Unsurprisingly, you continue to ignore the entire point of the thread so you can focus on the one part on my responses that you think you can own the lib on, and you still fail.

Oh? Then tell me why Democrats never seriously suggested Truman be removed for Korea, Kennedy for Vietnam; Johnson for escalating Vietnam and expanding to Laos, Cambodia and Dominican Republic; Carter to Iran, Clinmton to Somalia, Haiti, Bosnia, Herzegovina, Kuwait, Afghanistan, Iraq & Sudan; Obama to Afghanistan, Iraq, Syria.

First of all, this is pure whataboutism. You know he’s in clear violation of the constitution, don’t play stupid.

From the standpoint of impeachability, none of these examples are analogous. The offense is not the technicality that he engaged in a war without having that declaration of war vote. The offense is in how blatantly he did it.

Unlike the other examples, there was no imminence to this threat. Not only were the conditions such that the US could have easily taken their time debating a war powers resolution without losing their position, but then once the campaign began Trump has repeatedly joked about how it’s a war but he’s not allowed to say that because of legal problems. In other words, “I am blatantly violating the constitution and I don’t care”. The oath the President takes when he gets sworn in is to faithfully execute the laws. If violating that oath in such blatant and obvious fashion about literally the most serious aspect of his job isn’t impeachable then nothing is.

But we’re dealing with MAGA, so of course for Trump nothing is. But hey, tell me more about how impeachable his actions would have been if he lied about a blowjob.

For which Pelosi lobbed an impeachment [twice], which the Senate denied and acqitted.

Wow, Trump’s cult following republicans refused to convict him, you really got me there.

OJ was acquitted, so he was innocent right?

Besides, the corruption in his second term is unrecognizable compared to his first term, even MAGA readily admits that. So what is your point? Are you really denying that his corruption isn’t blatant and far beyond anything we’ve seen from any former president? Do you really need me to run through the list?

See the 1807 Insurrection Act [1807], which is an explicit exception to the Posse Comitatus Act

Which federal courts already ruled did not apply here.

You have merely made the claim that Trump violates the Constitution, as most of the left pundits who are supposed to know and demonstrate by evidence, but don't. I'll admit the right often does the same - it's pure political politics, which is not a science by any measure. That's the problem. Academia calls politics a science, but I've yet to see the evidence in 70+ years. They merely, as you, claim such. Such as the claim of 30k Trump lies. I see no list of lies to substantiate the claim. Never have. Never will. I see Psychology Today saying 30k lies in one year is about average. We [all of us] lie by nature, for all kinds of reasons.

Show me, don't tell me. How stupid is that, play or otherwise?

Blatantly? How dores history make sense of that. What is blatant? That he did it at all. So did all the examples I offered. You do it, or you don't. "Blatant" is a measureless qualifier. Mesaurement is science. Blatancy is,,, in the eye of the beholder. Something like beauty, yeah?

In the eyes of the law, YES. By what other measure does the Constitution offer? Sometimes, the law get's it wrong. It's not perfect. Neither is democracy. Big news. So be it. That's democracy. Is that why socialism [totalitarianism] is so popular among Dems today, sweeping their NY primaries last night? Why does NY think it's so smart? Because it's social?

See all above. We do not have a perfect system in America. Just the best system available for now. Socialism, even a Democrat version of it, is not the answer.

Marx, himself, was a deadbeat who depended on his friend, Engel's father's wealth virtually Marx's entire adult life, for himself, and his own family.. There's a success story for you: other peoples' money. That's where NY is going, full speed ahead, lookiong in the rearview mirror.

You have merely made the claim that Trump violates the Constitution, as most of the left pundits who are supposed to know and demonstrate by evidence, but don't.

The evidence is the fact that he’s doing it right in front of our face.

The United States is right now, at war with Iran. That’s a fact. Congress did not authorize this war. That’s a fact. The constitution grants only to Congress, the power to declare war. That’s a fact.

You do not need to be a constitutional law professor to figure this out.

Such as the claim of 30k Trump lies. I see no list of lies to substantiate the claim.

Because you don’t want to. The Washington post laid this all out and it’s publicly available. That aside, do you seriously deny this? When was the last time Trump spoke publicity for even a few minutes about anything without repeating a torrent of lies far beyond anything a fact checker would in real time even be able to keep up with?

How dores history make sense of that. What is blatant?

Blatant is that which we can easily see and/or deduce without a degree in history being necessary.

You really seem to be struggling with processing this claim. What is it you are finding so difficult in comparing this instance to any other and taking note of the obvious and significant differences?

In the eyes of the law, YES. By what other measure does the Constitution offer?

The other measure would be impeachment and removal from office.

I already explained this. Here, let’s walk through this together…

P1: The constitution says only Congress can authorize war.

P2: Donald Trump started a war without congressional authorization.

C: [Insert the conclusion that logical follows here]

And how does your claim match the several actions taken by Truman, Johnson, Carter, Clinton, Obama & Biden, as I addressed earlier, and if they are con trary to Consdtituti9onal muster, where were you, then?

For most of those I was either not alive or in elementary school.

Second, this is pure whataboutism. Whether other presidents violated the constitution is irrelevant to the question of whether this president is violating the constitution.

Third, if you want to know why this example is far more egregious than the others to the point it would be considered impeachable whereas the others are not, I already explained that to which you unsurprisingly ignored, only to pop up here now pretending to be interested in it. I am not writing it again. Here is what I wrote in post 32:

Unlike the other examples, there was no imminence to this threat. Not only were the conditions such that the US could have easily taken their time debating a war powers resolution without losing their position, but then once the campaign began Trump has repeatedly joked about how it’s a war but he’s not allowed to say that because of legal problems. No, you’re pretending because no one is this inept. I just googled “Washington post 30k lies list” and it was literally the first search result.

https://www.washingtonpost.com/graphics/politics/trump-claims-database/

Your heroes have already tried that. Twice. Failed twice. Go for three? Go ahead. Fail thrice.

I don’t really doubt that, but the failure isn’t on the democrats, it’s on republicans and the voters for failing what is essentially a national IQ test.

At no other point in American history would any president accused of such egregious behavior with even half the evidence available against Trump would have survived. Trump did because his followers are a cult and the rest of the country is too stupid to understand the level of BS Trump and his allies were selling here.

He’s the current president of the United States who’s robbing us all blind while making everything more expensive for us, tearing down institutions it took centuries to build and cultivate, ripping families apart because ewe brown, and taking us to a war no serious person anywhere in this country agrees with, certainly not Congress who never authorized it.

Trump is President, he's destroying the economy, ruining America's reputation as a world leader, using his position to rob the country, defacing the White House, working to discredit our democratic system, and tear down the Constitution to move toward fascism and dictatorship, and you think we should just ignore him? You are like a character in a Fellini movie, only more absurd.

Obama hasn't been in office in almost 10 years, and you are still obsessed, he lives rent free in your head, too bad you can't ignore Obama.

We had a black president over a decade ago and you are still traumatized by that, it's time to quit obsessing and just get over it. You've had your White Supremacist President now; it's time to quit being such a whiney baby about Obama.

He is the literal reason my annual bonus was half as the size of every other bonus I’ve received over the past 5 years - was enough of a hit to cost me two months worth of rent (after taxes).

I work in hospitality/tourism in NYC. Our attendance is down over 30% last month from PY, which was already down 14% from 2024. The reason why is not a secret, international travel to the US is down significantly since Trump took office. We have many business contacts from around the world who bring groups to the US every year who have flat out told us they’re not coming because of concerns over what’s happening here and even called out the way Trump has personally treated their country.

We haven’t been this slow since COVID, the only other instance in our lifetimes other than 9/11 to cause this. So it’s COVID, 9/11, and Trump.

So not only a major portion of my bonus, but our budget has been slashed so many of the perks like parties and free food that used to flow around the office all the time have all been slashed from budget. Hell, I was even told to cut back on nametags for new hires till they reach 90 days just to save money (didn’t last long, but still). None of this would be happening if Harris were our president.

Good enough?

Looks to me that it is by personal decision of international travelers not to travel here, not a Trump decision to refuse to allow them, other than if they come without a visa or permit to be here. That's called law enforcement, which Trump is obligated to manage by law, and which Biden chose to ignore.

We haven’t been this slow since COVID.

Are you forgetting the 2008 economic slump [No Trump], WWII, WWI, Pre-WWI flu epidemic, the Civil War [no Trump]... Boo-hoo.

So, did you spend or invest your prior bonuses? That was by your choice, too. Do not bore me further.

They’re not coming here, which means they’re not bringing their business here, which is costing us literally millions of dollars and billions nationwide, totally and directly because of Donald Trump.

That's called law enforcement, which Trump is obligated to manage by law, and which Biden chose to ignore.

No, it’s called being such a jackass that no one wants to visit a country just because you’re in charge of it. It is a historically monumental failure that is difficult to even express in words. We’ve never had a president so terrible at international relations that such a thing would result. If it were anyone else, you would be losing your effing mind and you know it.

And side note, I am always amused by the way you MAGA cultists love to talk about the importance of enforcing the law while defending a convicted felon.

Are you forgetting the 2008 economic slump [No Trump], WWII, WWI, Pre-WWI flu epidemic, the Civil War [no Trump]... Boo-hoo.

No, I said within our lifetimes. But it’s truly amazing that these are the events in history worthy of being compared to a Trump presidency. Talk about a self own.

So, did you spend or invest your prior bonuses? That was by your choice, too. Do not bore me further.

What I did out didn’t do with my prior bonuses is totally irrelevant to this conversation. The job of the president is to make the lives of the American people better, not to be the single event that they need to prepare themselves for financially.

You asked me how Trump is affecting me personally, you got your answer. Stop trying to deflect.

According to the US Bureau of Economic Analysis, foreign investors have a cumulative foreign investment position reaching $5.71 trillion. Uh, they do not have to come here to do that.

Since you insist on referring to your original point, and that "mental health experts have been warning us about for years" with regard to Trump's mental health, thought you'd like to demonstrate how these "mental health experts" have aligned with the National Library of Medicine's findings, and the

American Medical Association's "Goldwater Rule" on the ethics of diagnosis without direct consultation with the patient.

Specifically, I want to know how many of your "experts" have personally consulted with Trump; if not, their diagnoses are as full of shyte as you claim I am.

So much for what you may be full of, too, for making that claim of their "expertise." It is your original point, after all, isn't it?

Nice try. You know we're talking about tourism, which is a totally different thing from foreign business investment. And to the latter, the primary driver right now is AI, which Trump had nothing to do with. So you're giving Trump credit for that he didn't do while ignoring the catastrophy he singlehandedly created.

Sorry, Boyo, I am not MAGA.

And I'm not a leftist.

Tell me what "better" Oba'a and Biden did. Oba'acare didn't, nor did opening the border.

Obama made the economy so great that Trump was bragging about having the greatest economy ever weeks after being sworn in. Biden lead us through the best recovery from COVID from any of our peer nations. Both of them inherited messes left by republicans, both left economies on a clear upward trajectory, and both only lasted so long until Trump screwed them up.

Don't recall making that claim here, but sounds like something I'd say. Your point as I understand it, is that any mental health expert who opines on Trump's mental health is unethical because they are violating the Goldwater rule, thereby rendering their expertise meaningless. This is wrong. I would argue it's the most nobel thing they could do, because they're putting their personal well being in jeapordy in order to warn us.

The Goldwater rule is well intentioned, and probably the right approach most of the time, but that was created and institutionalized well before anyone ever imagined a caricature of Goldwater like Trump occupying the oval office. I would argue it's deeply outdated. People are going to talk about a man like Trump's mental state. All the Goldwater rule does is ensure that real experts in the field cannot be a part of them. That is not helping us as a nation.

But even then, you are still just wrong. There is a difference between a diagnoses and offering their expertise to point out why they are concerned about him. The Goldwater rule doesn't distinguish between the two but it's the former that it actually targets and would be unethical. The letter is what the overwhelming majority of the experts you are citing actually did.

Lastly, think of what it says that resort to this to defend Donald Trump. If you are so concerned about what mental health experts have to say about Trump's mental health it's either because you're afraid they'll reveal reality, or it's because you think they're getting him all wrong, because you don't think what we're all seeing with our own eyes is real. In other words, you think he's playing some sort of character, in which case no one knows who the hell he is. The guy the entire political right says is not a politician and it's instead the most honest man we've ever seen in politics is actually the biggest liar and con artist. You can't have it both ways, either the mental health observations are valid, or he is a deeply fake individual scamming you.

So no, I really don't care at all if they are violating this rule and no, it's not a reason to disregard what they have to say.
