Never played Suikoden, don't know anything about it, but I am loving this artwork. Very detailed. Also, props to REF for the flavor text. Don't know if that comes baked in with the game or he's just really enjoying himself, but either way, impressive.

Anyway, this is just my check-in before signing off for the night. I should be active tomorrow. A heads-up for later in the game: my wife is getting surgery on Monday, I cannot promise what my availability will look like on that day as that will be pretty all-consuming. If I suddenly vanish for a long stretch on that day, please recall this.

Some notes

1) I’m more excited for this game than I have been any other game in a long ass time. It’s one of my favorite series and I got the golden ending in both games recently

2) based on my character the theme split is not basic. My character is scummy, has mostly scummy roles, and is broadly not considered good

3) larger assumptions. - I think scum could be the Toran republic revolution. It’s possible but not for sure but I’m operating under a heavy assumption that mafia can recruit or there is third party that can recruit (one of which is likely the toran liberation ). My pm all but tells me directly there is a recruit role in this game and not like a mason.

Based on my role PM as well I am in agreement with this. I wonder if we actually have a scum team or if it just town vs a cult.

to note. Who can recruit is a large assumption. But the good guys are the toran revolution in game one and are led by Tir Mcdoul. The entire selling point or premise of this game is recruiting all the stars of destiny. There are 108

so my assumption is since the game is about recruiting the stars of destiny to overthrow the scarlet moon empire, the recruit role is prob the toran revoltion group. I’m from the scarlet moon empire which is the major antagonist of this game

my character doesn’t mention the moon empire outright but the imperials are mentioned and context makes me assume he is a member. So imperials vs. rebellion with a protagonist split makes sense

I have a very strong feeling that this isn’t a traditional mafia game of town vs mafia but rather town vs cult. I can’t say any more than that. I’ll expand on that later on.
