If I was going by pure vibes at this point which are likely to be wrong BUT if I was, I would say Pie/Lunatic/Alyssa/Vader are probably Town. This is a 9p so there’s probably 2 scum, along with possibly a neutral (although that feels a little strong with 2 scum unless Town is seriously loaded, but I doubt Mikal would approve such a setup… could be wrong but let’s roll with it)

so in conclusion, likely 7v2. With 5 Town between me and the aforementioned, that leaves a supposedly game winning PoE (?) of Thoth/Wylted/Shining/Rex

Pie could be trying this strat as scum since he did it last game and he was Town. My reasoning is that Pie is usually good at appearing Townie as scum, and I don’t think most people in this game would scumread him for it. Does anyone agree with this take or am I being retarded?

I still townread Pie for the record, just trying to come up with potential scum in that town pool since I would be a little surprised if I was 100% correct about a PoE this early ok.

Actually, sorry, that question was poorly phrased. What I meant was, where have you seen me not just attempt but actually succeed in acting like I normally do as Town? I’m unsure if that is what you are saying but you certainly seem to be implying it

For what it’s worth, not really game related but now that I’m Town, Pie’s strategy makes sense, even if it’s annoying when you’re on the receiving end.

I used to do this when playing the StarCraft II Mafia map/mod. It’s basically exactly like Town of Salem with some role differences and far less cartoonish graphics. It’s very annoying when it’s done to you but it’s also a nice way of pressuring ppl and getting scum to react.

I do think Wylted could potentially be scum. He plays slightly differently from how I’m used to him playing, and the early unprompted claim when people are getting run up to claim is kinda scummy. A bit less so since it’s coming from him, but I find the Miller claim a little convenient, it would be hard for him to justify an unprompted claim otherwise. Plus, how often is this man a Miller? Jeez…

Anyway, I want Rex to claim next.

Buuuuut we really ought to start thinking about doing theme analysis. The OP seems to imply that the Town/Scum split is, likely, not super complicated. A cursory reading of an IMDB page could be enough for us to start narrowing POE down just by character claims.

You have to take everything into context, not just a character claim, but behavior, role justification, the mod, etc. Analyzing character claims is helpful but not an end all be all strategy. Last game for example I called out your claim for not making sense and standing out from other claims. I didn't immediately vote you and advocate for your lynch however (though I likely would have after your constant defense of wryly before she flipped scum, but pies result kind of made it obvious at that point anyway). I won't tunnel someone based on a claim alone, especially in a theme I am not familiar with.

Just watched the first episode. I believe every single character that has been claimed so far has made an appearance, and its only been a single episode, but the justifications are matching up. I don't really get wylteds langdon justification though, but maybe that is something that happens later on in the show? He doesn't seem to have issues getting along with anyone. And supas character seems very minor, but it kind of makes sense, since it is the security guard.

On a side note, this show was bringing back memories of when I was a guard at a hospital. Every day was a shit show just like in this show lol.

Could be wrong but it felt like an echo from Ruyi Zhan, a poorly thought out bait to get people to lynch him. I noticed it right away lol. Because his claim made too little sense. His claim was bad in the last game as scum he played but it was a bit more well thought out than this. Plus claiming VT early as scum is kind of wild. Anyways I just don't see the scum motivation here.

Assuming a Miller really is in the game we could verify Wylted’s claim by checking if any of the other characters make sense with a Miller. Mharman first made a setup then Banana tweaked a bit to fit the characters. My guess is she prioritized the roles being balanced and probably didn’t change the setup very much, so Wylted getting a weird justification could make sense.
