I remember seeing this youtube vid of some spiritual dude who thought that he could outwit crocodiles with the power of the mind...So he jumped in the infested water, pretended to be super-spiritual, was promptly dragged under and never seen again.
Sad thing was, his mum was watching and pleading with him to not be such a stupid f**cker...What do mums know hey?
"People" as in the human species are undoubtedly clever and stupid.

I suppose that having a focus on honor as defined by others, can make one beholden to others in a sense.
Your self identity depending on 'other people's values, ideas, words.
Or have one's perception or values twisted by others or a pursuit of honor.
One might 'lose honor if one acquires it.
But again, I don't think that is 'wrong by itself. Just 'can be wrong.
Humans are social animals, highly effected and valuing peer pressure.
We 'rely on other humans to a large degree, to check our own mental state, sense of delusion.
Why 'shouldn't honor be something sought or given?
Ideally it rewards the worthy and shines a light on them for other people to emulate their actions.
Honor is generally seen as having behaved worthily,
What's 'wrong with enjoying the acclaim of others?
That we might 'lose their acclaim?
I think life is gain and loss,
There is much nice to acquire in it, even if it may or must be lost someday.
It's nice while one has it, nice to look back on, or forward to.
A reason to move.
I still am a materialist, and think I 'am but this body.
I see a number of translation differences online about the empire/world and the body.
But you got the gist of it.
Money is useful.
And mind over situation, tends to have it's limits, I think.
Sure it's not 'bad to live a simple life.
But I think there's a medium a balance in the quality of life.
I have heard that some studies find that money tends to stop gaining a person happiness, once they reach a certain amount.

Not all...There are three major Crocodillian religions...Crocstian, Roman Crocolic and Croclam...Though none are vegetarian

And thought is an ongoing conscious strategy.
You have taken Taoism and constructed your own version of it.
If Taoism is a human thought process, it has to be different for each person who thinks differently.
