When I was a kid, I was brainwashed into this belief that there are good people and evil people. I actually believed until about age 5 that good people cannot be evil, and that evil people cannot be good.

However, then I started to notice that most people are neither evil nor good, but some combination of those two.

Also, depending on how you define good and evil, same people and same actions can be good and evil at the same time, as definition changes.

I also notice that world is designed in a way that only people who are combination of good and evil are the ones who succeed in overwhelming number of cases.

there is no politician who never did a bad thing, and there is no politician who never did a good thing.

In this way, Satanism is true because it teaches balance between good and evil, just like world is filled with good and evil, the God which created it is likewise both good and evil.

Good literally makes up for evil. If you are pure evil, people will attack you. But if you are pure good, you will always be used and abused because you appear weak and most people have some evil in them willing to take advantage of you.

In this sense, consequentialism is true. this is why politicians who do more good than evil get away with their evil actions.

Also, by consequentialism, person who does evil, but does more good than evil, will always be justified person.

tho it depends on what people think of as evil and what people think of as good.

However, I dont understand why most people pretend to be pure good when they are not even close to that. It is impossible to be pure good because you will always be bad to someone.

It is time to rethink the Universe.

People want to be good

due to a combination of biological, psychological, and social factors, including an innate desire for happiness and belonging, the experience of "helper's high," and the pursuit of personal values and a positive legacy. Being good can lead to positive relationships, a sense of purpose, and the avoidance of negative emotions like guilt.

There is zero redeeming value to anything Satan proposes. mostly because all Satan does is oppose, not propose.

Yes, Satan can tell the truth, and often does. The fault therein is that truth is used by Satan as a hook that has the singular objective of deception to drag us to think and do evil things.

Yes, the saying "the devil sometimes speaks the truth" is

based on the idea that while Satan is the father of lies, he can use truths to create more deceptive lies. He mixes truth with falsehood, or uses a truth out of context, to lead people astray, a tactic sometimes called using a half-truth. This makes his lies more believable because they contain elements that are factually correct.

Seems to work very well.

For now, yes, it does. Never said it doesn't. But, that is going to change, because Satan is not in ultimate control, and never will be. God allows Satan his limited share of free will [for example, we have the power to will him gone from us, ifwe choose to employ it], as well as we are offered it to its fullest extent, and always have been.

there is "Draconian Ritual Book" by Asenath Mason, which is my favorite. It includes symbols, and deities such as Lucifer, Lilith, Draconian, Arachne, as well as rituals and magic and meditations.

Just glanced through it online, not for me.

But mildly interesting to see what one book from one branch of Satanism looks like.

I don't know why, but Satanism in general, and this branch in particular. Throws me off more than would some other belief systems.

I think I read early in the book, the claim that none of the gods or rituals were 'real.

But why practice or think on it deeply then?

Well, people appreciate parables and metaphors I suppose, symbols, chants and litanies.

But there's something about that Satanism that bothers me more than would a Jedi or Sith book.

Then again, I've never read a Jedi or Sith book, maybe they come off as pretentious and edgelord.

. . . Can't say I have much interest in the branch of Satanism The Satanic Temple or the non Satanic Pastafarianism, both 'usually parody religions.

I just don't get it I guess, and the trappings seem counterproductive to their purposes to me.

. . . Perhaps even though being an Atheist, I am mildly serious about religion, truth, and history, and dislike what I see as muddling muddying of waters.

Of the book you spoke,

Perhaps it's the esoteric phrasings?

The use of words such as magic?

I enjoy the music of various Warhammer religions well enough, even the evil ones.

In response to the topic.

"Why do people want to be good? Satanism is true?"

Empathy I'd suppose, love and concern for others.

Though other reasons for such can occur at times.

Satanism being true, depends on what it is claiming.

Humans are fairly socially cooperative caring animals by nature and nurture, it's a response we're often used to seeing in other humans, and feeling in ourselves. A Nurture or a Habit we value in ourselves and others. One we often just 'react on.

"To show innate goodness, Mencius used the example of a child falling down a well.

Witnesses of this event immediately feel alarm and distress, not to gain friendship with the child's parents, nor to seek the praise of their neighbors and friends, nor because they dislike the reputation [of lack of humanity if they did not rescue the child]...

The feeling of commiseration definitely is the beginning of humanity; the feeling of shame and dislike is the beginning of righteousness; the feeling of deference and compliance is the beginning of propriety; and the feeling of right or wrong is the beginning of wisdom.

Men have these Four Beginnings just as they have their four limbs. Having these Four Beginnings, but saying that they cannot develop them is to destroy themselves."

I think the Bible 'frequently acknowledges that humans are not perfect.

But it still often seems a fine goal to strive for.

In many people there is a seemingly natural urge for good.

Evil I 'think in the Bible, is often seen as self destructive, whether in gaining a person enemies, guilt, or fear.

"if you are pure good, you will always be used and abused because you appear weak and most people have some evil in them willing to take advantage of you."

-SatanLucy

I suppose a person 'can be taken advantage of, though I'm not sure I agree that being good requires letting others take advantage of you.

I think a fair amount of argument can be had for self defense in the Bible.

"However, I dont understand why most people pretend to be pure good when they are not even close to that. It is impossible to be pure good because you will always be bad to someone."

I don't hang out with people too much.

I can't 'recall ever meeting someone who acted as though they were pure good.

Though I am sure such people are around, who are pretentious.

And I'm sure there are people around who 'are 'very good, 'without being pretentious.

I've not done much bad in life, but the memories of small harms to others bothers me at times.

Seems restful to be good,

. . .

Seems a. . . 'painful yearning at times, that the world should be 'right.

It always results in that. Do good to others, people get used to it and start depending on you. Its why giving to charity results in many people abusing charity by starting to rely on it instead of being motivated to help themselves. Any time you help anyone, you reduce the general motivation of people for self-improvement. When you give money to poor person, you are reducing his incentive to escape poverty by reducing negative consequences of poverty. there is no good you do which isnt followed by evil. When you remove evil from a person, person and others fail to learn the lesson.

I do not think it is wrong to help others, I do not think it is as a rule harmful to oneself or others.

Mencius, child and the well.

Berean Standard Bible

"Rescue those being led away to death, and restrain those stumbling toward the slaughter."

Perhaps sometimes one helps another by letting them stand on their own feet.

'Many other times, a helping hand is what is good, and not harmful or enabling.

@#17

Do you then take the talk of gods and magic literally?

What is accomplished in it more than can be explained by science?

That is the best way to help others. The alternative leads you into situation where they depend on you, and basically makes them incapable. Kafka methamorphosis book explains this well.

I believe those Gods exist, and I believe rituals work.

Science isnt about explanations. Plenty of things cannot be proof explained by science (explaining and proving the explanation are two very different things. Science doesnt do "explaining". It at best proves, at worst gathers evidence.), but I am not sure what are you asking me here. If you are asking if I can present something which you will then fabricate an explanation for, I am afraid I have no point in doing that. People who do these rituals see their effect on their lives.

Oh I don't know, I thought Gregor's family managed to take care of themselves rather capably, once Gregor stopped being the provider.

My take on the book was that Gregor developed a mental illness.

That the book was a take on societies and families during that time period having difficulty knowing how to treat such, the strain it can take.

But there's more than one interpretation.

For myself, science is many things, explanations, evidence, probably so, probably not, maybe so, maybe not.

For me, science is philosophy, is observation, rationalization.

(But each to their own)

"People who do these rituals see their effect on their lives."

-SatanLucy

I imagine people often do.

But observation, cause and effect interest me.

'Why something has an effect interests me.

Course, any questions can be reversed upon myself and my own various beliefs I suppose.

But that doesn't bother me, I explore my own beliefs and their origins at times.

I am not asking you to answer the below, as it does not appear to be your interest, I only mean to expound upon my thoughts.

Why do these Gods exist?

How so do they exist?

What are they?

What form?

How long have they been?

How many?

Where from?

What human providence has brought about or kept their information unto now?

What do the rituals 'do for you?

How?

Why?

Where'd they come from?

Your book and all it's pages were 'specifically put together, because the author and various buyers saw 'purposes in the various pages I imagine. Utility.

It's common of humans to have 'some understanding of why they use a tool, how it functions and effects, what purpose it serves.

. . . I suppose some tool use can be subconscious, mental tools for instance, coping skills one picks up natural like without noticing.

But a 'book, a book is an external tool, as deliberate as picking up a wrench at times, I'd say.

To pick up a wrench,

use proper grip and leverage by grabbing the handle as far from the jaws as possible to ensure control and avoid injury. For safety, always wear safety glasses, position your body to maintain balance, and ensure the wrench is properly seated on the fastener before applying pressure.
