Magoroth is my top sus right now. Role seems very fake-claimy and, not knowing anything about this show, I tentatively believe Wryly that his character is a plausible fake-claim. I say we lynch Magoroth and go onto DP3

Not quite. I was talking about the math from my perspective before wylted claimed and Kohai was lynched, although I think that changes nothing. Also, if wylted isn’t the Martyr, then he is presumably scum and killing him would end the game instantly. Finally, it doesn’t matter who kills wylted or doesn’t kill him, since the math works out the same whether I get him or the Empire does.

If the Martyr is real and you shoot the Wylted, there is no NP3 after DP3. So we get an extra mislynch (2-1).

If the Martyr isn't real and you shoot the Wylted, there is an NP3 and the game could end DP3 after you shoot him.

This is what happens when I replace “Martyr” with “Wylted.” Shooting “the Wylted” is funny enough that I’ll go with it. There’s only one.

Alright, I’ll just have to take your word for it since I still can’t wrap my head around your math. Another point in Wylted’s favor is his apparent willingness to die by lynch or modkill, just seems odd for scum.

It’s just mislynch math. If you are 5 people away from parity, as we are now, you have two mislynches. 5, then 3, then 1 away from parity, i.e., final three. If you are 4 people away from parity, you lose that last person needed to go into final three. Same reason why it’s generally safe to VTNL on evens but not on odds, as you taught me in Deltarune.

Lunatic’s point stands that I don’t think an experienced player would have signed off on Kohai’s Strengthener claim, but maybe Magoroth is new enough to our meta to have done it. It’s also possible that Kohai yolo’d it.

I can't say I understand Thoth's mislynch math that supposedly town locks wylted, but I'm pretty busy rn and don't have time to try and force it through my brain gears.

I initially townread Magoroth because the role and justification sounded pretty good, and because he straight up volunteered to be the DP1 lynch at a time when we were struggling to settle on someone and could have just ended up jumping on that. That could have been him being LAMIST, sure, but I find myself hesitating. It's really weird that Kohai came up with a turd of a role claim while Mago would come out with something so solid. I feel like I'm missing something.

That’s kind of the name of the game. If we weren’t missing anything, there would be no challenge.

1x Even Night Vigilante. That’s why I bought wylted’s claim. On odds, my kill would cost us a mislynch, assuming a kill every phase. wylted’s role is obviously in the game to stop that, and I suspected from the start that someone had a role meant to stop mine from changing the mislynch math, which is what I meant when I said that a specific soft-claim could help me, i.e., by verifying that suspicion.

What soft claim would that be?

I was gonna say lynch Mago and go through with Lunatic's plan: have Thoth shoot wylted, skip a night phase, then we have an extra mislynch and have narrowed our POE by 3 players.

But obviously that won't work now. I mean, the lynching Mago part might, but not the rest.

Very odd to me that scum would fake claim a role that incentivizes town to lynch them.

I’m going to be at services much of the evening tonight, so it’ll be a bit before I’m available again. I realize I haven’t claimed my role yet. I’m hesitant to do so still, but I recognize it will probably be necessary this DP, so it just depends on the order at this point. Both Luna and Wryly have more prominent characters in the show than mine, so I would understand going first.
