Oh man. You would hate the place I play on Discord. I brought up our day-1-softclaim meta with the example of male/female and they all started squealing about how you can’t know that unless the character self-identified.

I don’t really like the word lynch because of its racially charged history, but I agree that every replacement sounds wrong. “[Player] is slated to be our day elimination” is almost as cadenceless as white people singing along to Dr Dre when other people are around.

I’m trying to read Pie in good faith (Merry Christmas Pie) but I’ll admit 

Wryly’s case does have a very valid point. I suppose it’s worth noting that he opted not to go for the soft at a time when the soft was suggested, not started, but then he refused and had people pressure him for it. I don’t care for it. Now there is something in my mind that he could be doing with all this as town (again, good faith), but I’m gonna wait and see if he’ll make that defense for himself. Some ok vibes posts, some takes that I like, on Wryly and Rex. “Are you retarded?” to Kohai is very towny. So I guess the game here is to ask why he would refuse to soft for so long.

Eh. Vibes posts don’t amount to much. It isn’t hard to speak from the heart on Kohai as scum either. I think the townie things I pointed out aren’t that great.

As for Rex, the point about fluff from Pie is a good one. And I see Wryly’s point; it does address mine pretty well, but still, I’ve been given no reason to townread Rex. I do know that he likes to hang back as scum; I’ve seen him do it twice in the last two games I’ve hosted.

So here’s the deal. Excessive fluff isn’t great. But I’ve been burned scumreading fluff before. Recently Kaenite over on MU. And a few other people. And activity isn’t a great metric, although there is some precedent for Rex I think.

And yet it’s very hard for me to get past the fact that he hasn’t really advanced the game at all. Like he’s low activity, fine, but does little when he is active.

Magoroth, I can picture a DCraft noob just outing a character to be helpful. Especially when it could be CC’d. But mafia has some fake claim of some kind. And if it is the character claim like Pie speculates, it’s really not so towny. Now here’s the thing: While he’s new to DCraft, I know he played in a rolemad, closed setup heavy community before becoming an MU player. I kinda feel he should know that claiming his character would help mafia figure out his role. I don’t like this. I guess the one thing I’ll say here is that he did just do some fancy play syndrome thing on MU.

Hard for me to understand what such an FPS plan could be here.

Shining’s long-ish post was a W. Bit of borrowed logic on the Wryly scumread, and applied pretty inaccurately imo. That’s my one gripe but it’s very hard for me to hate on him posting something substantial like that.

I guess I have a bit of bias here. I hate the idea of scumreading good activity from Shining.

i forgot to mention that he did start townreading Wryly almost immediately after. But the initial scumread was bad logic. But bad logic is far from the worst thing. I think this is the weakest sus of the four.

Side note: I’m down to say Pie isn’t just bussing/distancing Rex. Should be an unpairing.

I agree with you here. That said if you really think about what the game of mafia is lynching is the best word to describe it. Bunch of people get voted out without a trial and often for extremely bad reasons.

Pie - If he was going after an easy mislynch he would just push for my lynch and call it a day. Pay attention to what pie does. If he suddenly pivots to another wagon without ref claiming then he's probably scum. For now he's in the town pile

As for you it’s his policy. Feels like it’s a bit too easy to fall back on when he doesn’t have a great read on anyone else. But I’ll take in good faith that he does execute this policy as town.
