Mago as scum gives me pause because I don't know that the stupid reaction test on whiteflame occurs if he is scum.

Pie I thought was soft claiming an investigative role earlier but I don't think it's possible to be investigative now. He did say he would claim if mharman claimed so we just need to wait for that to occur or push it. He has acted like town though.

I have mech + mod psyche reasons to trust mago for now, slight behavioral too, but im open minded. I still am sus of rex.

I have done fake reaction tests as scum before btw. Usually its with the intent of faking a town playstyle and turning it into a scum gambit, with two reasons

a) to get townread

b) I intentionally play scummy as town sometimes to bait the scum into voting me. Make yourself appear scummy to out the scum, it works almost every time. You bait them into pushing you too hard and making out every action you do align with scum, it’s a good trap. As scum you can fake that playstyle and get someone lynched that way.

That strategy could backfire pretty easily my friend lol you could just get straight up mislynched

My issue rn is that I do find certain things that Rex has done scummy, but I scumread him on D1 of my first game here too and I was wrong. Not a fan of how people seemingly agree that he is scummy, either. Makes me think it’s likely we’re all wrong.

By the way, I asked Kohai and Banana apparently had to USE her ability, consciously, wilfully, it was not an automated thing.

So Banana undid the Lynch, probably because it was a mistaken hammer and not a purposeful one.

Might be wise to get a claim out of Thoth. Not that I don’t townread him, but him disappearing after being revived and seemingly being town read (?) makes me uneasy.

Banana (flipped) - I can’t remember what her character’s name was, but her role was Governoress and would stump herself if she got lynched D1. I’m not entirely sure why Banana didn’t claim. We coulda lynched her and used her to overthrow lynches the following days if necessary. Not ideal, but it would give us a borderline confirmed town; her ability is either overpowered (at MyLo) or useless the rest of the game, if scum. I guess the same is true of her being town, but feels worse as scum.

How common of a role is governor on this site?

We are probably 5v2 rn. In the scenario where we do no-lynch, we go to MyLo, 4v2 tomorrow. Not ideal.

So we should 100% lynch today and go to LyLo tomorrow. 3v2 is easier to win than 4v2.

In that event, I think nobody should claim today. We claim at MyLo tomorrow. It may be the case that there’s only one power role, in which case we get a CC war tomorrow. It’s not ideal, but it’s a 50/50 chance to win or lose. The scenarios are actually a bit more complicated than that, there’s two I can think of:

Scenario A: CC war. Say a Town reveals a red check on someone tomorrow. Mafia goes all in, puts themselves into a box as a team, goes all in and tries to lynch the Town. 50% chance they win, 50% chance they lose the CC war and probably lose the game, having outed themselves.

Scenario B: CC war. A town reveals a red check on someone tomorrow. One of the Mafia goes all in and says “X” is lying, and says “X and Mafia B are scum”, the other Mafia sides with the Investigator and says “Mafia A and Townie Y are scum”. Scenario B gives a 25% chance of winning immediately, and supposedly buys one of the Mafia some town cred in the event that one of them gets lynched, they fight it out D4 with a 2v1 and convince one of the townies to mislynch.

Either of these scenarios are possible. But in any event, 4v2 sucks. 3v2 is way better.

If we claim at all, we should only claim characters. Won’t do us much good, but it’s not as bad as outing potential power roles.

Still working, and have a lot of shoveling to do later. Blizzard turned out to be late, not overrated. Just popped in to claim so you can all move on and do something productive, will get a chance to log on and do another readthrough later. I obviously need to rethink the game entirely after Magic's flip.

I'm Impa. The reason I thought Link and Zelda were town early is because my PM pretty unequivocally aligns me with both of them, I'm a nursemaid and protector to Zelda and a mentor to Link, being an important recurring character throughout the series.

One thing I picked up rereading DP1 is that the Banana kill, which originally did not make sense to me, is making a lot more sense. She claimed that her role was confirmable at the end of the DP and would town confirm her. I had forgotten about that. The only reads she gave were a very tepid townread on me. And looking at the soft claims list, she claimed a female character, and Link was outed and lynched at the end of the DP. So scum could have been hunting for power roles/possible confirmed townies/Zelda, killing within softclaimed POE (that would be WF, me, and Banana). I don't think the argument that the kill was driven by an incompetent scum team holds water in light of this. This makes me scum read WF a bit. I've got that feeling all day that I'm a mislynch target - Banana was one of the only people who townread me and she got killed, and a wagon started on me immediately after I said I wouldn't be on, basically wasting a whole day. Feels inorganic.

Luna's post also sticks out to me, where he accused me of 'only voting Thoth after the CC debacle', something that after the rereading the DP makes zero sense, I wasn't even online then. And he also accuses me of lurking and popping in to crack a joke at the end of the DP. Why would he think I was lurking and have a genuine mistake/false memory of me voting Thoth after the CC? Especially when the whole drama was about Thoth being hammered by magic immediately after the false CC? This whole paragraph just reads as contrived to me, and not coming from any normal recollection of those events that someone would have.

I am actually wanting to pressure Rex. Rex hasn't really taken a lot of solid stances, and his joke at the end of the day phase "Never change guys" while funny, kind of rubbed me the wrong way that he was there and making fun of people's decision while not really contributing his own decision. I went back and read all his posts, he had a clear indication of wanting to push magoroth early, later said he would be down to lynch mago or thoth based on little contribution, and only fully voted thoth after the "CC" debacle. Then he doesn't post until EOD, where he makes the joke. IDK I am getting the vibes that he is around and aware of the game but going with the flow rather than trying to solve it. His vote was the scummiest on the thoth wagon imo, and the fact that he never stated an opinion change on it despite mharman changing his claim, or really commenting it at all makes is seem more scummy in hindsight.

In reality, I was literally the first person on Thoth's wagon. Does anyone else find this bizarre reasoning? Like an excuse to scumread?
