Think that was just an "I'm here" post while he got caught up on the day phase. Also I think I've goofed off more than he has tbf.

According to google it's just putting a big effort into pretending to solve the game and establishing town cred until you've accreted a lot of trust and influence around you. Instead of just avoiding suspicion it seems to be a sustained, proactive push to establish yourself as a town pillar.

There's another soft I would like us to do, and this thought crossed my mind because I've never seen my role before. I think this one is good enough that it could be meta for future games.

According to the MafiaUniverse role database, is your role frequency Common, Occasionally, Rarely, or not in the list, at least not under that name?

My role is Occasionally. Again, I've never seen it before, but I haven't been around as long as some of you have, and roles may be more or less common in different sites' metas. I think this should make role fake-claiming much harder for scum while not giving them a dangerous amount of information.

It means nothing lol. Character claims are basically useless this game because the justifications don’t mean anything. It doesn’t do much anyways. Bears always lost because of opposing teams scoring TDs against them. It’s nothing new

So to be clear, you're saying you don't think this narrows the claim window much for him? It's unclear just how much information character claiming might give us at this point (maybe his character is just well-connected to his justification, as Vader hinted in the OP), but if you're seeking a full claim at this point, then that doesn't matter much.

I get the idea here, but that's bound to give scum too much information, and it doesn't limit scum enough by requiring them to provide a broad category like this.

Me. Say someone answers "common." The only town roles listed as common are Cop, Doctor, Jailkeeper, Mason, Miller, Tracker, or Watcher. 6 out of 7 of those are critical roles. Right away scum knows who to NK.

That's a fair point. I didn't think to check how many were Common. They have a really high bar for common.

So that suggestion seemed really scummy to me but almost too scummy, like something scum Thoth would be too cautious to do. Idk.

Now I want to come up with a theoretical optimal soft that reaches the best balance between locking scum in and not letting them identify town roles.

I thought decision, but after reading up, it may be more event than decision. I don't want to say more.

We've got just over 12 hours left by my count, so we can wait long enough to see how REF responds. Given that that will likely set us up to make a decision right at the end of the DP, I think the push for the full claim makes sense, just hoping he responds sooner rather than later.

Typical DP1 is typical DP1. Nothing to go on; scum could be anyone. I still say Rex is NAI.

tbh, REF will probably be the lynch today. Unless he claims something important, he'll be lynched to avoid a NL. I'm okay with that. I'll still give him time and the day might end before I wake up tomorrow.
