I totally forgot about the fact that Kohai claimed DP1. I think that builds way more of a barrier to Pie being recruited than Rex being the original scum partner. Right now I am more confident in Rex being scum than Pie or David. Pie is not off my watch list, but I think that ref has a worse case for him considering the fact Kohai claimed DP1 and if anything, was the safest option for scum to recruit since no claims were outted at that point

How exactly are you saying your role works? You visit a player and it returns their character name and description, that simple? Why would you say your role has utility now but not next NP, when you can actually use it?

Only reason is he’s a prime recruit. That said he’s irrefutably not the original scum. Going by behavior he’s one of my stronger town reads.

It’s mainly a balancing act based on how I think he’d try to avoid claiming his role while seeking a massclaim. It’s more a read of what I think he’d do as town (keep his Martyr in his back pocket and try to invite the NK one more time), though he’s right that that’s a WIFOM argument. At this point, I’m still leaning toward the REF lynch.

I think that if Mikal had claimed his real character he would want me alive to give him town cred. So I think is character is a fake claim, hence the hard push for my lynch.

In the event he is being honest then Whiteflame can use it.

If wf can pick any roles in the graveyard he prob can also pick the doctor as well. So there are 2 options. It’s why I also put wf over pie and skep. There are like no protection roles this game and the one that does protect isn’t even a real doctor. So having his role makes sense from balance as it’s the only real protection town has once the doctor is gone.

These arguments concerning Pie don't seem entirely damning. Pie is as likely to be innocent as guilty, then.

I would hate to see us lose yet another townie due to a PM communication fumble. At present I just dont see a better candidate than Rex.

I'm not gonna be able to figure out who the recruit is this DP -- they'd just claim their original role and character -- so the only shot is to figure out who the OG scum was. They're the only ones who might be fake claiming at least their role, maybe their role and character.

Again, Rex looks best for that, but I'm just not happy that he's so universally FOS'd. Either someone is bussing or we're barking up the wrong tree.

My guess is that he’s a scum role cop. If he’s a scum role cop claiming that off the bat would be really sus. In this setup a role cop for scum make perfect sense.

It does sound like horse shit. If Luna put this in the game he’s pretty retarted which is why I don’t believe it. Ask me why he claimed this as a fake claim and I could not tell you. Like I said only thing I can think of is his actual role is role cop and he tried to claim it and got Sussd immediately so had to change it on the fly.

Alright, I see no reason to drag this out. I still cannot make much sense of REF’s role claim or the aftermath of said claim. I don’t love that both Pie and Mikal are on this wagon too since they’re both pretty likely to be his partner, but we’ll cross that bridge next DP.
