I have a strong suspicion of who Kohai is and, like Thoth said, a good reason to townread him. I’ll leave it at that. I also have good reason to townread Thoth as I said earlier. Guess we’re just generally on the same wavelength because I’m also sussing Luna just a tad. Be able to explore that more after he softs.

My initial reaction to Luna’s post about Vaarka is that it’s townie, but coming from Luna I think it’s null. He’s a smartie.

I’ll get into the “why” of these later. For now, though, mainly want to see more from Pie and Rex, both of whom haven’t posted much (2 posts apiece) and I’m null on both as a result. Slightly more interested in hearing from Pie first, so that’s where I’m starting:

My read on Luna is pretty mixed. The discussion of the number of scum in the game and the possibility of a TP initially read to me as a little much, but repeat reads at least come off as a pretty decent attempt to figure out the setup. Could be genuine and still be scum, so it doesn't really push me either direction.

Thoth I have better reason to townread, though I'll keep that reason to myself for now.

I was just adding a log to the blind speculation bonfire, but I do see what you are getting at since I outed my own anti-claim mechanic in Suikoden for the sake of method acting.

I agree. 3-1-1 makes the most sense. Don’t necessarily agree with the hard fast rule, but logically it makes sense that he would follow it.

Again, that was a hypothesis, not a conclusion. I think it makes more sense than one scum and one third-party unless Magic has used 1 scum/1TP in his games.

While it is not super close, I'll point out that the end of the DP is roughly 30 hours away at this point. Don't love Rex's absence from proceedings and I'd really like to get his softclaim before pushing for anything else.

Right now, the only two people I’m uninterested in getting are Kohai (whose character and role I believe I know) and Thoth (I have more reason to buy his soft than anyone else so far). If I had to pick among the rest of you, I’d take Rex first, then you.

Considering what he softed (i.e. one of the three main characters of this movie), I doubt that it's something scum were given as a fake claim. It's possible that one of them just isn't in the game and Mharman gave scum the fake claim, but I'd consider that less likely than the possibility that the claim Kohai is giving is a fake claim. Just strikes me as a lot for Mharman to not only have created this game with a theme he isn't invested in only to nix one of the three female leads and then choose to hand it over as a full fake claim complete with role for scum.

With a fake claim on the table and a seven-player game I'm not putting much stock in softs. If anything, scum would be incentivized to soft because they have nothing to fear and everything to gain. I personally love to do this as scum. This is what makes me most suspicious of Thoth, not the supposedly TMI stuff others have pointed out - why breadcrumb an important character DP1 with no pressure? Seems more scum-motivated. Also find his oh-I-really-shouldn't-do-this way of outing Kohai as an apparently important character instead of just letting his soft stand unmolested. I think he might be 3P - solving the game genuinely but in a way which is indifferent to the anti-town implications of revealing information.

Townie vibes on Luna, WF, and Pie but those are all players that I can't trust vibes on. Just sort of browsed through today. I'll check in again tomorrow if there's more activity, need to get to bed soon.
