i buy the latter but you are def acting the strangest out of everyone and I’m really struggling to pin down whether it’s just poor play and scum slips or you are just new and nervous.
It could genuinely just be poor play. IE my point about khaosmage. Dude's playstyle eventually became if he wasn't offering crazy ideas or conspiracies you knew he was scum lol. Having not played with magoroth though, this is a very science lynch as much as it is a behavioral lynch. It will effect how I treat this behavior from him going forward if he is indeed town.

Whiteflame can back me up on this. I am spacing the name of the game off the top of my head, but there was a game in DART where I used the same defense Thoth is using for mago on Whiteflame. Whiteflame did something scummy and everyone was lynching him except me. I hardcore defended him with the logic “Whiteflame would never blatantly act this way as scum”. Turns out he was just scum and I looked like a fool for defending him.
I don't remember the specific game, but yes, I recall this being your logic for why I was not likely to be scum in a game where I was scum.
Obviously this logic will change from player to player and I don’t know mago super well but there’s certain players that you just don’t give passes too for scummy behaviors and from what a few of you may have said so far, I don’t see why mago would be an exception here.
I wouldn't say that being excessively scummy in his behaviors gives him a pass. It's mainly a matter of whether I end up seeing him as more anti-town or more scummy, and seems I'll have my work cut out for me making that assessment just skimming through his recent posts.
I’m not new but I am neurotic in general, so my playstyle varies from having very good reads that I end up doing nothing with to completely over the place hot mess.

I took a few games off, so this is my first game with him. But pie told me a little bit about MAGA mafia, and he was pretty inactive in that one and from skimming it looks like he made a pretty bad claim in that one despite being able to ask the mod questions about characters. Him and David were scum and they got lynched DP1 and DP2. Like I said, his behavior does seem to contrast that here a little bit, and its a point I am weighing, just trying to decide if it outweighs all the other factors.

I still believe that giving out some form of reads is bad for the game. I’d rather keep the town guessing but reading the DP and other posts have given some clarity and imo I think I have one person that I am confident in giving favor too at this point. I told REF (just so he knows I’m not bullshitting) but a lot of good analysis so far. Taking note of a few players as well
I get that you're doing that to avoid divulging who you're planning to give favor to, so I can respect that choice. Since you are the only town-confirmed player, I can at least see some value in you clarifying a read on players who are set to be lynched, but I don't think you should be providing a full set of reads.

Maybe because you are a bit heated, but it seems your instant reaction is to omgus, which is a common scum tell for players. Your not responding in a way that really shows you understand why your being pressured so I am trying to explain that to you, and in uncovering your answering I keep finding more things to question you about. You keep viewing it as an attack, and your instinct seems to be to counter attack anyone who attacks you instead of just looking at it from an angle of objectivity. I am not shooting you down, we are having an ongoing dialogue. Sometimes in an online forum setting emotions can get misunderstood. For me this is all logic and being thorough. For you this is somehow a personal attack.

The thing is, to me, I know I am Town and the points you make are like ??? To me. Nobody has ever said to me that reacting to events is scummy, reacting isn’t scummy, HOW you react is. Mafia isn’t focused on self preservation as much as it is cowardly and afraid, if most scum players get into a 1v1 with someone they usually drop it, flail, stop defending themselves, disengage, etc. whereas town fights because Town is like WHY ARE YOU SCUMREADING ME you must be scum

It has caught scum before. Sometimes it gets town too, that is why I keep saying this is also a learning lynch. I will understand how to interact with you going forward if you are indeed town here. At the end of the day if your roles are roleblocker/vengeful, you have just as much potential to hurt town as you do scum, statistically more. I don't see a huge benefit to your role, especially now since scum probably wouldn't let you into MYLO/LYLO (assuming your role would even work there, you never confirmed that).

That's kind of my point though, you aren't just reacting to events objectively, your reacting to events that specifically revolve around you. I initially admitted that you weren't omgusing wryly, but when you clarified your read on her later, it turns out that also was an omgus read based on how she interacted with you specifically. Scum have reason to be hyper paranoid about how they are perceived rather than looking at others and there interactions with fellow players.. Scum have inside information, they don't need to do any hunting. Thus it stands to reason that they are going to be pretty reactive to pressure, and in the past, they have. Really nooby town also can do this I admit, but you've said many times that you aren't a noob.
