Well, I don’t regret lynching Helz even after all that. Guess Mikal made up the goggles for the purpose of this game and that Helz was keeping the very basic protective role secret for… no conceivable reason beyond frustration.

And it looks like no one was killed during the NP. That’s interesting.

Shining’s almost certainly the lynch this DP, but I’m not rushing to the obvious.

Honestly, yes. I just couldn't get it through my head that a townie would really let us careen off a cliff into a pointless mislynch out of some stubborn, misguided, spiteful determination to teach town a lesson that doesn't even really apply to the kinds of games DC moderators design. That he was just cornered OMGUSing scum seemed more believable than that.

Maybe he might have been sussed even if he had claimed, I'm not sure. I would definitely have VTL'd Shining over Helz if Helz had full claimed, though.

Worse, I can't even say I "learned a valuable lesson" here, the goal he deemed so worthy of getting mislynched for. I still think pressing for a full claim before lynching is still sound strategy in mech-heavy games. I think all this did was waste a day phase we could have spent lynching Shining and getting a nice 3-0.

Hey, I'm here. The 60 hour work week I had kind of swung a wrecking ball at the progress I had been making with my mental health, which is why I disappeared. After a certain point, I assumed that I must have been either lynched or replaced out, which is why I was surprised to learn that I have been injured. Which means that unless there's a healer role here, I'm going to die tonight. So I'm alive, but only for today. I'm going to try to get caught up, but I'd really appreciate a recap as well.

would his claim have made a difference at that point ? He had pretty much given all of it but didn’t clarify his protective role. Ur saying him claiming that specific ability would have made u not lynch him!?

I think it was only a question of when, not if, Helz would be lynched after everything that went down last DP. I’m fine with the argument that Shining was obviously scummy, but I could see plenty of reasons to sus Helz.

I'm saying if he had full claimed when Rex did I would absolutely have voted Shining last DP. My inability to rationalize his actions as pro-town was a huge deciding factor in my scumread of him.

hmm dp2 recap, Wylted died claiming to be a king or something, shining claimed to be a lightning rod redirector thing, helz was most of the focus tho because wryly got a investigative result on pie who

flipped guilty but then pie revealed he was the guild leader of the hunters so hes town confirmed. so it looked like someone was a mole in their guild since she said she was using it on pie so it looks like he was framed by someone there. They had good reason to think it was Helz so we pressured him. that turned chaotic and a lot of people didn’t think he was playing optimally by not claiming his protective role in full so hes got policy lynched after 1000 or so posts of back and forth. i think that’s most of the bulletin points

Shining's claiming he is himself, and he has a 1x ability to redirect an action from another player onto himself. He says his justification is that he is a silent type with a strong desire to win.

His claim is pretty nakedly awful. Setting aside that a 1X Lightning Rod makes little to no sense (it’s not a strong PR so it shouldn’t be limited use) and that it’s only activated upon recruitment, the justification is virtually non-existent as well, which is unusual given the self-character claims we’ve seen so far that have all at least had a modicum of justification.

Apart from that, it took him way too long to develop an opinion on Thoth during DP1, a task that should have been pretty easy by the point he started posting reads.

Scum having both a Poisoner and something that can injure seems excessive, but it would explain the lack of an NK. On the other hand it could just be a desperation play from scum. Can you full claim, Casey?

Can you provide a justification? Because I didn’t read one that related at all to your being a Lightning Rod. It’s not that it’s ass, it’s non-existent. And please, point to any of the people who have claimed themselves as characters and explain how your justification is at all comparable to theirs.
