It's standard protocol to early claim Gravedigger or Miller; it's actually kind of scummy if you don't claim it immediately, as I understand it.

It's a fair question. He claims he wanted to hold out in hopes that if someone claimed Watcher or something he could back them up by claiming then, but eh. His claim would back up the existence of such a role regardless of when he made it.

My main reasoning here is that it's very easy to have a thought of "This day is quiet, that sucks" and say that out loud, but it's another thing to actually do something about it and push game into a different state. And knowing that I'm Town, pushing the game out of the state of "idk Ceru is policy chop" is a townsided move.

It's admittedly a bit self-centered, but there's not a whole lot to go off beyond that at the moment.

Why would a Godfather claim Miller? If they get checked, they would show as Town, opposite of how a Miller would check. The only reason I can think of why a Godfather would claim Miller is in hopes that someone would check them and they could WIFOM some concern about a redirector.

It’s more likely that the partner is a GF and so he’s a regular scum and would still investigate guilty. But it’s a moot point because Ceru claimed Gravedigger. That claim could be used by either of the scum
