im the most popular player on the team and score most of the goals even when the team loses. my character sounds like he has a bit of an ego based on my role
If we're getting a claim, I guess we could do worse than Shining since he just hasn't been very active. No one's behavior has really stood out to me as odd.
It's dumb in both regards but especially with hated. Just keep that shit to yourself. With hated I understand the motivation but not with popular.
7-2 is unfair to scum slightly and 6-3 is unfair to town by a wide margin. I assume that a 1x popular scum helps balance that tension there

Honestly I don’t care for either Rex or Shining. Shining’s lazy like usual but post 30 is weird to me. The thought process is literally just that is probably not Kohai by the numbers… which just ignores past setups. Also opens the door to arguments for any guilty result being the hidden miller.

Whiteflame and Pie are more null. I don’t like how Pie entered the thread not even reading all of what happened. He is getting on Shining ass and looking for a claim just to clarify him; I’ve seen him do that as town plenty. I think Whiteflame looks slightly better on his thoughts though. Especially on Wylted.
Wylted I actually feel slightly worse on. I don’t hate a claim from him but there’s still a few things giving me pause. And yes he has a slight point on optimal popular play but I don’t see how 7-2 is unbalanced; his initial reasoning on popular was still bad. But he doesn’t fully fit his scum profile either. The softing weirdness, I’m not sure what to think.

I get an icky feeling about Shining. Wylted has me feeling a little tepid about him. Not too sure about you. Pie is difficult to read DP1, ditto for Whiteflame. I've decided I can't read Wryly until she actually rolls scum. Kohai seems a bit scummy. Banana seems too cute to be scum.
I am Dani Rojas the ascetic. Essentially I am able ignore a lot of shit throughout the series and support my friends.
Hmmm... that does make some sense for his character. Ascetic claims rub me the wrong way by default since I've seen a lot of instances where they've been used as fake claims by scum, so I'm hesitant to townread you based on that.

Yeah, it could be real. I don't know if people are actually going to test it, but the risk of it does suggest that he actually has the role. Doesn't indicate alignment, but here we are.

Ascetic is also a good fake claim for a player like Shining who is a commuter, who might be kept alive as a mislynch target because people tend to read him as scummy. The benefit to claiming commuter over ascetic as scum is to explain not being killed as the game drags on if you are a hard player to mislynch. That benefit doesn't apply to Shining.
For example, Pie or Whiteflame would like to claim commuter as scum because they are a bitch to mislynch as town, so scum wouldn't keep them alive and would NK them instead if they were town. So, their survival is in itself suspicious, and the protective aspect of the role explains them not being targeted. It has no such benefit for Shining, as town Shining is easy to mislynch (as Pie recently demonstrated), so there's nothing suspicious about him not being targeted for the NK, so he doesn't need to claim a protective role to explain away his survival into late game were he scum. Instead, claiming ascetic if he is commuter is the better choice because it could absorb something like a town vig shot or a redirection of the NK.
Got a town lean on Kohai and Banana. 1x Popular sounds like something that could be thrown to a scum JOAT or something, but Jamie Tartt is very likely in the game, and scum were given no fake claims.
Ascetic fits for Rojas. Shining is null for me.

Since it relates to me, I'll explain.
A couple of games back, I included an Informed Townie role that had information relating to a hidden negative utility role in the game. The person who had it in that game (Luna) was also the one who had the hidden negative utility role (he was a Nexus). It never played into the game, but Mag1c's point here is that the Informed player (in this case, Kohai) might have the very hidden role he's been informed of (in this case, the Miller). Probability on that is... shaky. We can be sure, so long as we buy Kohai's claim, that there is a hidden Miller (I buy it right now), but we can't write anyone off as possibly having the role at this point.
Ascetic is one of those scummy claim. Usually when Luna gives role hints, they’re pretty substantial though. I don’t think Ascetic would be a derivative of one of those role. Still, it’s impossible to prove, and the behavior I don’t like either
I also dislike the whole talk about a commuter from REF. It’s oddly specific. Like I’m curious where that thought even came from.
