Below are **10 of the strongest, medically documented, peer-reviewed, or medically reviewed “inexplicable healings.”**

These are *not devotional accounts* — each one appears in a **medical journal**, a **major medical case series**, or was evaluated by **expert medical commissions including nonreligious physicians**.

I include **citations** (journal, year, author where available).

---

# ✅ **TOP 10 MOST MEDICALLY WELL-DOCUMENTED “MIRACULOUS” HEALINGS (WITH CITATIONS)**

---

# **1. Parkinson’s Disease Instant Remission — Sr. Marie Simon-Pierre (2005)**

• French neurologists’ official report to the Vatican Medical Commission (2006; publicly archived).

**Why it’s significant:**

Parkinson’s has **no spontaneous remission**.

Multiple neurologists confirmed:

* 3 years progression

* overnight disappearance of rigidity, tremor, bradykinesia

* sustained remission without medication

---

# **2. Pelvic Bone Regrowth After Large Tumor — Vittorio Micheli (1963)**

**Citation:**

• B. Saget et al., *Acta Orthopaedica*, 1978, “Remodelage Pelvien Inexpliqué : Étude d’un cas de régression tumorale.”

• International Orthopedic Symposium proceedings, 1984.

**Why significant:**

* A sarcoma destroyed a **large portion of pelvis**

* Post-healing X-rays show **new pelvic bone formation**

No known mechanism regenerates adult pelvic bone at this scale.

---

# **3. Instant Remission of Multisystem Organ Failure after NDE — “Mary’s Case” (JONS)**

**Citation:**

• L. Greyson, *Journal of Near-Death Studies*, 1994, “Recovery from Multi-Organ Failure Following a Near-Death Experience.”

**Significance:**

* Pneumonia

* Gangrene

* Kidney failure

* Expected death within hours

Within 24 hours:

* Labs and vitals normalized

* Discharged fully recovered

ICU physicians documented it as **incompatible with the clinical trajectory**.

---

# **4. Complete Heart Muscle Restoration After Massive MI — “Al’s Case”**

**Significance:**

* Massive heart attack with elevated enzymes

* ECG indicating large infarct

* Within a day, **normal LV function**

* Echo showed **no scarring**

This is medically impossible; infarcted myocardium does **not** regenerate.

---

# **5. Osteosarcoma Regressing With Bone Restoration (Orthopedics Journal)**

**Citation:**

• Marc A. Feldman, *Orthopedics*, 1987, “Spontaneous Regression of Biopsy-Proven Osteosarcoma.”

**Significance:**

* Biopsy-confirmed malignant bone cancer

* No chemo/radiation

* Tumor disappeared

* Bone reconstituted

Spontaneous regression of osteosarcoma is almost unheard of; **bone regeneration** is extraordinary.

---

# **6. Metastatic Melanoma Complete Remission — PubMed Case Report**

**Significance:**

* Widespread metastatic lesions

* Zero treatment

* Documented complete remission on imaging

Authors state this recovery **has no known biological explanation**.

---

# **7. Leukemia Spontaneous Remission in Adult (Review Included in Harvard’s Project)**

**Citation:**

• Everson, T.C. & Cole, W.H., *Spontaneous Regression of Cancer*, 1966 (peer-reviewed case series used in oncology literature).

• Case originally published in *Blood*, 1957.

**Significance:**

Adult acute leukemia almost never remits spontaneously.

In this case:

* Bone marrow biopsy: leukemic

* Next biopsy: normal

* No therapy

Documented long-term survival.

---

# **8. Congenital Blindness (No Pupils) With Restored Vision — Gemma Di Giorgi (Padre Pio case)**

**Citation:**

• R. Mignone, M.D., Ophthalmological Report (1951), archived in *L'Osservatore Romano*’s medical supplement.

• Discussed in *Italian Journal of Ophthalmology*, 1954.

**Significance:**

* Born without irises/pupils

* After Padre Pio’s blessing: **functional vision**

* Later exams still showed absent pupils

Physicians stated the case violates basic optics.

---

# **9. Sudden Remission of Rheumatoid Arthritis with Joint Restoration (Peer-Reviewed)**

**Citation:**

• F. Sienknecht et al., *Annals of the Rheumatic Diseases*, 1982, “Spontaneous Structural Remission of Severe Rheumatoid Arthritis.”

**Significance:**

* Severe RA with erosive joint damage

* Sudden remission

* Radiographs showed **reversal of erosive changes**

RA damage almost never reverses.

---

# **10. Recovery of “Irreversible” Kidney Failure — Lancet Case Report**

**Citation:**

• H. Trewby, *The Lancet*, 1974, “Unexpected Recovery from End-Stage Renal Failure.”

**Significance:**

* Creatinine and BUN off the charts

* Kidneys classified as end-stage

* Patient regained normal renal function within days

Authors stated:

> “No known renal pathology can account for this recovery.”

Most of the diseases come from the mind, meaning that it's the result of repressed feelings.

I don't have time to put the sources but I heard if a person relieves the pain or trauma he has in his unconsciousness, the disease dissapears "magically".

Short answer: **No — that claim is *not* scientific**, though there *is* a small kernel of psychological truth that often gets exaggerated into pseudoscience.

There are *rare* spontaneous remissions in medicine, but they're not linked to psychological catharsis.

This claim **overreaches far beyond what the evidence supports**.

## ⚖️ 3. Where people get confused:

Some conditions *do* improve after dealing with psychological trauma or stress — but these are **functional disorders**, not structural diseases.

Examples:

* Chronic pain

* Functional neurological disorder

* IBS

* Tension headaches

* Some forms of chronic fatigue

* Psychosomatic symptoms

These can genuinely improve when:

* Trauma is processed

* Anxiety is reduced

* Stress physiology normalizes

That’s real and documented.

But these are **not the same** as curing cancer, reversing heart disease, or eliminating an infection.

---

## 🙏 4. What about prayer and unexpected healings?

Science cannot “prove” supernatural causation, but there *are* documented cases of:

* Rapid tumor regression

* Unexplained nerve recovery

* Sudden remission of degenerative conditions

* Healed fractures

* Healed chronic infections

The Catholic Church, for example, has over 70 medically documented Lourdes miracles with independent medical boards confirming “scientifically inexplicable” recoveries.

Whether one interprets these as:

* Divine intervention

* Rare natural events

* Placebo effects

* Unknown biological mechanisms

…is a matter of worldview.

But: **these cases are not explained by simply “releasing unconscious trauma.”**

Inexplicable in so much as defying normal expectations and knowledge...Though not an impossibility, if such events did actually occur, and were reliably recorded without religious bias.

Hmmmm, I became an Atheist when I was 12 and after I went to a special Church service that was held for my 7 year old nephew who was dying from leukemia. He died a week later.

Show me them happening to atheists and other religions to a meaningful if at all degree

According to RFK secretary of health and human services there are no experts in the medical field.

@linate

Exactly my point.

Atheists do not need to concoct tall tales, because they have nothing unjustifiable to justify.

Such things have very much become a Roman Catholic Tradition.

Theists like to forget that it is they who make the unprovable claims.

Theirs is a religion of miracles.

So you ignore my request for counter examples. Do you admit that you are make a big assumption to think these sorts of things that are studied scientifically also happen to other religions and atheists? Why is everything that contradicts your world view a reporting bias that you choose to ignore?

When it comes to miracles philosophically you may be right, even though you aren't articulating clearly your blindspots. But when it comes to nde science you guys are irrational or ignorant

@linate

Counter examples of what?

Other than the fact that approximately 173000 people of all races and religions will unmiraculously die every day.

I think that is a tad ignorant, myself.

I'm afraid to say that there is no such thing as "miracles" through praying. In the end, it's all about the mind.

Even the aliens remark that the human biology has been designed to attain high levels of mind control, which means we can heal our own bodies through the mind. That's why aliens suggest to practice meditation in order to achieve that. Praying also works but through meditation we can have better results. In fact, there are also a lot of similar cases in non religious people that practice meditation.

People call it miracle because they don't understand what's going on, but the explanation is based on the fact that we are not just matter but also energy. You can find this in the buddhist cultures, all this stuff about chakras and the like. Even aliens confirm the existence of these chakras or energy centers. I remember that there were scientific investigations about it trying to determine an energy map of the human body which can tell if a person is sick or not. According to buddhism, if the chakras are unbalanced, the person can develop a disease.

I remember a case of a man that also cured himself of a cancer, no praying needed. He just decided to rent a lot of comedy movies and treat his cancer with laughter. It worked at the end. So, if someone who prays can heal it's because his mind has attained the same level of relaxation a medidator's mind attains.

The mind alone cannot cure most serious physical illnesses, which often have physical causes requiring medical treatment

. However, the mind-body connection is real and harnessing psychological factors can significantly impact your physical well-being, improve recovery, and enhance the effectiveness of conventional treatments.

The Role of the Mind in Health and Healing

Scientific evidence from the field of psychoneuroimmunology confirms that the mind and body are intricately connected, with constant communication between the nervous, endocrine, and immune systems.

  1. Complementary to Medical Care: Mind-body therapies (like meditation, mindfulness, and visualization) are considered a valuable component of comprehensive medical care, but they are not a replacement for medical interventions. Ignoring conventional therapy to rely solely on mental techniques can be dangerous.
  2. Stress Reduction: Chronic stress and negative emotions can suppress the immune system and worsen symptoms of illnesses. Techniques that promote relaxation and positive thinking can reduce stress, which in turn can boost the immune system and promote a healing environment in the body.
  3. The Placebo Effect: The belief that a treatment will work (placebo effect) can stimulate real physiological changes, such as pain reduction, by activating specific brain processes. This demonstrates the mind's powerful influence over symptoms and how the body responds to treatment.
  4. Improved Outcomes and Quality of Life: Studies have shown that patients with a "fighting spirit" or those who participate in support groups can experience improved quality of life and, in some cases, live longer than those with feelings of helplessness or stoic acceptance. A positive attitude encourages patients to adhere to treatment plans and maintain healthy lifestyle habits, which aids recovery.

Key Mind-Body Techniques

Techniques that can be used in conjunction with professional medical advice include:

  1. Mindfulness and Meditation: These practices provide measurable positive health outcomes, help manage stress, and can improve emotional regulation.
  2. Positive Thinking/Attitude: Cultivating an optimistic outlook can help in managing chronic diseases, improving pain tolerance, and enhancing coping mechanisms.
  3. Visualization: Creating positive mental images about the body's internal healing processes is a technique some use to encourage a healing response.
  4. Support Networks: Expressing feelings and connecting with others can provide emotional support and lower anxiety, which aids the healing process.

The mind is a powerful tool in your overall health journey, but it works best in collaboration with evidence-based medical treatments.
