I voted no. I think it’s better to go on the safe side and not give scum an unknown advantage when there’s no information on what that advantage is.

Checking in. I have no theme knowledge this time around, in fact I had never even heard of the show before today. It does seem interesting, however.

Watched the first season of this show like 5 years ago but it kept pissing me off with cliffhangers just to not answer a single question in the finale, so I stopped watching it. So I have some theme knowledge but it’s hazy.

I wonder why Banana is giving us this choice

Yeah that is not accurate. This is a character I do remember and I would definitely remember if voices told her to kill everyone. It’s like half accurate, she was told to kill someone and I think she left the door open and got the old Asian guy killed.

Antways I’ll research this in a bit to make sure but like 70% sure you are lying already

As for the vote for information, yeah screw that. I am not sure it’s worth risking buffing the mafia over some information. I am mostly indifferent if people wanna go that way, I can vote that way, but my own opinion I am leaning towards a no vote.

I mean I did think about that, you could be baiting or something. But at the same time it’s kind of an obvious play and unless mafia is precisely two people who aren’t the greatest, chances are it won’t fool them. And it still doesn’t explain getting the justification wrong. If you didn’t mess up like that in castlevania I’d be more willing to consider you were doing some kind of ploy here. Also, is it common for PGOs to claim here? I can see the arguments for it and it seems believable people would do this here

I myself, would not do it, but then again Veteran or whatever is a rare role, I don’t think I’ve seen it more than once or twice in like 50 games or so.

Wylted is definitely a lazy fake claimer. If he is fake claiming then he doesn't have an experienced scum mate though, because they would not have signed off on it, or would have helped him with his claim. I am starting to lean towards he's lying, but doing some ploy as town. I'll have to analyze his behavior going forward, but yeah in the past when hes scum slipped with his claim its usually after getting a lot of pressure into claiming. He doesn't usually claim off the bat like that as scum. Chances are he is making a really bad ploy to bait scum.

I would say that PGO should be claimed yes. The cost of town hitting PGO is pretty high, especially if its a cop or doc doing it. I would say the only case where it would probably be acceptable to play risky and not claim PGO would be if someone was really confident in their ability to bait a scum visit. The chances of that ever happening seem low with most of the playerbase here, and most people would likely screw that up, so in most cases people should probably just claim PGO IMO.

It is pretty rare. On DDO we had a game end on np1 because royalpaladin was a PGO and half the playerbase visiter her. As funny as it was, the game was over pretty quick.

It's impossible for me to make an educated decision about whether to vote Yes or No without knowing what role will be revealed publicly or what advantage Mafia will gain if we vote Yes. Instead of agreeing which way to vote, I think we are better off MacGyvering this into a bargain-bin Sensor. Mafia probably know which role will be revealed and what advantage they will get if we vote Yes. If we conspire to vote roughly 50/50 and we all announce which way we are voting, and then the vote swings differently than the public claims predict, we will have a decent PoE for who lied about their vote.

This assumes that Mafia have at least some incentive to vote for one particular option

I asked Banana some questions about my role, and, if I understand the answers correctly, they tilt me towards believing PGO is unlikely. I'm sussing wylted, but I guess it's possible.

before this game i invited all the signups (except mago because he wasnt signed up yet) to a group chat and suggested we type without our shift key. apparently people arent doing that. and the chat devolved into a racist joke convention anyway. luv u wylted

On second thought, it’s not necessary that scum have an incentive to vote one way or the other for my plan in post #20 to work. Town just have to be honest about how they voted.

Let me explain with an example. Let’s say 4 people say they voted Yes and 5 say they voted No. Since only townies’ votes count, if the vote passes, all four Yes voters are cleared. If not, at least one Yes voter is lying.

We can create a crushing PoE by DP2 this way.

Potentially even by the end of this DP.

Believe it or not, Thoth can fake this. But the idea doesn't seem bad. Splitting town in half and saying "there's scum in this half" could help narrow PoE in some endgames or scum v town clashes. It's limited in its usefulness, but it could be worth it.
