I'll see what whiteflame and pie have to say. If they think he is town here, I am fine switching to awesome5000, who is really the only inactive left. I believe. Technically shining is inactive too, but thats kind of normal for him, and he will probably make a random post or two every day to appear active.

im good with yolo shooting someone who hasn’t posted a lot. Gut is wrong sometimes but gut is saying scum is either inactive and coasting. Letting us just hang our selves or was on mags wagon.

I just can’t shake he’s town. We both are in the same view. I just read it as retard town.

I am open to him being town. Mostly voting him because time is an issue, and I dont wanna random lynch a cop or something, and we already know mago's role is more likely to harm the town than help statistically speaking even if he is town. Its kind of one of those lynches that even if we are wrong it doesn't severely hurt town here.

Also fine with no lynching. But something about his behavior leads me to think he’s town. I agree depending on his flip. I have more of a meta on him but for now I just think he is playing poorly (as town) could be playing bad as mafia but I still get noob town

I'm looking back through Magoroth's posts in particular from these last 6 pages.

Looks like he sussed Pie overnight for his sussing the Watcher claim, and the logic for that is... confusing. If scum have a Ninja as he believes, then they have little incentive to kill a Watcher. I also don't get this "Mafia Doctor," which may be a thing on other sites, but has never appeared here. Mods have given typically town roles to scum before, so I guess he's just spit-balling about one such example he's seen.

His read list is at least a little biased. It seems he sussed most of the people who sussed him (Pie, Wryly, Luna and Thoth) and townread Wylted and me for giving his points more credence. I'm usually driven to do the same, particularly when it feels like people are giving my posts short shrift, but these reads are all based on responses to his claim and ideas rather than their behavior generally, so I take them as pretty weak reads. The shift to VTLing Thoth at least fits with his past response to me in the Chicago Bears game.

The weird part is when he starts full claiming, and it's strange on multiple levels.

To start, he just doesn't claim his character at first, took him another half an hour to claim Bai Ruji. Looking at the specifics of the claim, he switches between Watcher and RB on different nights (unrelated roles where he says he claimed the even night ability despite arguing that we should claim our roles for confirmation) and then says he's the town Framer. There's negative utility and then there's this, just completely unheard of for a town player to be a Framer. He then clarified a half an hour later that the Framer was fake, pushed back on claiming it, and eventually settled on Vengeful. I haven't had time to dig into the character beyond reading the blurb Luna posted, but at least there, it does fit the character. That being said, I have questions:

First, why would you argue that you should get favor when your initial claim was that you would obtain a town Framer? I get wanting to have the Vengeful locked and loaded, but Vader would have had no idea you had such a role to work towards if you'd stuck by claiming Framer.

Second, why withhold the Vengeful claim at all? You said its usefulness would drop to 0, but if I'm understanding Vengeful correctly, you can immediately kill another player when lynched. Still seems plenty useful if it's revealed.

Can you ping some players who aren't here and let them know the day phase is ending? Pie, wryly, shining, wylted, and awesome500 specifically. The day phase is ending when I imagine most people are at work but maybe a discord ping can get them to check on their phone or something.

I think awesome is in East Asia from what I recall, so timezones might be at play. But then again, I apparently thought Shining was Chinese for no reason so take that with a grain of salt.

I'm still working my way back through this DP, but I'll stake out my position for now at least:

I'm still pretty unclear on Magoroth, though I'd like to get some answers to the above questions for his choices with regards to claiming. Absent anything obvious there, I don't have any strong scumreads and I'm loath to lynch someone based on inactivity at this point, especially since it will almost certainly require us lynching blind if said player doesn't hop on in the next ~3 hours. With an even number of players, I'd say we have leeway to start with a NL and see what information we can get out of NP1 to inform a lynch next DP, so I'd be comfortable with a NL at this point.

Maybe your just obsessed with asians. The theme is making more sense now.

It’s not about incentive, I have personally witnessed scum pushing others with info “from their role cards” so to speak, him saying I would die for claiming Watcher could be an attempt at appearing uninformed on the existence of Ninjas, scum do that sort of thing.

I didnt fullclaim my character because I figured abilities were more important and nobody asked me about my character. I only used it as a get out of jail free card to reinforce my abilities

I want to vote Wryly and Thoth because they’re my top scumreads, but I really don’t want Lunatic to get away with this if he is scum. Almost want to vote him out of principle.

Why am I one of your top scumreads? Just because I said you being a baffling drama queen is NAI?

Just some brief thoughts on read lists:

Banana largely focused her attention on inactives when it came to scumreads, though at the very least, the reads on awesome and Shining came from their few posts. Always a little hesitant to townread that kind of focused attention on less active players, but this seems genuine.

Thoth's slight scum pool is more varied. The scumread on Luna feels a little more like a gut-read than a thoughtful one, since he's actively saying he liked most of what Luna had posted up to that point. Similar gut read vibes on Wryly, while the Magoroth read comes as more informed by what he's seeing and how he's interpreting Magoroth's thinking. Just seems a little off to me, a little too varied in how he's coming to his conclusions.

Mikal's been shorter on broad reads, but his initial thoughts on Magoroth and Wylted make sense, even if I'm drawing different conclusions.

So, since I left off last night, you dumped your entire purse out for scum, fake claimed a Framer, and then revealed you're Vengeful. Bro. I had been thinking scum would want to keep you around as a mislynch target for later but now they'll want to get you out of the way before you gain too much favor or make it to MYLO/LYLO.

I actually don't think you're scum. I didn't think you were for the entire Bears game, where you acted similarly. Then at endgame I fumbled and second-guessed myself, bought into the "if it walks like a duck" logic, mislynched you and lost at LYLO.

I really just wish you hadn't given scum your entire role card.

I won't tell you who to vote for, but if you want to know the gist of the read on Mago here is the bullet points

1. He has been omgusing everyone the whole game, every single one of his scum reads are people who sussed him initially.
2. He fake claimed that he was a framer/roleblocker/watcher, when questioned, he admitted that he was lying to gain favor from the scum team because he thinks they have the ability to steal favor or something like that.
3. He later claims vengeful townie which basically works like a hunter, he can just kill whoever hammers him, so its only utility is lylo. As a roleblocker/vengeful he kind of has more potential to hurt town here

Basically there's a lot of debate about how defensive he is being and whether it should be town read or scum read. The alternative is lynching an inactive like awesome5000 or shining, and risking random lynching a power role. Or mikal suggested a VTNL. Either way we have limited time so we gotta decide soonish
