Doesn't that mean you can only "confirm" yourself by blocking your own team's night-kill, and otherwise all your role does is visit someone? (I wonder if that role has a name.)

You only block your team’s nightkill if you heal the same person they attack at night.

It’s a role whose primary value is in getting townread, and it’s pretty good at that, if you aren’t prepared for the possibility of a Mafia doctor.

Anyway, my top scum reads are Pie, Wryly, Lunatic. I had a town read on Thoth initially, but him calling me scum after he gave a bunch of reasons to townread me is pretty weird. Whiteflame did the same thing to me in Chicago Bears, on the second to last day of that game, and he was scum.

My only townreads are Wylted and Whiteflame, the latter for actually trying to understand what I’m saying and not just dismissing outright, even if he disagreed with it.

Okay read through on a skim level. Again FYI just moved upstate into a snowstorm, no power, don’t have a computer set up yet and adjusting to life with kids on top of a lot of other stuff. Played because skep really needed an extra person for his setup but inactivity is not a scum read and anyone that knows me outside of game can verify I am literally so busy I can’t think atm. Hopefully stuff settles down soon

that being said. I am not familiar with this show but am familiar with the theme on a broad level. Emperor, empress dowager, and concubines is present in a lot of shows and anime. Marco Polo, apoth diaries etc. it’s exactly as Rex describes it. A bunch of people trying to get into power by doing shady shit. So it would not surprise me if town even have negative utility roles, if there is a tp etc. given how Vader functions. I think it’s more likely that it’s 3 scum and both town and scum likely have roles that can affect favor or fuck with the emperor directly (as implied by the op). Almost sure scum can target the emperor directly and fuck with favor.

Vader gives favor to x. It’s stopped or redirected etc. then when he says I gave it to x, it makes the look like shit. Kind of ties in with the entire theme split of shady shit and everyone going for power

I don’t think magrith is scum. All his suggestions are retarted but I think that comes from a noob town place and I think scum is prob on the wagon of killing him as it’s very opportunistic and a super easy lunch to point back at and defend.

wylted claim bothers me. It’s not just a miller but it’s a miller as he gains favor. So the emperor picks him and he turns into a miller where he can’t be investigated. It’s essentially saying do target me. But as I’m thinking about this in real time more, it’s a good way for scum to redirect or move favor on to him to make him appear guilty and the emperor would say he didn’t target him. I actually buy this and I think Wylted could be town

I want to look at the Magroth Wagon because again I think it’s a very easy push to make when the logic behind it just bleeds noob town

Nobody has even given a reason as to why mass claim is bad. It’s all just “but if scum learns our roles”. I really, really don’t care if scum learns what roles we have. All information is public and more information is a GOOD thing, not a bad thing, especially seeinf as everyone in this game is a power role waiting to happen.

Mass claiming does nothing. Scum can still claim retarted shit in a mass claim. Likely won’t need to as Rex said they have been given 2 fake claims and now know how to optimally use their abilities. There are times with mass claiming makes sense. Theme games with no fake claims, or there is a way to catch someone from it. With fake claims being present and in a 12 person game. It’s actually dumb as fuck to do this. Just gets us ran over because they know exactly how to manipulate the game given they likely can target Vader

Lunatic: Slight scum. This is a pure gutread, but the amount of text he spent bashing Magoroth in post #233 compared to the rest of his reads in #234 triggered my scum-pushing-for-easy-day-1-mislynch alert, even though I generally agree with his points. Then saying that his PoE is two inactives and the guy that people are scumreading also strikes me as possible mislynch-pushing. Other than that, I like his posts.

The fact that you agree with my points about magoroth but scum read me for them I think is just paranoia. I can see what you and banana are saying that magoroth looks like an easy target, but lets face it, and feel free to prove me wrong, generally people as scum on this site are pretty blatant when they fuck up. I can point to several examples of this. I've stopped myself from lynching scum many a time because of that same logic you are using "They are so bad they must be town" when its often just the case that they are... just scum. Even you said earlier something about "im so wolfy I can't be a wolf". Except for a lot of the players here don't actually know or think they are being scummy when they are scum, I think its general obliviousness. That said I can't recall playing with mago, so if he's just pulling a shining here then it will be a lesson learned.

Whiteflame can back me up on this. I am spacing the name of the game off the top of my head, but there was a game in DART where I used the same defense Thoth is using for mago on Whiteflame. Whiteflame did something scummy and everyone was lynching him except me. I hardcore defended him with the logic “Whiteflame would never blatantly act this way as scum”. Turns out he was just scum and I looked like a fool for defending him.

Obviously this logic will change from player to player and I don’t know mago super well but there’s certain players that you just don’t give passes too for scummy behaviors and from what a few of you may have said so far, I don’t see why mago would be an exception here.

Btw it’s interesting a major reason you are scum reading me is for my read on mago, yet you also list him as a scum read. So in other words your theory is we are bussing lol?

Yeah but my point is that your mechanical analysis seems to outweigh your interest in behavior hunting, I would expect town to be focused more on the latter. And no offense but your “behavioral reads” so far have been rather unconvincing.

With 5 hours I think it’s either Thoth or Mag and I still think mag is noob town. I’m fine with getting a full claim from mag and then picking him or Thoth off that. But we need a claim before we shot

I’ve done a bit of reading and right now there’s 1 person I am giving favor too right now without a doubt based on their behavior and interactions as a whole

I skimmed the dp in 10 mins and it’s a gut read. I’ve been wrong when I tunneled on gut reads before. More like I’m good with him claiming and if it makes sense, I’m good with moving to Thoth. I just think he is the most pinned suspect at the moment and it’s 5 hours. Don’t have time to reallly get something going so a claim doesn’t hurt as it gives us where to go from there.

Are you told if your miller activates ?

Is it in your justification or your role mechanic. Don't want to push it too much but curious as to why

I still believe that giving out some form of reads is bad for the game. I’d rather keep the town guessing but reading the DP and other posts have given some clarity and imo I think I have one person that I am confident in giving favor too at this point. I told REF (just so he knows I’m not bullshitting) but a lot of good analysis so far. Taking note of a few players as well

Thoth is also advocating the same thing because his role is just as powerful. What makes the posts so different in your opinion?
