All they cared about was that his persona drew in the largest donations compared to any other candidate; electability wasn't even an issue to consider. Maine with a population of about 1.5 million managed to donate over 10 million dollars to Platner, averaging about 300,000 dollars in donations per week in a tiny state like Maine. Dems have a spending problem, not only with government in general, but also with elections. Kamala blew through 1.18 Billion in 107 days. So she raised plenty of cash. For the DNC, it's all about the cash first, and the people last.
