive who cares? Meat should only be a very small part of the human diet anyway.

My chicken farm never got 1 cent from government in my country. But it's a vegetarian farm, so no meat production at all. Just eggs.

No one is "encouraged" to over-indulge. Fat american women simply dont have dignity. If you are going to eat until you are 600 pounds each time food is easily available just because "it feels better", then you must wonder whats the difference between you and animal.
