I don't think a Mago lynch gets us anything. As much as I might dislike DP1 VTNL, Mago and Kohai don't strike me as particularly scummy.

You're new to the site, which means that you will be met with hesitancy and will be a ripe mislynch target for your first few games. The fact that you're experienced only exacerbates this.

Motion Detector is like Tracker/Watcher but a weaker version. Sees if an action was performed on/by a player at night. Can’t distinguish between the two.

And I don’t know why Ted Cruz is one. I don’t think roles have much to do with characters.

There might be some overall “truth” to what category of role does what perhaps, but I certainly don’t know why I’m Ted Cruz and Motion Detector.
