Mag - Definitely feels town to me. I doubt w!Mag comes in and claims their character without prompting and especially wouldn't open up with a trollish / playful claim.

Also Vader said that justifications were loosey-goosey this game so it's not like your character gives much away about your role, which is the main reason (afaik) for keeping your character close to the vest at first. So why the heck would you not just pick one of the options.

I can't really fault you for REF. I did notice last game he sat back and was really quite passive. It was only during the final DP he got up and questioned my wagon. I think you were fairly obvious scum, but he also made your job a bit easier. With this game, hes also a bit passive. I don't have much to talk about him. I suppose he wants a Kohai lynch and hasn't really said why. I get why you say I'm scummy lol. He hasn't said much. Null for me.

Kohai is someone I will believe. Its not like a miller who might trouble town the entire game, with proper gameplay, Kohai might never get a single town vote on him the entire game. We don't need to immediately buy his claim, but should the need arrive, we have flips to check him on. Hes more than a lean town for me.

Wryly(/Wylted) just popped in and I think it might be a mistake letting them pass by thinking about it now. Wryly just popped in, softed their character and basically has done nothing else. Its still early for Wryly, but I will keep an eye on them for now. Not their fault Wylted was inactive fwiw.

I typed that before I saw Wryly's new posts. The new posts were pretty good. They are getting to a lean town for me.

I fell the exact same way about people randomly seeking claims DP1. I think it's anti-town, lazy play. I punish it by forcing them to lynch me without claiming.

Him FOSing others while cannily refusing to soft claim was an early point of suspicion for me last game when he was scum, and I failed to press him on it. Give me at least a definitive soft.

Even if Christ descended from Heaven and asks Pie to soft/claim, he would still refuse. Pie always gets a stick up his ass regarding his claims. Rex is at L-2 btw.

Hello world and all who inhabit it. I've been thinking of softs we could do. Here's one that I think could be okay:

I am a decision made by a team, either the Bears or their opponent

I am an event that happened to the Bears, not directly due to anyone's decision

I am someone or something else, like a specific player or coach

Also, at risk of mild OGI, Vader's statement in the signups thread that not having a Discord link means you are town is close to mod-confirmation that there are no third parties, not that we should have expected a third party with nine players. (What kind of evil moderator would put a third-party in a game with fewer than ten players??)

In what world is saying 'I am one of these three things,' when one of said three things is essentially 'none of the above', a soft claim of anything?

The whole point of softing is to increase credibility by nailing down at least a little detail of your role, something scum would be reluctant to do because they don't want to limit their fake claim choices at all too early. Even if they were given fake claims, they want more time to think of which roles should go with those characters and would be safe to claim, etc.
