First, Wyrly (#98), were you explicitly told that you are an alignment cop. Is it possible that your role is actually a flavor cop that determines if a player's character has monster mana? The difference is very important.

The ability says I can investigate someone and get a result of guilty or innocent. Alignment Cop is my assumption from that. Alignment is not mentioned on the role card itself.

I asked Mikal days ago if 3P investigate as guilty or innocent. He said it depends on game mechanics he would not elaborate on. This is an odd response if my ability really only detects a monster smell.

I'm Mestari "The deceiver" I assume that's an epithet for me. I won't say why I'm the deceiver because it's hard to paraphrase while still making sense. It basically has to do with manipulating truths and lies to get results. My understanding is that it's a reference to transformers mafia where through a complex series of events, I convinced everyone that I had a 1x mass lie detector. I had a lie detector, but it was not mass.

My role is called "City observer". This is what the home owners association soft claim referenced.

Right, and I'm still trying to figure that part out. I imagine it's a bus driver still, because if they have one then they are always driving Alyssa that np. They would have had to of driven Alyssa to Whiteflame, but I believe it as a possibility since it was already obvious he was SJW and they would be setting him up to get vigged

That's what I'm getting at. He's not telling you that you are not an alignment cop because that sets up confusion from the roles. The roles, for the most part, are varying levels of shit. The whole point is that we can't rely on them to win the game.

So my strongest scumread right now is Rex. I wrote him off as town early on when Lunatic hard town read him. That told me he claimed. I assumed this meant he was a cop or doctor or other strong town role. When the cop result came out, I immediately thought, "yep, checks out, he's the cop." Well now we know he's not the cop. I cannot for the life of me understand why Lunatic town read him so hard then. My assumption has to be because he claimed his character immediately and that's risky as mafia. (According to Helz, you have access to the entire guild discord Wryly, so help me out here if I'm wrong.) The problem with this is, mafia was given at least character claims. I assume the amount they were given is 2. 1 is too few in a game this big. 3/4 mafia having free characters in a game where you can clap yourself as well is ridiculous. I refuse to believe that Thoth's claim was given by Mikal. He claimed a non hunter in a game where every town turned out to be hunters. That's cooked. What this means is that the 2 mafia fake claims were already accounted for, and he was shit out of luck when he had to claim. Alyssa already took ownership of Go Gun-hee in the Mafia chat because she was prepared to claim popular as it fits both the fake claim and her actual role. Rex already claimed his character in the guild chat. That left no fake claims for Thoth, and the push on him was early enough that mafia did not know how many player characters would be in the game and if it would look scummy to claim a player character.

If Rex is mafia, Thoth's claim funmble makes sense.

Further, if Wyrly doesn't detect alignment, Rex's role makes no sense.

On a side note, Awesome not joining a guild is kinda town because Mikal confirmed that Mafia doesn't have to wave roles or kills to recruit so there's no drawback to joining, but there's clear benefits because the guild wincon means the guilds are incentived to protect their own members if they can.

There being both a roleblocker and a redirector and the strongman all makes Awesome's role very high utility as well. Mikal confirmed that it would prevent all 3 of those roles from interfering with actions.

Can't get past Shining's role having basically no justification. #592 I ask him to clarify with Mikal, he doesn't. "I'm silent and I want to win" does nothing to explain a 1x single-target lightning rod.

We're at a point where we're sussing Banana enough that we might be rethinking our Shining scumread, but I'm just having trouble seeing a town!Shining here. Having no take on Thoth could be towny or inept scum. Having this bad of a claim could be bastard modding or inept scum. Maybe not even inept scum, just lazy scum.

I just want you to explain how you think there was no night kill. If there is a bus driver, the doctor shouldn't have protected you and the jailer shouldn't have protected Banana.

I also think the lack of the NK makes Magic likely to be town. Scum straight-claiming strengthener would do it if it was their actual role. A scum team with strengthener would just use it to pierce protection, and it makes more sense for town to have that role than scum with my role and the misdirection roles.

Alright, I only was half focused the last two days. Explain to me what's going on with Shining's claim and explain to me why the injury can't come from Mafia in lieu of the NK?
