Just glanced through it online, not for me.
But mildly interesting to see what one book from one branch of Satanism looks like.
I don't know why, but Satanism in general, and this branch in particular. Throws me off more than would some other belief systems.
I think I read early in the book, the claim that none of the gods or rituals were 'real.
But why practice or think on it deeply then?
Well, people appreciate parables and metaphors I suppose, symbols, chants and litanies.
But there's something about that Satanism that bothers me more than would a Jedi or Sith book.
Then again, I've never read a Jedi or Sith book, maybe they come off as pretentious and edgelord.
. . . Can't say I have much interest in the branch of Satanism The Satanic Temple or the non Satanic Pastafarianism, both 'usually parody religions.
I just don't get it I guess, and the trappings seem counterproductive to their purposes to me.
. . . Perhaps even though being an Atheist, I am mildly serious about religion, truth, and history, and dislike what I see as muddling muddying of waters.
Of the book you spoke,
Perhaps it's the esoteric phrasings?
The use of words such as magic?
I enjoy the music of various Warhammer religions well enough, even the evil ones.

In response to the topic.
"Why do people want to be good? Satanism is true?"
-SatanLucy
Empathy I'd suppose, love and concern for others.
Though other reasons for such can occur at times.
Satanism being true, depends on what it is claiming.
Humans are fairly socially cooperative caring animals by nature and nurture, it's a response we're often used to seeing in other humans, and feeling in ourselves. A Nurture or a Habit we value in ourselves and others. One we often just 'react on.
"To show innate goodness, Mencius used the example of a child falling down a well.
Witnesses of this event immediately feel alarm and distress, not to gain friendship with the child's parents, nor to seek the praise of their neighbors and friends, nor because they dislike the reputation [of lack of humanity if they did not rescue the child]...
The feeling of commiseration definitely is the beginning of humanity; the feeling of shame and dislike is the beginning of righteousness; the feeling of deference and compliance is the beginning of propriety; and the feeling of right or wrong is the beginning of wisdom.
Men have these Four Beginnings just as they have their four limbs. Having these Four Beginnings, but saying that they cannot develop them is to destroy themselves."

"In this way, Satanism is true because it teaches balance between good and evil, just like world is filled with good and evil, the God which created it is likewise both good and evil."
-SatanLucy
I think the Bible 'frequently acknowledges that humans are not perfect.
But it still often seems a fine goal to strive for.
In many people there is a seemingly natural urge for good.
Evil I 'think in the Bible, is often seen as self destructive, whether in gaining a person enemies, guilt, or fear.
"if you are pure good, you will always be used and abused because you appear weak and most people have some evil in them willing to take advantage of you."
-SatanLucy
I suppose a person 'can be taken advantage of, though I'm not sure I agree that being good requires letting others take advantage of you.
I think a fair amount of argument can be had for self defense in the Bible.

"However, I dont understand why most people pretend to be pure good when they are not even close to that. It is impossible to be pure good because you will always be bad to someone."
-SatanLucy
I don't hang out with people too much.
I can't 'recall ever meeting someone who acted as though they were pure good.
Though I am sure such people are around, who are pretentious.
And I'm sure there are people around who 'are 'very good, 'without being pretentious.
I've not done much bad in life, but the memories of small harms to others bothers me at times.
Seems restful to be good,
. . .
Seems a. . . 'painful yearning at times, that the world should be 'right.
