From Thoth. This was when he suggested we pick from softs. I remember townreading this post when I first read it. But I do feel little conflicted here, because this is a great way to fake contribute. I don’t know what he’d think is towny or scummy from the responses, but I can least buy the idea of him having something in mind for a towny or scummy response.
There's another soft I would like us to do, and this thought crossed my mind because I've never seen my role before. I think this one is good enough that it could be meta for future games.
According to the MafiaUniverse role database, is your role frequency Common, Occasionally, Rarely, or not in the list, at least not under that name?
My role is Occasionally. Again, I've never seen it before, but I haven't been around as long as some of you have, and roles may be more or less common in different sites' metas. I think this should make role fake-claiming much harder for scum while not giving them a dangerous amount of information.
This was pretty bad idea. One that I really don’t like. As Wryly said, those with common PRs would out that they have a major role that scum would nuke on the spot. This is where we have to ask a question: Is scum Thoth too afraid to post something like this?

Two posts. Appears to be a bit of a pivot, but actually quite understandable given that Kohai seems down with his own lynch. But I don’t understand the logic of thinking it’s scummy claim in the first place. No mafioso is going to claim hates off the rip when they don’t know what else is in the game. In my mind, the only way Kohai can be scum is if hated was a provided fake claim.
My only real scumread so far is Mag1c and even that's not especially strong. I'm getting null vibes off of WF and Pie as always. Null on Rex too. Solid town on Wryly and Kohai, a bit less solid on Magoroth. Slight scum on Shining.
I don't like Pie's, "claim or your head on this pike", act, but from him that's NAI if not townie. Pie's initial "softclaim" was negative on the Mohs scale, even though he claimed event later. Typical hypiecrisy.
Is it towny or scummy that Thoth’s reads didn’t change much? I think both sides have an incentive to change reads as TJ game goes on; town, as they learn more. Mafia; to appear town and take advantage of situations that arise. I think the difference here is that town doesn’t have to change reads quite as much as mafia. So I’m gonna say this post is towny.
I found an instance of my role, with the same name but slightly different mechanics, within about ten minutes of Ctrl+F'ing through endgame threads on DebateArt, so maybe it's not as rare as I thought. That, or I'm just saying this in hopes scum will waste their time.

I don’t know if he thinks he can manipulate scum somehow, but I don’t think giving an obvious hint as to what he’s doing helps. Could’ve reaction baiting, like how he wanted people to discuss softclaims.
At any rate, this does check out with governor. I’ve noticed this while doing archive work, but hosts here tend to call roles different things than what MU calls them. Governor, politician, magistrate (really just roles with names along that line) are all a source of confusion iirc.

The vig fake claim is completely insane if you’re scum. You’d know town would try and test you with on it. You’d at least run it by a teammate who’d veto it. I’m not shocked at the idea of whole claim being reaction baiting, because it seems like a lot of what I think he’s been doing.
Last thing: Thoth is weird. And as I’m remembering now, he has said his style is to do things so weird that no one could possibly think he’s scum. So unfortunately, too scummy to be scum isn’t actually that good. But then, is there a higher level, a level of craziness he still wouldn’t cross, even though that’s his strategy? Sigh. I think my big key here is that his reads haven’t changed all game long, and his refusal to out his read on Whiteflame for so much time.

eh. I think his reads change a bit more to circumstances and opportunities if he’s scum.
There’s so much I hate about him, but imma go town for now.
