SCIENCE

scientifically, things that look like supernatural healings, healings that look impossible by standards of science, almost always happen to christians, barely not other religions, as far as we can see reported, anyway.

christian near death experiences seem to so commonly that they are a core experience of NDEs. a common theme. other religious content? it's so rare and hard to find, it's questionable what they indicate, a lot are too open to interpreation and a lot dont look reliable or credible. this was studied scientiically in the book "are near death experiences compatible with christianity?" we should also establish the crediblity of NDEs. with near death experiences, those look objectively credible, based on credible out of body experiences verifying events out of body at the time of death, with strict scientific controls to measure this. and blind people seeing for the first time while temporarily deceased. there's also less formidable evidence, like the fact that people met while on the other side are almost always dead relatives. why dont they see taylor swift if they are just hallucinating? why not more commonly living friends? dead friends? also, communication on the other side is almost always telepathic. if this was just a hallucination it would involve a lot more talking and other ways of communicating.

positive psychology also supports relationships and society and people as critical to well being and happiness. and, how overcoming hurdles furthers our purpose and gives our life meaning and purpose and happines, with helping people as jesus taught as the ultimate hurdles to aid in our fulfillment.

PHILOSOPHY

there's philosophical points, like the fact that it's ridiculous for atheists to think humans are nothing other than elaborate flesh robots, cause and effect. there's obviously something deeper going on. and, how the origination of life or human consciousness can't be explained in reasonable terms with just science as far as we can see.

other regligions. islam involves chopping off hands in the quran. that's obviously a false religion. it's often said how they involve cutting off heads and getting a bunch of virgins at death. more stuff that's obviously false. buddhism talks about escaping suffering, but it's actually embracing suffereing for the greater good, love, that is most virtuous. it's also more compatiable with NDEs where the highest virtues are love. this basic approach can be applied to all other religions... only christianity emphasized in the way that it does, embracing suffering, for love, for the greater good, and praying for your enemies. other religions either dont emphasize these things or do so in inferior ways. like, islam is about obedience and love is only good when it's helpful to the person. all religions fail to emphasize virtues in the way that christianity does in the way that's most compatible with NDEs.

Christianity gave us dudes such as Stalin and Hitler. As for experiences, those claims arent scientifically observable. Otherwise, you could claim Zeus raped half of Greece. As for miracle healings, those happen everywhere. People beat cancer even when doctors give low chances. If Christians have miracle healings, maybe you can prove it by curing cancer?

What is in scripture, and what is or was actually practiced are two different things; an idea you do not explore as you speak against other religions. It was Christians who, over a thousand years ago, engaged in self-flagilation, asceticism, as an attempt to purify themselves, totally ignoring, even denying that Christ already atoned for them and such practice snubbed his effort. Asceticism is not repentance, and is not rewarded but forgiveness. It was Christians who engaged the Inquisition in the 12th - 18th centuries against themselves. It was Christians who went to the Holy Land in the 11th - 13th centuries centuries in the Crusades to restore Christianity by unspeakable violence. It was Christians who established Malleus Maleficarum [Hammer of Witches] in the 15th century, accusing and burning women and children for alleged witchcraft. Cathollics and Protestants have been at each others' teeth to this day, such as in Ireland, but also just about everywhere Christians gather, including in the US. In the Unired States, no other subject has occupied so many Supreme Court cases as the first amendment's "freedom" of religion, as if it is anything, but. And that, mostly at the door of Christianity. We call Jesus the Prince of Peace, but we have made of him the Prince of Pieces.

It is past time to change the tune.

No, they gave themselves, just happening to come from a Christian background, but they obviously left that behind as they began their hunger for power and authority over being meek and loving their enemies. It is blindness of that personal abandonment to accuse that Christ drove them; they drove themselves, just as those among us drive themselves by their own choices who are, likewise, hungry for power, pride, and possession..

Remember that there has been 195,035,000 deaths in the name of religion. Religion is part of evolution to eliminate stupid people.

Hmmm, Rev. Jim Bakker or Stephen Hawking?

The claim that Christianity is the only true religion, scientifically and philosophically, is a subjective belief held by some Christians, not a scientifically or philosophically established fact

. While Christianity has historically fostered scientific inquiry, the validity of its theological claims cannot be proven or disproven by scientific methods. Philosophically, the question of religious truth is complex, with most philosophers and many Christians holding diverse views, and any argument for Christianity's sole truth relies on presuppositions rather than universally accepted evidence.

No, they gave themselves

If I can mention good things my religion is correlated with, surely Christians can mention bad things their religion is correlated with.

Yes, just on the atonement, I find a wide variation of Chrtistian belief on what that is, what it accomplished, and for whom.

For example, I believe tha atonement of Jesus Chgrist utterly dispensed with the con celt of original sdin; that no one suffered for the Fall of Adam & Eve. To think so takes from Christ the very act of atonement, which effect is infinite for those who accept it.

I though Christianity was supposed to be derived from the Bible and the teaching of the Christ, this has nothing to do with either, what is your Christianity based on?

In the Bible, when Jesus was asked what was most important about his teaching, he summarized it all into two principles, love God and "Love thy neighbor as you love thyself". The only way you can actually love your neighbor as you love yourself, is to understand that his faith is to him, what your faith is for you,

Jesus was explicitly saying we must transcend such petty divisiveness as yours in recognition of our solidarity with the whole of reality, and express it with universal love, loving our neighbor as we love ourselves, with the understanding that their faith is to them as our own faith is to us.

It's clear that Jesus wanted us to transcend the realm in which our own materiality is located and adopt a perspective that defines life as good in terms of the contribution made to others. I believe Jesus was telling us to transcend our own ego consciousness and extend our awareness and being to include the experience created in others. In the Bible version of Christianity, Jesus and his followers had overcome consciousness of material being and entered a completely different realm, a spiritualistic realm, He was showing us the way to a realm in which we are truly one with our fellow man.

That’s what the Bible says, you should try reading it, it’s a good book.

BTW, what is your Christianity based on?

Did jesus teaching help him? Jesus was charged with blasphemy and crucified. So were his disciples.

Polemics much? Jesus said to take up our crosses and follow him. He said to love our neighbors. This is exactly what im saying. You seem to think the fact im not being koombuya about other religions im missing something. Jesus said he came to bring division and that those who reject the gospel are condemned. This hardly sounds like kumbuyya. The way I framed the other religions are factually correct. What fault do u find? U just give abstractions and polemics, almost wasnt worth responding to, but I know u r better capable than that as a debater

Just because the followers of jesus are corrupt doesnt indicate anything about jesus himself. I dont know why you feel compelled to share what you have, maybe you just what to give me food for thought, in which case, I understand

Puffy much?

1 Corinthians 8:1-2

Now as touching things offered unto idols, we know that we all have knowledge. Knowledge puffeth up, but charity edifieth. And if any man think that he knoweth any thing, he knoweth nothing yet as he ought to know.

John 14:2

In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.

1 Corinthians 4:5

Therefore judge nothing before the time, until the Lord come, who both will bring to light the hidden things of darkness, and will make manifest the counsels of the hearts: and then shall every man have praise of God.

Re: your #16:

I was referring to corrupt Christians. Christ was not corrupt; he lived a perfect life. Some Christians throughout history have been corrupt and attacked others [other Christians, and non-Christians, believing in their corruption they were doing God's will when God clearly wants us to get along with all others ["love your enemies"]. Doesn't mean we must agree and accept, just get along without malice.

John was not martyred because

God intervened to protect him, saving him from a boiling oil bath, and instead exiled him to Patmos where he wrote the Book of Revelation. He lived to a very old age, dying naturally around 100 AD, possibly to complete a special work for God or care for Mary, Jesus' mother, making him the only apostle to die of natural causes rather than by martyrdom.
