I am a JOAT. I have a few abilities at my disposal that I will keep under wraps for now. Last night I used a 1x watcher on myself, thinking I would likely be visited because of my character claim since whiteflame had mentioned he was pretty prominent earlier in the day phase, plus I basically ousted that kohai was likely scum based on one of the roles I have which turned out to be correct. Turns out I wasted my watch because no one visited me. I'd prefer not to oust my other JOAT abilities yet..

And yeah, I realize JOAT and inventor are similar, I might have suspected Rex's claim so its not the worst thing he died. You just have to WIFOM if I would claim JOAT as scum with an already flipped inventor.

If the Martyr isn't real and you shoot the Wylted, there is an NP3 and the game could end DP3 after you shoot him

Magoroth is my top sus right now. Role seems very fake-claimy and, not knowing anything about this show, I tentatively believe Wryly that his character is a plausible fake-claim. I say we lynch Magoroth and go onto DP3

Restless spirit is a very DART-esque role and Magoroth didn't come from DART.. So I think the only way he is lying is if that was a mod provided fake claim. Otherwise, I am not surprised to see one from savant.

Alright, I'll go ahead and claim as well then:

Because of the trust Cassian vests in Bix, I'm the Confidant. I was given a list of roles, told that some of them were in the game, and told to pick one at the start of the game. Each DP, I can pick a different player and, if they are town-aligned and have that role, I get a positive result.

I'll cut out the uncertainty here: I chose the BG role. It seemed like it had a more than decent chance of being in this game as a relatively common role and it was one that couldn't verify itself.

I targeted Thoth DP1 and got a negative result. Since seeing her claim, I targeted Wryly this DP. I got a positive result. Didn't believe there was much chance Cassian was a fake claim, but this rules out that remote possibility.

Given he apparently wasn't entirely truthful about when his role activates, it could be the case that he's town and lying about his role, though I don't think he pulls Martyr out of thin air for that purpose. So point taken.

Well that is unfortunate. This is an interesting role. I would say its a weak investigative but with rexs track, my watch, and your essential role cop, that makes a lot of investigations. I am open to it because mine and rexs were 1x, but its still worth noting..

Regardless POE is the same largely. I am down to let thoth prove his role tonight before pursuing him.

ATM I'd be down to lynch between you and wylted however in the POE. I buy wrylys body guard because no other protective roles have outed and we have a claimed vig. I buy mago and banana as well. What are your thoughts here?

Very much doubt Rex's inventor, Lunatic's JOAT, and whiteflame's day phase rolecop are all in the game.

At the same time it's hard for me to believe that Savant wouldn't put Bix and Luthen in the game. Kino and Maarva did strike me as more fake claim territory, but then again, I would've said the same of Wilmon Paak. Savant could be going more for what works with the roles he wanted in the game rather than which characters are major or minor.

If Lunatic is scum it could explain why Kohai was permitted to play that stinkburger of a fake claim. Skipper just wasn't around for scum chat. JOAT and Inventor seem like the most plausibility-straining role combos on the board right now. Yes, JOAT would be dumb for scum to claim, but Lunatic could just be yolo-ing a WIFOM grenade at us. Behaviorally I've liked him so far, but that should be no sweat to pull off for a veteran.

It's an odd set of investigatives: one granted (Rex's) and two self-used (yours and mine), all of which are potential single confirmations. Would've made Kohai's Chauffer extra powerful since that would have been the sole information the Tracker or Watcher would receive.

It's a given that Wryly is town at this point. There's one scum left, so either you believe I'm scum and I just confirmed her as town, or you believe we're both town.

Letting Thoth confirm himself with his night action makes sense to me. My role is essentially spent at this point, so if he wants to shoot me, he can.

Your Luthen claim is just impossible for me to dismiss. It's similar to the Cassian claim from Wryly, just an auto-townread. I can't see a world where Savant leaves him out of the game setup, and though your being the JOAT stands as odd with a confirmed Inventor, I agree that that would make for a very strange fake claim at this point.

So POE is down to Banana, Mago, and Wylted. All of them have believable claims, but I'm getting shakier about them the more I think on them.

Banana has the most going for her, given that I don't think she'd just give up her role after using it if she was scum. I'm realizing that's a bit of WIFOM, though. It's role confirmation, and however she used it, I can see her doing so just to get a little more townread.

Mago I was mainly townreading for the Marva claim, which fits together really well. Especially given Kohai's claim didn't, I thought I'd be pretty solid in that this DP, too. I'm second-guessing it now, though. I could see someone looking up that info about the character and finding Marva's emotional post-mortem rallying cry as a basis for the Restless Spirit claim.

If I'm picking an order between them from most to least scummy, it's probably Wylted -> Banana -> Mago, but I could see flipping the latter two.

They're effectively all single opportunities with no guarantees. Rex's Inventor was a 1X Tracker he'd have to give out to a target he didn't know was even town. Luna's Watcher is likely 1X, so basically just the most straightforward 1-shot investigative. For mine, I wasn't even guaranteed to pick a role that was in the game or validate it if I did. They're all very limited investigative roles, and all could have been manipulated by that Chauffer.

Yes because im known to "YOLO" as scum... I am pretty methodical and careful as scum for the most part, you can ask anyone whose played as scum with me. Also I would actually be putting in the effort for theme analysis. I was also one of the first claims on the board, so unless you think it was a mod provided fake claim...

I am taking this with a big grain of salt, since you were the last to claim your role and result. Town confirming someone to gain town cred yourself (especially when they are the only protective role) isn't a bad gamble, as it was unlikely she would have been a lynch target for scum anyways.

I was pretty sure a large part of his reason for townreading Wylted was that he believed Savant had put some role in the game to counter his Vig. Wylted's initial role claim would have meant that shooting him would impact the game (albeit not in the way Thoth initially suggested). With them being on opposite nights, there is apparently no impact to his shooting Wylted at this point.

I mean, he immediately died as soon as you subbed in, so it's not like you would've had to put up with him long. I have no idea if you would've even had time to enter scum chat, discover he was going to fake claim Strengthener, and stop him from doing it. Probably not; the heat was on him and he was already at L-1.

When I first started playing mafia you were sold to me as a known risk taker, hence my speculation. If I was misled, sorry. Not sure what you mean by theme analysis since the theme was confirmed by Savant.

You definitely were the third to claim, although you were kind of under pressure to. I do give you credit for the quick Luthen Rael claim; either you came up with him fast or Kohai/Skipper had already pinned him down as a fake claim, and it's just so hard for me to believe Luthen isn't in the game... a spymaster is a great character to make a JOAT, too. Is that his justification?
