A passive Bulletproof would be ridiculously OP, similar to a passive town Commuter, and the only thing that was making me believe your JOAT was that all your roles were, at least, 1x shots. Now you're expecting me to believe Savant put an unkillable townie in the setup.
It's a 1x bulletproof, im not permanently unkillable lmao. And you cant actually protect a kill because you die in their place. It makes perfect balance sense in my head, which is why I didn't sus your bg claim.

Yes, all of these were passive.

Okay, maybe a miscommunication about what a passive is then. I understand it to be an ability that doesn't need to be activated and is always in effect.
If you meant passive as in it passively protects you for one night phase, that makes a lot more sense. But then I'm confused how you could have thought Savant was telling you it wasn't passive?

That would be correct. Though "always" is changed by the 1x modifier

Now your getting it.

Honestly I was tripped up when he first said I had to activate it, never seen it work that way.

I'll tag him and ask then
Alright, I’m confused, what did I miss? Can someone explain what I’m clarifying? What’s normal phrasing for a passive role?

In your expert opinion, are bulletproofs usually passive or do you have to tell the mod to activate it?

Most often, it’s passive. I’ve seen some activated BPs before where it was only available for one night after use, but those are unusual cases.

Nice loll it was either that or "everybody makes mistakes, everybody has those days!" by miley cyrus lmao

Maybe it's just because I play too many videogames and am too entrenched in that terminology, but I understand passive abilities to be ones you don't have to activate. As in, you don't have to tell the mod "use my Bulletproof tonight." For instance, I could've gained a passive Perceptive ability in Ruyi Zhuan that would've let me see who visited me each night.
If in mafia "passive" just means it's not a power you actively use on others, then what could a non-passive Bulletproof possibly be?

There generally aren't non passive BP's, except for that game I guess whiteflame mentioned, I don't think I've seen it or if I have I don't remember it

One where you have to tell the mod you want it activated. Usually has a single NP duration, like a self-doc. It does happen, just seems weird that it would come up at all and that there would be confusion over it.

I’d dig back and try to find it, but it would take a while since I’m on my phone. It’s kind of baffling because being BP doesn’t seem like something that should just go away with time.
We still have til 7pm tomorrow.

All right, big miscommunication there. I actually thought Bulletproof always had to be activated, like a Commuter. It didn't occur to me that it was just like an extra life. Guess I'm still green. In that case, there could have only been one death NP2 because Thoth shot Mago, but scum tried to kill you and failed. So you're saying it never occurred to you to say that in his defense because you were still under this misconception that Savant had told you your BP had to be activated first?

Yeah I was probably targeted for the night kill now that I think about it lol. I wasn't told my bulletproof was used though, so maybe not, but its starting to make sense now

Ask Savant if your BP was used
I don't like that you've changed your story about what Savant said or that your supposed misunderstanding of how your role worked conveniently let Thoth get framed, but eh. My brain be tired and I've got another day to think about this.
Ask Savant if your BP was used
Way ahead of you, just asked him.

Just fucking lynch me then, I really don't care. Kind of starting to piss me off now.

Youve been targeting me all day lmao you have your mind made up go ahead and hammer me let whiteflame win again, he deserves another scum win, we played like absolute shit
In loving Memory of Lannan and Ajab, fallen debaters.
Lol chill dude, my mind's not made up at all. whiteflame's just been on the road so I knew he couldn't respond. You were here so I grilled you. I'll grill him tomorrow.

I’m good with that. It’s been a pretty long day and, as you say, there is still tomorrow.

Its just how you phrased that shit, using words like "Supposedly" and "Conveniently" telling me I changed my story instead of just mis understanding that I wasn't an active BP after I already admitted to confusing it. It sounded like a pre-determination of guilt.
In loving Memory of Lannan and Ajab, fallen debaters.
It's suspicion, which is par for the course in mafia, but not predetermination of guilt. Since they are words that crooked cops use in movies when they're interrogating an innocent person, though, I can see why it might sound that way to you.

The main thing with your role to me is that it seems almost too weak. You're given a list of roles to choose from, if you pick the wrong role, you're fucked and town have -- what, for investigatives? Rex's 1x Tracker, which he could accidentally give to scum?
How many roles were in the list?
